We took our family of 6 in, and just loved it! The owner came out and visited with us, and the staff was super friendly and helpful!The brisket was just what we hoped for, not overly smokey, but tender and flavorful! And twice baked potatoes were yummy!!!!! Overall, a wonderful experience! We truly enjoyed ourselves and left FULL! It was delicious! The food here is AMAZING!! Everything from the side items, to the sandwiches, to the platters are great every time. The MOstrami STL is my favorite. If you are looking for COLD TASTELESS Food you have found your destination! The atmosphere as you walk in makes you think you are entering a BBQ "joint" but the first clue should have been no smell of smoke or BBQ. Went there last night for a family dinner and not one meal served a temperature other than COLD. The brisket was a small portion and a third of that was congealed fat (and yes it was as bad as that sounds)- the brisket was so tough that you could not cut it with the knife and fork provide, properly cooked brisket should not require a knife. The online menu was nothing close to the actual onsite menu. The Texas Potatoes were al dente but that only added to the horrible experience of eating them cold. The baked beans were again cold and flavorless. The garlic bread was stale. You have to do your own table service including finding the sauces, cutlery, drinks and a sticky dirty table and then you are asked for tips BEFORE you eat - I guess that is because if they wait until you leave there is a 100% chance of not receiving one. To add insult to the highly overpriced experience I drove past Bandanas BBQ to get here. read more

We found this restaurant on yelp. We drive from Chicago to Tenn. often and we were looking for something different so we read your reviews and stopped in and we are so glad we did!! We loved the industrial meets cowboyish decor, it was new and sparkling clean!! Everything was hot, homemade and delicious!! I had pulled pork, twice baked potato which was fluffy underneath the top and applesauce. The pulled pork was delicious, no fat and just the right amount of smoke!! The baked beans were thick and had pulled pork, peppers and onions in them. YUM!! My husband loved his ribs and he also enjoyed the double baked potato and beans. The garlic bread is a cheesy and soft where it should be and crusty around the edges! Soo good!! The applesauce is delicious if you love cinnamon which I do so it was a win for me!! We missed out on the broccoli casserole since it was gone for the day but I will try it another day because we will be back!! Mark and Eva have a fantastic place! Stop by have a meal and say HI!! The decor and atmosphere are gerat, food and service five star. The evening I was there the pit master came out and visited with the guests, being in business myself that was impressive and something we don't see often in this area. Being originally from Austin, Texas I judge first by the beef brisket. I realize I'm in pork land now and definitely what you should order most places because the brisket tastes like roast instead of smoked brisket. Well let me tell you....this smoked brisket is great and I already want more. I got to sample several things and everything was great....l could have eaten all of it. The brisket chili, chicken, Turkey, pork and sides were great. Deserts from "Blue Owl" famous from the Food Network shows that have featured them are always a treat. I want to thank the employees and pit master for making our visit an event I can't wait to repeat often, I will share with everyone I know. All of the bbq is great, but the Mangia Bene is beyond great. If you've never been, order that first, then move on to the brisket and turkey on your next visit. All of their sauces are great too. The white, horseradish-y sauce is fantastic. It's a bit pricey, but it's really worth it. The ribs are probably the best in Jefferson County. Some of the sides could be better, but it really doesn't matter in the end as the bbq is the best. read more

After having been to Smokee Mo's five times now I feel the need to update my original review. The food is still fine, but the service is pretty bad. On both my second and third visit, I was charged the wrong amount, which they did eventually refund. Today was my 5th visit and after two of my kids ordered fries as a side the server screams, "We have all these sides home cooked daily and you people insist on ordering the fries!". Thanks you for ruining our $50 meal Mr Smokee Mo's employee. The reality is that the fries are very good and the portions of the other sides are very small. That's why people order fries. Getting all high and mighty about your other sides just makes me never want to return, which is what is going to happen. Adios Smokee Mo's. read more

So disappointed after reading such great reviews. The service was good but the food was so dry. We had pulled pork, brisket, and pulled chicken and all the meat was dry and had very little little taste. The sauce was ok but I wasn't impressed. We had Mac n cheese, broccoli casserole, baked beans and twice baked potato, the only one that wasn't dried out or over cooked was the potato. Will not be going back so disappointed. read more

The food is incredible! We have already been here several times and will be back many more! Everything we have tried has been amazing! All of the sides are homemade and the meats are prepared throughout the day instead of being cooked and then reheated and you can certainly tell! The meat on the ribs fell off the bone when we picked it up, and unlike many BBQ places I did not need any sauce at all to flavor the brisket or the chicken. All of their desserts are from the Blue Owl which is also nice. In addition to the amazing food, the customer service is phenomenal which just adds to the whole experience! It seems that subpar has become the new normal and when things are just OK people are satisfied, this place is certainly breaking that way of thinking! read more

We visited for the first time last night and was very impressed with the decor and cleanliness. You went through the line cafeteria style, no waiting for a server. That was really quick. Liked how they offered craft beer along with local favorites. The employees were nice and the owner was very welcoming and friendly. Now for the most important part, the food!! We enjoyed the sides very much and they seemed homemade. We had broccoli casserole, Mac and cheese and baked beans but the portions were so small it left us wanting more. We were also served a little nub of garlic bread. The turkey was flavorful and tender however the beef brisket (the main reason we went there) lacked seasoning,smoke flavor and was tough and dry. Very disappointing. We will try it once more though and hopefully the brisket will be more of what we expect. We spent $40 for two which I don't feel was a good value at all. read more
