This restaurant is located on the second floor. It has your classic seafood boil decor inside. I did find it strange they did not offer whole shrimp vs. headless shrimp. I was also shocked with the price at $32 per pound for that shrimp. Seasoning was decent, but it really didn't taste fresh and felt frozen. Service was ok. Our server didn't check up on us too often. I always had to ask for a refill on my soda. Would I go back to this place, probably not. I can get a better seafood boil in Miami. read more

The fried oysters had a but if a fishy taste no go. I know a lot of places weights the seafood but the portions when they came out it was more like they added more corn and potatoes. Unfortunately, this restaurant was really disappointing. We had high hopes for fresh, tasty seafood since it's located seaside, but it definitely fell short. The staff came off annoyed and unwelcoming from the start. The restaurant was mostly empty, and although our group of 12 was seated right away, we weren't given menus. After waiting about 10 minutes, my husband ended up grabbing menus from the hostess stand himself. It took another 15 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. We ordered multiple seafood items that were supposed to equal several pounds, but when the food arrived, the portions were extremely small and didn't come close to what we ordered especially for the price. We've had seafood boils at many places, and this was by far the smallest and least satisfying. The seafood also didn't seem very fresh. Before going into the details of the food, I want to begin by taking a minute to recognize Jackie our server. From the moment we entered the restaurant to the long after time of our departure, she continuously greeted us with excitement, joined us in conversation, and even helped us capture moments in pictures. She really helped make this a memorable experience for us. Now to the food. So I have had Broils in multiple areas of the country. From Maraylamd, Texas and to the Low Country of Charlestin SC, but I have never had as tasty of Broil as I just had at the Yummy Crab in Key West Florida. I mean this place was absolutely amazing! The flavor of every piece of crab, corn, crawfish, shrimp, sasauge and potatoes in the dripping wet cajun sauce served in a bag to retain all that juice, flavor and aroma was all nearly too much to contain. I saw some pretty good reviews about this place and was so excited for some fresh seafood in the keys! I'm not a picky person tbh but when you're paying $125 for 2 people to eat a boil I feel like you should feel satisfied with the food. I got crab and shrimp. He got crab and sausage. Well, we both got garlic butter old bay seasoning and there was only garlic butter on it and I got mild sauce and he got medium.. we just asked for extra old bay seasoning and they brought us a little cup of it each... okay. We didn't taste any of the mild/medium sauce. I noticed mine had 3 potatoes and no corn (it's suppose to come with corn and potatoes) so I asked them about the corn and started trying to the crab while they checked on it. They came back and said there was a confusion and they would need to take a potato away to give me the corn. I said okay and they took my whole place that was already dumped onto the tray away to add the corn.. I've never had a place take away a piece of prepared food instead of just bringing the missing item..... strange. The corn was way overcooked and hard to eat anyways. The potato was alright. The crab was so watery and very small. And the shrimp was a bit cold for being in a boil bag.. I would've mentioned this to them but quite literally no one checked on how our food was or if we needed anything. It was one of the worst food experiences we've ever had. My wife and I gave Yummy Crab a try and candidly, it was OK. My wife had the Mussels Boil and I had the Shrimp/Crab/Sausage Boil. Was impressed by the way it came out in a big bag that we had to open and pour all the food into the bowl. The shrimp and sausage were very good - gave you a ton that I just couldn't even finish. The crab legs were like spider legs and it turned out to not be worth the effort - a lot of work for a tiny bit of meat. The mussels were not a hit either. Half of them were still closed and my wife gave up after a little while, given her disappointment. Given there is so much good seafood in KW, we will probably not be back. We dined at Yummy Crab during our visit to Key West during Lobster fest! The staff was very attentive as soon as we arrived , we were seated and our drink order was taken. I opted for the Tequila sunrise which was delicious and blended well. The menu has a great mix of options for all types of seafood lovers which I appreciate since My Husband and I can sometimes have two different tastes in good. I chose the combo # 11 which included lobster, snow crab, shrimp ,potatoes and corn. They also have al la Carte options that you can add to your boil which I did. I chose to have all of the sauces mixed which was a decision that I definitely don't regret! My seafood boil was delicious . I'd definitely come back to yummy crab the next time I'm in the area. Okay , the good thing about this place is the food. Truly and that is ultimately why you're there so I know this seems cheap to have 3 stars. But even though the food is better than many places in Florida for a seafood boil the environment is kinda lame and not well put together. For a vacation destination not much thought went into how the place looks on the inside. Additionally the servers are okay , the drinks are weak and the place is always empty. Food was great! But, they were very deceptive with their tipping process, which killed the entire experience. An 18% "gratis" was automatically added to our check (as a party of four), then they gave an outline of recommended tips to leave (18-22%) in addition to the gratis. We ordered two meals and when the check came for $230, I knew something was majorly off. Definitely read your check so you are not tricked into tipping twice. read more

We've spent 5 days going from Naples down to the keys and this was by far the best thing we've eaten. It also was very reasonably priced. We split 1/2lb of snow crab and 1/2lb of shrimp and added 1/2lb of sausage. We also got the Cajun sauce. We both have pretty small appetites so it was perfect for us, but if you can throw back a little more I'd probably do the full pound of each. It was AMAZING. We ate everything and spent the next few hours saying "you know what I miss? That seafood boil" every 30 minutes. We also really really enjoyed the key lime pie, which I actually did not think I was going to like. Fortunately, it was absolutely delicious and we smashed the whole thing. read more

Finding a dinner spot in Key West after 7pm can be quite challenging! However, we stumbled upon Yummy Crab located at the corner of First St and Whitehead. Surprisingly, unlike other places near the Pier, it wasn't crowded. The ambiance was fantastic with soft music playing and nice decor. We ordered Shrimp fried rice and the Seafood combo of Crawfish, Shrimp, and Cajun-flavored lobster tail. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious! The Cajun boil was particularly impressive; the flavor was outstanding yet perfectly balanced in spice, enjoyable even for kids. The service was excellent, and the place was well-maintained. We enjoyed every aspect of our experience and felt it was great value for money. It's a bit hidden--you have to go up the stairs to enter--and they offer balcony seating with a view. We're really glad we discovered this place! It was the perfect ending to our Key West adventure! read more

I don't understand why a seafood restaurant in Key West would serve you catfish which is a bottom feeding worm infested freshwater fish or tilapia, which is a farm raised fish. These are the only two fish options on the menu. Key West has an abundant supply of fresh mahi-mahi and yellowtail snapper neither of which is on the menu. When the dozen oysters arrived that we ordered on the half shell, they had been separated from the shell, which is an absolute no-no as it tells the customer that they're not fresh. The crab cakes were good. That must be one of Sysco foods better options. The fried oysters, another Sysco foods item were terrible, if you'd like pre-frozen fried shrimp this is the place to go!. I seriously doubt this restaurant is gonna last long with its poor choice and menu items. Clearly, the owners are clueless as to what fresh seafood is and you're not gonna make it in Key West not serving fresh seafood. Well, they purport, fresh seafood yet , how fresh can a catfish really be in Key West when it comes from one of the swampy lakes in Alabama? Another no no is how the waitress serve the drinks. Hand on top of the glass. If you don't understand what that means, it means when the palm is facing down and towards the cup, and the five fingers are surrounded the lip with the cup. Huge no no in the service industry. They do have crab on the menu however, their prices are rather steep. We did not op for the crab because the menu is a mixture of crab and crawfish from Louisiana again not fresh. You can't get fresh catfish and crab and crawfish in key west of something being fresh coming from Louisiana or Alabama. Terrible place that will not make it a year unless a serious menu overhaul takes place. read more

This place is a hidden, no frills anywhere to be found experience for sure. Don't come here for a frozen cocktail to refresh yourself, or any drink that's not a bottle of beer. They likely won't have it- BUT if you make it that far, these seafood boils are SO TASTY and worth the whole package of napkins you'll use to wipe the butter from your elbows. My partner and I split the big boi bag- included shrimp, crab legs, lobster tail, & crawfish- garlic flavor. I have a bulb of garlic where my heart should be and this meal made this garlic girl so happy. Everything was so well flavored and cooked well. Neither of us had eaten crawfish, but it was on our bucket lists and while it personally turned out not to be for me- my guy devoured the whole little bushel of them. The patio also comes with a nice overlook. Highly recommend if you are all about the food, rather than the service and bar selection. Both are lean. read more

I am not a fan of getting crab boils in a bag however, I have to say this place in Key West was well worth the money was excellent food and really the prices were amazing for what you got. I highly recommend this place to everyone that comes to Key West. It's a nice flight of stairs. Portion was excellent - 12ish shrimp (head off, easy to peel), a cluster and a half of crab (well cooked, not dry), 2 potatoes, 1 corn. We added a half pound of sausage (not spicy, sliced thin), which was flavorful, and rounded out the bag. Service was a little light, but we were checked on several times to make sure we were good.
