Came back here last week and i swear the twice baked potatoes were better than when i first came! I also had some collard greens and OMG they were amazing!!!! They were actually some of the best ones ive ever eaten and def the best Ive EVER had at a restaurant. i wish i lived closer to this place. My only complaint is that the brisket was a little on the dry side this time and the entire fat cap had been removed. I dont know if its removed before or after but my coworker was with me from Texas and he wanted the fat. I also can agree that the fat is where the flavor lies. So Mo, just keep that in mind for the brisket lovers that may pass through :-) read more

Get out of Arnold and try other barbecue places please. I thought they were overpriced, the brisket was a little tough and tasteless, almost like it was boiled then smoked for an hour or two to try to get some flavor. One visit was enough for us. read more

Drove by this place a few times and finally stopped in. So glad I did, the food is on par with any of the better known BBQ joints here in town. We ordered: ribs, brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, baked beans, green beans (wow), garlic bread, and slaw. everything was well done. The Carolina style vinegar style sauce was really tasty. We didn't try their White BBQ sauce but will next time. Well done and since they are close we will be hitting them again. read more

Fast/friendly service, had the turkey it was awesome, also had the pork steak, and pulled pork. The pulled pork was good, good smoke flavor and tender and moist. Only complaint which is minor would be more seasoning. The pork steak was tender just wanted more seasoning. Sides were good too, twice baked potato was the stand out. I discovered this place the last time I went home to St. Louis and I was so glad that I did. I would put it up there with Adam's and Bogart's for sure. I got some pulled pork, a few ribs, garlic cheese bread (I think that came with it iirr), a cheesy broccoli casserole, and some other sides. The ribs were very smoky and tender and the pulled pork was pretty smoky too. The sides were all excellent. Never a disappointment when you order for pick up, use DoorDash or eat in the restaurant. Everything is always amazing!! I brought my in-laws there when they came to town, they are now looking forward to the next trip to St. Louis and have already asked to go there for dinner. It's part of the "tour" for all of our out of town guests. Today I used DoorDash and unfortunately something was wrong. I called Smokee Moe's, not only did the very nice guys at Smokee Moe's offer to bring it to me, they threw in a few extra surprises! Food is outstanding, the people who work there are just as great. Decided to try this place for take out and man I tell you I'm quite impressed.... I ordered the large brisket sandwich and it came with one side. The brisket was as juicy and tender as I have tasted EVER and had the perfect amount of smoke on it..... BBQ sauces were good as well, I only wish there was one with a bit more heat but most will find that they like what is here just fine..... I am anxious to see what else is hiding behind the rest of what is a very good looking menu. If your thinking BBQ in Arnold this is it, you will like what you see. read more

Good BBQ is hard to come by in this area. These guys do a pretty good job. I'm a brisket fan and their portions are much better than other places. The brisket is a 4/5 and I'm a pretty tuff judge on brisket. I've only had a 5/5 brisket before and that was in Naples Florida off a food truck surprisingly. Their sides seamed bland the first few visits but it appears they revamped them and are now definitely better. The homemade sauces are ok. The baby back ribs are good as well, I would prefer a more flavorful dry rub and the membrane removed but I'm not sure if any BBQ shop does that due to time constraints. That's just a personal preference at that level. Go there and enjoy, you won't be disappointed. The employees are very friendly and willing to help explain their products. Very, very good. I got the turkey sandwich with potato salad. I purposely got the potato salad because it's hard to get a really good potato salad in a restaurant. The potato salad is the best I've very had from a restaurant. It was tasty with all the right seasoning and no skimping on ingredients. The turkey sandwich was tender and moist. There were 5 different sauces to chose, ranging from sweet, smokey, mustard, spicy and one other. My kiddos got fries with their pulled pork sandwiches. They liked their sandwiches also, the fries were seasoned and delicious. The eating area was very neat and clean, looks new with amply seating, nicely decorated. We have enjoyed their food BUT... we placed an order for Memorial Day weekend and the order taker entered the wrong date. My wife repeated the date but still entered for Monday not Sunday! When I went to pick it up a man insisted that they do not make mistakes. SURE. He said they could fill the order which the did, including two large slabs of FAT on the brisket. Very good barbecue! They give us the hook up at work on Saturdays. For about 200 bucks they bring us food for 20 people it's great!!

Delicious!! The pulled pork was pulled out of the oven and "pulled" apart as we ordered. Doesn't get more fresh than that! All of the sides we have tried were excellent too. And very easy on the wallet. read more

This is my second time enjoying the awesome food at Smokee Mo's. This visit i had a pulled chicken sandwich with the best green bean casserole i have ever tasted as my side. The chicken was very tender & had a nice flavor, i added some of the house Mo's sauce to my chicken along with some BBQ sauce. The Mo's sauce is a horseradish Mayo combo. My friend & I split an order of the nachos with pulled chicken on it. The nachos are covered in baked beans & spicy cheese, i added a bit of the St. Louis sweet BBQ sauce to my side. The owner was here this evening & was handing out samples of the home made Italian sausage, it was so good that after we finished dinner i went and got one to take home for lunch tomorrow! My friends Large brisket sandwich with a twice baked potato was so good he could not stop talking about it through the whole meal. Cant with to go back I heard people in line asking if they had any meatballs today, definitely want to try that! Skip it. Dark, loud, poor acoustics. Food eh to disappointing. Ordered the burnt ends. Yeah, they weren't. There was no burnt ends on the plate. It was some pork chunks in some gross runny sauce slopped on top of mashed potatoes that were slopped on the plate. Both the potatoes and the meat sauce (how gross is that, meat sauce) were dripping off the side of the plate. The most unappealing dish I've seen. Dog food would look better. Served with Cheese garlic bread and baked beans. Beans slopped in little paper boat that was overflowing down the side. Again, very unappealing. Garlic bread was hard, had little to no flavor. I tasted neither cheese nor garlic and was overcooked. I did taste everything. It tasted as good as it looked. Ick. I returned it and asked for a hamburger. Burger was good, but again was served with crappy baked beans overflowing in a boat. Cheese on burger was bland and tasteless. Guy served burger, walked away, saying nothing about the $5.50 cost difference between what I paid and what I got. I had to ask cashier. Somehow magic math told her the difference between $13.99 (cost for burnt ends) and 8.99 (cost for burger) $4 even. No, its $5.00 plus tax. Not only am I disappointed in this place, I'm disappointed in friends who recommended it to me. I guess if you like slop, this is your place. read more

Tender and yummy BBQ! Hubs had turkey sandwich, coleslaw, and Texas potatoes. He enjoyed all of it. I had porksteak (HUGE!!!!), Texas potatoes, and carrots. Amazing!!! Nice look on the inside and absolutely wonderful smoked brisket!!! I had the mo's nachos loaded down with the brisket and it was awesome. The only down side to this whole place is the limited parking. We were in a large moving truck so we parked at auto zone next door and it was well worth the stop. read more

Definitely deserves 5 stars in my book. First off the theme of the restaurant with the Three Stooges had me sold. Then I tried the food and wow... blown away. This is St Louis's best Bar-B-Que restaurant. This is known for the sandwich: Mange Bene. It is too big to eat and I like to eat. The meat is very tender and the garlic cheese bread is the Bomb. This place has been open for awhile and somehow I missed it. Ordered 8 oz of brisket with 2 sides - cole slaw and baked beans. Talking to the man at the counter about BBQ and he gave me a free side of chili. Also ordered a 1/2 slab to share at the table. The place looks very similar to Sugarspice, even the location of drinks before you get to the counter. The food was exceptional. Brisket was smokey and hand cut into thick slices. It was very tender with a nice smoke ring. Beans were chock full of meat and sweet. The ribs were dry rubbed, nicely sweet and little spicy. Several home made sauces on the condiment counter, including Carolina vinegar, and white BBQ. I was very pleased with the portion size, quality of food was very high. Great effort goes into every product. I was able to find the owner, Eva, and we talked BBQ for a few minutes. She is very proud of her restaurant and it was fun talking to her. Family behind the counter, including several young people. Very happy with this place, very accessible for those of us who live in south county. read more

Food is always delicious. However, some items are often cold. We have been here multiple times after being recommended and the temp of the food has always been consistent-not exactly warm. Sides on the line especially and some of the main entrée items. Maybe better temperature control of the food is something to look into for management/ownership. As I read through some of the other reviews I shake my head and ask myself, "Did I really go to the same restaurant as these people?" I love BBQ and haven't ever been so let down as I was by Smokee Mo's. My husband and I had been looking forward to checking it out, and we finally got the opportunity last Saturday. It was very crowded, which I took to be a good sign. We both ordered the pork platter. He ordered a large, while I ordered a regular. We both got the same size scoop of greasy, fatty pulled pork. (Of course, that didn't stop the cashier from charging us for 2 large portions.) For sides, he had the twice baked potato, I had the broccoli casserole, and we both had baked beans. Everything but the broccoli casserole was cold. Not lukewarm, seriously cold. The portions of the sides were so small they seemed more like a sample. The food was quite expensive for minuscule portions, with a bill totaling over $30. Needless to say our experience was bad enough, I won't try it again. read more

I was looking forward to having bbq on the 4th of July. First time here and I ordered the burnt ends platter. The meat was way too salty. I am an out of towner that found this restaurant on a random Google search. And it was the best thing I've done in a long while! We walked in close to closing, but were welcomed by a warm, social staff. The food came to us quickly and was hot and fresh. In a word, this place was PHENOMENAL! The meat was perfectly smoked, the sauces were unique and delicious and the sides were amazing on their own. The portions were HUGE and the atmosphere was great, with old episodes of the three stooges playing on the TV. As we told the staff how amazing the food was, the owner came out and we chatted for awhile. Not only did we enjoy an absolutely perfect meal, we were made to feel very welcome by the owner of the restaurant!!
