Went here last night & once again 2 weeks ago. We had two very different experiences, so this 4 star reflects an average of both. 2 weeks ago, we got the exact same thing: 1/2 lb tri tip, 1/2 lb brisket & 1 large mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese was DIVINE. Fam ranked it as one of the best mac they've ever had. SOOOO gooey. Soooo cheesy. They were also sooo generous with the meat. It was definitely more than 1 lb total. The meat was moist, and they let you choose if you want the fatty parts or the lean parts. Last night we got the same thing, but the meal fell short. The Mac n cheese was different. The color was different, the taste, the texture... it was just a different recipe. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't as good. We still finished all of it though, haha. The meat this time just wasn't as fresh. Not as moist, and just overall not as good. The customer service is excellent, and the three people working there were out in the cold, workin hard! We will definitely be back to support them. For $31, this fed 4 people. A pretty good deal in my opinion! read more

I want to start off and say the people here were very kind, and readily gave utensils and sauces when asked. The food left much to be desired. The meat was chewy and was not tender, which I expected it to be. There was a strong smoky smell that was not subtle, and lowered my enjoyment of the food even more. The sides fared a bit better: the potato salad was the best dish I tried, but the mac and cheese was salty and pungent. I wish this establishment the best, but won't be back soon. read more

Was on our way for tacos but caught the amazing smell of this place and quickly had a change of mind for some BBQ. Staff was super friendly and recommended the tri tip and even gave us some samples before we decided so we had an idea but in all honesty both meats were amazing. My friend and I both got the 2 meat combo with tri tip and brisket and it will not disappoint. We received little cups of BBQ sauce with it but the meat alone has such a great taste and a smoke to it that makes you not need the sauce. They cater and deliver and I am a satisfied customer. I'll for sure be going back to try the hot links and BBQ chicken along with the cornbread. read more

So the first time I tried Smoked Out BBQ, my bf and I were on our way home, and I saw their truck parked on Nogales St, in front of the Nogales High School. It smelled amazing, so we decided to stop by and check them out. Plus I was super hungry! We got the 2 meat combo plus 2 sides. Brisket, ribs, mashed potatoes & Mac & cheese. It smelled amazing and looked good. We live close by so was extremely excited to eat when we got home. So sad to say this, but food was not good. It was probably the worst BBQ I've ever had in my life. It's so disappointing because I really wanted to love the food! I believe it's family owned, and everyone there was so nice, but unfortunately, the food is not good!! The meats were cold. Mashed potatoes had no flavor, very runny, and Mac & cheese was alright. They use Penne Pasta. Mind you, we spent more than $25, & our portions were such a joke, meat was tough and chewy, and the worst part, cold I truly believe if they really did their research on how real American BBQ is supposed to be cooked, and they executed to perfection, I would eat here probably every other day. I don't mind paying for amazing BBQ, but this was less than amazing, and it was such a waste of money. Nice sweet people, but food is so disappointing. read more

TLDR: inedible, waste of money I don't usually write reviews but the food I got was so bad, I had to warn others. It may have been this incident but the brisket I got was so bad, it's inedible. I attached the picture of the pieces that I didn't eat. It's going into the trash. You don't want to see the pieces that I tried to eat. Chewed over 100 times and it was still hard. If brisket is properly smoked, it should be able to be eaten without using teeth. Not this place. The fat should be trimmed to 1/4-1/2 inch. The hard fat does not render down. As shown on the picture they left 2.5inch of fat on it. I suspect it's not even trimmed at all. Brisket should have fat, it should melt in your mouth but this hard fat is NOT edible. This pitmaster should be ashamed of themselves for serving this junk read more

Hi all!. Ordered two three meat combo for delivery overall price was 80 dollars that we do not mind for good quality BBQ. We heard plenty of good things about this stand. Unfortunately their reputation did not live up to their name. There was little things that eventually added up. For starters the Mac n Cheese did not taste at all of cheese, it was over cooked and merely mush. The jalapeño poppers were overcooked and quite dark as if one used the previous oil from a previous meal. The bacon on the jalapeño poppers was undercooked. The Pork Ribs were okay, they weren't juicy it would remind one on a day old thanksgiving ham. The chicken was just fine nothing too special. The Brisket and Tri Tip was 50/50 meat and fat and not the good fat. Potato salad was adequate. Surprisingly the star of the meal were the baked beans. The flavor was there but their quality needs dramatic assistance. I'm not trying to put them down. I believe the amount we paid for this meal should be better in taste and in quality. I did get a hold of the owners and they were open to feed back. Perhaps we will try again in a month to see this they actually listened to the customers feedback. Hopefully the constructive criticism helps this business and build off of it. read more

Saw this charming truck parked outside and decided to stop by and give them a try. Prices seemed reasonable enough and the people were nice. Unfortunately I came away more hungry than when I came. I got the combo 2, which came with two meats and two sides. I got the briskest and pork ribs along with mac n cheese/potato salad for the sides. The meat wasn't even hot. What's worse is that the brisket was overly salty and tough as can be. I had trouble chewing through the first slab and decided it wasn't worth the trouble to try and finish the rest. Overly salty seemed like the overall theme as the Mac and cheese and potato salad were too. The mac and cheese also had a weird texture to it that left an aftertaste. I normally don't write scathing reviews like this, especially when the people operating this place are so nice, but it's just not worth it for anyone to waste their money on. At least not until the quality improves drastically. The first red flag should've been that they don't even have their own house made bbq sauce. Instead, they just throw you a couple of sweet baby rays with your order. read more

So I made some suggestions and they said they were open to it but I see nothing has changed. possibly the worst barbecue i've ever had in my life. my husband and i got there while they were still setting up and opening so we had some time to look at the menu and decide what we wanted to get. we went with the combo 3 - brisket, pork ribs, chicken with mashed potatoes and mac n cheese as our sides. we were super excited to try this place once we saw a post on sgv eats, but damn. everything was so dry and flavorless it literally hurt to swallow the food. service was whatever's, the lady that helped us seemed a bit out of it.... definitely would not come again read more
