food truck was located at the end of the target parking lot in rosemead on hart ave. the service was decent, i have nothing to complain about. you get to watch the cook, make the food in front of you, tapenyaki style. the fried rice was FIRE. it was sooo good. i wish they put more meat in. i got the steak bowl medium rare and for a small piece of steak most of the middle pieces were medium rare but the little pieces on the edge were more like well done. which is understandable it is pretty pricey here so get ready to lay down a few if you come down with a big group, but for your average food truck it's a normal price. i have the pricing in the pictures attached. in terms of vibes, this is where u come if you're craving a snack before a mildly bad meal with your friends *speaking from experience* or when you're having the munchies yk? i would come back for the fried rice fs.

Fantastic! Ordered our food and walked to get a drink and came back and the food was ready! Super fast! My wife was holding the order and told me to feel how heavy the two containers were. To my surprise they were FILLED with food. It was a very nice portion and the flavor was great! Sauces are extra but that is to be expected. The Yum Yum sauce is as described, yummy. We will be coming back

El Barba Lobster Combo with No Lobster

Ordered the $52 Lobster Combo, when I was ready to eat it and didn't see any Lobster. I went back to the Truck and asked where's the Lobster. The Cashier told me they ran out of Lobster and doubled on the cheap Chicken. Wait I was never informed that they ran out of Lobsters or I would have requested a Refund. Also would have been nice to customers know instead of making decisions on their own. As far as I know Lobsters are more expensive than Chicken. This is pretty bad. No partial refund or even asked if I want to cancel or replace a substitution.

I've eaten several times at this truck and the meats are really good. The rice, on the other hand, is the complete opposite. At this point, it's 3/4 of the time that it comes out way too mushy and wet, making me lose my appetite. It also doesn't help that it's 50-75% of the rest of the plate. The chicken is usually a little overcooked and the steak is also a bit more well than what you ask for. I'm not sure if it's because they're nearing the end of their day or what, but the rice has become a deal-breaker with the prices they have now. The service is alright, and the wait time is reasonable for what you're getting. Since it's around 10:30pm that I can go, the lighting from the truck is nice. Most of the times I've gone it's been pretty chill. Although a small handful of times I have had other customers make some sort of racial comment towards me, I chalk it up to more bad luck and timing than the truck itself, though. Based on my experiences alone, I can't really recommend this truck more than once in its current state.

The lighting is also mild in a good way as it's not too bright nor too dark. You have a great view of the open kitchen regardless of where you're seated. Parking - Plenty of parking in a huge lot. Parking lot is shared with a shopping center next door, plentiful of parking. After browsing their HUGE menu, we ordered the Mango Special Roll, Rainbow Battera, and CHIRASHI, all to share. All the ordered items basically came out at the same time. It was about a 10 minute wait which is not bad at all. The Mango Special Roll is definitely the star of the show. The variation of mango sweetness along with the cream cheese + Outer layer of Salmon is just perfect. My wife and I loved it so much that we're gonna make this at home at some point. 10/10 recommend to order this. The Rainbow Battera is a plate of pressed sushi, 6pc of pressed sushi rolls presented very neatly and is basically a mix of each fish in a roll. Each roll is different so take your pick of roll to eat. A unique take to sushi rolls but highly recommend. Fish contains Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, Albacore, Ebi Shrimp, Shiso Leaf, and Bonito. The CHIRASHI consist of 12 delicious pcs of 6 kinds of sashimi, ikura, masago, shrimp, tamago & seaweed salad on top of sushi rice. It was very flavorful and definitely a shareable dish. I was impressed with the variation of sweet + salty flavors. Overall, a great conclusion to our evening dinner. I loved each sushi plate and their extensive menu. Definitely coming back in the future to try other items like their ramen and udon bowls.

I like how efficient they are and will text you when you're up. The lighting is dimmed down, and chill instrumental music is playing in the background. I've tried Akami 2 times and I think you can't go wrong with their food. The chirashi also includes miso soup. Their fish is high quality and fresh. The only thing I was disappointed about was their matcha lychee mocktail. It sounded delicious but the lychee syrup doesn't mix well and the matcha was very subtle. It tasted like a sparkling watered down lychee drink. Service is great, staff takes dishes away to clear the table when you're done. Their parking lot is very small and is shared with other businesses but street parking is easy to find in the nearby residential areas.

This place has some items that are amazing and other ones that you can just do without…read more I came here for Dine La for lunch and here's what I felt about their menu. First off, the takoyaki octopus balls were full of flavor. I feel that this place does them really well. You don't feel overwhelmed by any seafood tastes and instead, you get well balanced flavor throughout every bite with the combination of the ball itself, the sauces and the flakes on top. Next is the omurice. The egg is cooked to perfection and tastes absolutely amazing. The curry, however, which was recommended by the waiter over the Demi glaze, tasted exactly like the Vermont curry cube you get in the grocery store, so I'm not sure why he recommended that over the Demi glaze. The fried rice within the omurice was alright too. Originally, I wanted to get the tonkatsu omurice but got it on the side as the choice wasn't available for the lunch menu. I would suggest doing without the tonkatsu because it was dry and there's a million and one places that can do tonkatsu better than this place. Honestly, I wish I had the opportunity to cut the omurice myself and choose how much curry I put on it, but the staff did that instead, which I guess made for a good video, but took away from my innate desires to cut the egg on my own haha. Next, the ramen tasted pretty basic like what you could get at any ramen shop. For the chicken wings, I've never had chicken wings in this flavor. They were really really good and I would definitely recommend the wings. For the desserts, I enjoyed both the matcha and the snow globe. I'm not sure what I enjoyed more, however. The snow globe is a gelatin and it doesn't really have too much flavor until you get to the parts with the flower. Plus the little clear balls have a nice flavor and texture. For the matcha, it has an interesting texture and then an interestingly light, yet deep matcha flavor. Oh the drinks. The Thai tea tastes exactly like how it does everywhere else. The amazing lemonade is a lemonade with a few slight modifications, like with cucumber and maybe some other things as well. For the service, it's pretty good here. Everyone is pretty attentive. There are three things at the table, such as cayenne pepper and two other bowls you can add to your dishes to add flavor. I forgot the name of the one I liked but it looked kind of like pork floss or loose tea, and that one had a lot of flavor. I think what's most appealing about this place is the ambiance because you can like sit in a honeycomb, there's fancy designs everywhere and you feel like you're in a different place. I think it's a good restaurant but it's kind of weird how some things here are amazing and some are just okay.

If you finish the bowl you can reveal if you get a free item next visit or not. The Amazing Lemonade was like the name, amazing. We were seated in a cozy booth and our server took our drink orders. Pop music from the 90s/2000s blasted from the speakers but it created a fun ambiance! Everything came out paced well and our server was awesome. We never went without and we were checked on plenty of times. Food was fantastic - the yellowtail tasted so fresh and the sushi rolls were "bomb diggity"!! Everyone enjoyed their meals and I wouldn't hesitate to return to try different items from their menu. There is literally something for everyone but the menu also isn't overwhelming. Parking was easy and plentiful on a Sunday afternoon. This was a 5-star meal for sure.

I almost didn't want to leave a review because the service was great but I do kind of have to share…read moremy experience because it was pretty unacceptable. Firstly, I do want to thank the staff here, they were incredibly courteous, polite, professional, kind and communicative with us. This kind of service is rare these days and while my experience was made a lot better because of their empathetic response, I still think the quality of food needs attention. To start, this spot is at a convenient location - right next to Regal theaters, plenty of parking nearby and none of that street parking metered crap. Definitely a plus. Prices are not cheap, rolls run you about $18 and the size was pretty small. We got a protein roll and a dragon roll as the menu indicates you buy one get one half off. Dragon roll was the skinniest, tiniest, most petite roll I've ever seen in my life and just felt like they cheaped out on it, which is kind of crazy since it's basically just a California roll... imitation crab is insanely cheap, it's not even real crab. Anyway... I ordered a Tonkotsu Ramen, plain - only egg & protein and when it was served to us, all I saw was a puddle of grease on top. For those who are unaware, Tonkotsu literally translates to pork bones, so while it is definitely a hearty/fatty broth, it shouldn't have a visibly separated layer of grease on top. You know when you reheat fettuccini alfredo and the oil separates in the microwave? It looked like that. I've tried various tonkotsu ramens - some better than others btw feel free to DM me for suggestions although the locations are not in close range - but none have had that visible grease layer. To be honest, I'm not really one to send things back, although I have picked up on the habit of not accepting crap food lately, so I didn't really mention anything to the waiter regarding the ramen. I slurped my noodles, ate my egg and chashu - both were OK. The chashu was seared and hard to eat, not the usual melt-in-your-mouth deal, and left the bland, greasy broth behind. Sucks because my favorite part of ramen is, of course, the broth. That's really the whole point. Moving on... I noticed my friend stopped eating her protein roll so I was like what's up? She looked at me a little worried and said she thought the salmon was off. I scrunched my face and was like dammit now I have to try this to make sure. Smell was not off, but took a bite of the salmon and that thing was bitter. We told the waiter and he was apologetic and said he'd talk to the kitchen. They said the fish came in yesterday and while I believe them, and could easily blame the heat we've been dealing with recently, we still felt unsafe finishing the food. I appreciate them showing concern for the issue with the food and no reports of food poisoning so far - been like two days now so I'm sure we're fine. Brings me to our total of about $50. Damn. I know sushi and ramen aren't typically cheap items but the quality was nowhere near standard and unfortunately this experience was enough to dissuade me from coming back. I don't want to nitpick, but I just like giving peeps details on certain things so their experience may not come as a surprise, but the general atmosphere of this spot was also a bit... different. They were playing loud music, I recall hearing 500 Miles by the Proclaimers super loud and I was kind of like dang man it feels like I'm right in the heart of Tokyo... /s There are much, much, much better spots for ramen and for sushi, there is literally an actual Japanese restaurant right across the street from Kopan and I'd bet money you'd get way better food for more or less the same price there. Also Burger Bun is in the same plaza, place is also fire, I'll drop that review separately. TL;DR: food bad, expensive, fish off, service good, decent parking, convenient location

The service was friendly and attentive without being overwhelming, and the staff kept everything moving smoothly even when the restaurant became busier later in the evening. The fish tasted fresh, which is always the most important part for me at a Japanese restaurant. The salads were also surprisingly good -- fresh, crisp, and balanced well with the rest of the meal. The sushi rolls were nicely prepared and flavorful without feeling overly heavy or overloaded with sauce. The agedashi tofu was decent but a little underwhelming compared to the rest of the dishes since the batter felt a bit too thick for my preference. I usually prefer very authentic Japanese restaurants and flavors, so the taste here felt more on the casual side for me, but it was still enjoyable overall.
