It is a super cute wooden station at the Fountain of Youth that we visited today. You place your order. They give you a buzzer and you pick your table of choice and wait a short time and voila! It is outside seating only. I had the Pulled Pork sandwich with Mac n Cheese, which was amazingly delicious!! Tender, juicy and not overly spicy. The Mac n Cheese was one of the best that I have tasted. My daughter had the Crab Cake sandwich with Mac n Chrese. She loved it! We are here on vacation but we will try to come back again before leaving. You've got to try it! read more

Very limited menu and the only restaurant on the Fountain of Youth park. My wife had the cuban and baked beans as a side. She enjoyed the Sandwich and thought the beans were very good. Very limited selection of drinks. I had the Nathan's hot dog on a bun, They have no chili to put on the dawg to add some test to it. Very filling that is for sure. I had the Mac & Cheese as a side. My grandmother would roll over in her grave if she saw this. Not using elbow macaroni and the cheese is like a thick soup very unappetizing. People get crazy over the use of cheese on Mac & cheese. Nothing else stood out about this place Like I said the only place to eat so think carefully. Service was good then again on the screen they ask for you to consider a tip for what taking my order. Came here for the first time and the establishment is a nice cozy wooden hut. They have wooden benches here to sit and chow down. I haven't ate Smoked Southern BBQ food in a while so I was really looking forward to try out the food here. I was a little bummed out on the turkey here. I didn't expect it to be like cold cuts. I was more expecting to be grilled pieces of turkey. The sides were delicious though. The sides came with. Old slaw, baked beans and BBQ sauce. (In the photo: bits of pulled beef and onions were food my relative shared with me so don't mind that). The portion of this platter was a lot which I loved! Located in the parking lot of the Fountain of Youth, Smoked Southern BBQ is part of the Chop Shop and Preserved umbrella, meaning their food is absolutely wonderful quality. The menu provides a nice assortment of BBQ classics, as well as apps, salads, burgers and sandwiches. BBQ platters come with a meat, cole slaw, beans, pickled onions, and toast. No substitutions please. I was in the mood for something lighter, so I ordered the house salad (with spring lettuces, carrots, cucumbers, and pickled onions) and a side of cheese curds, ranch on the side. Both were perfect. My husband had the ribs, which were large with lots of meat. Great picnic table seating, and if you're lucky, you'll get to see the peacocks strolling around! read more

We were pleasantly surprised with Smoked. We thought with it being in the Fountain of Youth park, however, the food was delicious! The fries were fresh and crispy. Spouse said pulled pork sandwich and BBQ sauce was tasty! MIL said her grilled chicken sandwich was delicious. I had the turkey club wrap, it exceeded my expectations with the arugula, pickled red onions, cheese, bacon, and Turkey, then it was grilled, so yummy! Also had their sweet tea, it was delicious! The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the tables look dirty. It would be nice if they were wiped down frequently so the table doesn't look so dirty. The place is inside Fountain of Youth . My beef briskets salad was very tasty as well as my wife pulled pork platter. The most surprised menu is Fried Crabs cake, it was pretty good. I suggested you to tried it. One of the best crab cake I ever eat. The price was more reasonable than big restaurant but the taste is even better than some of them. My friends and I ate here after a fun morning at the Fountain of Youth and really enjoyed it. I know it's a BBQ place, but they have a turkey club wrap and a couple seafood options too. I got the crab cake appetizer and substituted the salad for fries. It was delicious! I had two big, crab filled flavorful crab cakes, hot crispy fries and housemade ranch. The sitting area has many picnic tables and it's shaded so that is always nice to have a break from the Florida heat. The service is fast and friendly. Parking can be tight because it's right outside of an attraction, but if you can find a spot or get off the hop on and off trolley I highly recommend visiting! Rating from a F to A+++ I give it an A+++. read more

It's not a full service restaurant, you get your food when you get your food and you don't have to leave a tip after. It's good food and if you don't find it good, look at the receipt and see how much you paid for it. I can guarantee it's not expensive enough (if at all) to come on here complaining about it. The fries are the breaded type and they were made after I ordered and still came out quickly. The guy that took our order and served our food was very friendly. My office picked up to-go orders for lunch today, so I did not dine-in for this experience. The good: the mustard vinegar sauce was delicious, the baked beans were perfect, and the fries had awesome flavor. The prices are super reasonable, too. The not-so-good: the brisket was super dry, the fries were soft and a bit soggy since the to-go containers don't allow for ventilation, and the coleslaw didn't have much flavor. Truthfully, as someone that grew up in Missouri, I don't know that it's even fair for me to review barbecue establishments, but this one was just average. read more

Great beef brisket. Glass of sangria was filled 1/3 over top with ice, so very little beverage. When I asked for a second drink, with my glass still full of ice, I asked not to get so much ice on the second pour. Manager (maybe owner) said if we give you less ice, we'll also give you less sangria. Seemed rather cheap natured. read more

The BBQ is AMAZING! Many may not know but this place is run by a James Beard nominated chef. For a $12 platter two can eat. The servings are very healthy and the team is overly sweet. I'm Texan and tried this restaurant. what can I said about this is.. My BBQ foods are literally better than what that restaurants have to offered to us. I tried to eat Brisket and it does lose my appetite due to thickness of brisket and it doesn't cook through as supposed to be. Also the Pulled Pork is one of my favorite foods to order in many locations. Until that restaurant, which I did ordered as well. End up, food isn't that ready and taste like Cafeteria serviced to students. Need improved on foods. We discovered this hot spot when we came to see the Fountain of Youth. Perfect location to grab the attention of hungry tourists, like us! We enjoyed pulled pork and the ribs were among the best we've ever had. Washed it down with a cold beer and it doesn't get much better. Picnic table seating was plentiful and offered shade from the afternoon sun. We met several people who live in the area and dine there frequently. Great location as you exit the Fountain of Youth park. Prices very affordable and portions are almost too generous. Kids had the order of 10 smoked wings. Not bad at all, especially for the price. Sitting in the parking lot of the Fountain of Youth Archeological Park, I expected this place to be your usual snack bar fare from frozen foods & pre-made stuff. Oh no no!!! The food is high end, copiously proportioned, curated, and very reasonably priced. I would stop in there for a lunch or early dinner just because the food is good (and I'm in the food industry, lived in France for 10 years so my standards are high). I had the Chicken Burrito with field greens, pickled red onion (made on site), chicken and a whole lot of other things that made my taste buds zing. My husband had a salad that was chock full of meat and he said was incredibly fresh. (There is plenty of sit down room outside in the shade on stools and tables. It is outside the park so you don't need to buy tickets to access the restaurant.). If you are lucky, one of the resident peacocks will amble on by or give a feather show. St. Augustine has a lot of great food but this was the find of the trip. Just goes to show what can be done when someone is paying attention and cares what they serve at a great price. read more
