After work I was very hungry after a hard of work and this rainy day I need a good hearty meal. I decided to go to Duke's a coworker recommended Duke's he say the burgers are very good and also Mexican plates. I decided to go it's a short distance from work. I got there then I step in and I look at the menu display and a Duke's staff hand me menu and Look at careful to see what to order. Then I made decision to get the pastrami combo with fries and drink. Duke's always get busy in the restaurant and drive thru. They call my number and one the staff brought my meal to my table they were very polite. I took a bite of the pastrami very juicy and tender was the pastrami and flavors were great in each bite. The fries were very crispy that I like I enjoy my meal. The staff of Duke's were very and Polite and always there if you something that you need. Not sure if management changed and how many times, but they said it's been here for decades and it one of the few places where they told me I could find a salad in the area, haha. It has a pretty eclectic menu with a Mexican influence and the place itself kind of feels like a fast food place / fast casual complete with drive through. Think of like a Norm's or something in terms menu, but serving out of a building / process of like a Burger King. I actually didn't get the salad...I got a breakfast burrito. It came with a cup of salsa and was pretty darn large. It was good and it came with a cup of salsa. Definitely would come back and seems to be one of the more popular lunch spots in the area. Continuing my family's quest for the best $10 burger in the San Gabriel Valley, we returned to Duke's after 15-year absence. I must report that the establishment has improved. Cleanliness. Service. Friendliness. And, most importantly, FOOD! Their Duke's Super Burger at $9 is what I ordered, with generous zucchini fries at $7.59, and ZeroCoke. The DSB includes bacon, avocado, cheese, onions, pickles, tomato, and generous lettuce. A handful! I could have asked for double patties but it was not on the menu. I would have paid for one. In the area, I recently dropped here for some breakfast/coffee and left very satisfied. The portions are generous and cooked to order. The scrambled 3-eggs were cooked nicely, the link sausages were grilled right, and the potatoes were satisfying. My sourdough toast was placed on top of my food and one slice turned crumbly but I overlooked this and still gobbled up my plate. Overall I was teated royally by the Duke's courteous and helpful staff. The clean dining area was a little noisy with regulars but after a while I didn't notice because I was enjoying my coffee, my eggs, and reading my phone.
