This is my go to place for brisket in southern NH. They also have something here that i can't find anywhere else: Hog Wings. Get them dusted. You won't regret it. To start with, I love another bbq place in NH and will periodically drive 40+ minutes to get their food. I watched this place open and drove by it way too many times before I had time to stop in. I am glad that I finally did! Now I can get a bbq fix without a 1/4 tank of gas. I had the brisket sandwich and 2 sides. Nice moist lean meat, generous portions, on a lightly toasted brioche bun. For sides I chose the hush puppies; an excellent job on those, not too dry and a good sub for your cornbread fix. The coleslaw reminds me of a cross between Popeye's and KFC, a little bit of chopped pickle or maybe pickle relish + a little on the sweet and wet side. They automatically will serve you a nice crisp pickle spear on the side that's a mild-ish dill. They offer housemade sauces and (recycled) paper towels on every table (plus salt & pepper). I tried the Bourbon and the Lil Spicy and both were quite good! I think the spicy may be a bit more than "lil" to some folks, so try a dab before you slather it on. They also offer a Chicken Paste, House Sweet, and Haus Gold (mustard based). Cooler drinks and draft beers are the libations! I had an iced tea. The counter staff was very upbeat and friendly. The prices were very reasonable for BBQ. I paid $14.48 for my meal with beverage. I honestly could have split it with someone I didn't get to try the bread pudding, too full haha. They had a couple of specials on the board; today listed a poutine that sounded amazing with maple bacon, but I couldn't handle that by myself. I will just have to drag some friends along next time. You can sit inside or out, plus there is a short bar counter also. Plastic utensils are conveniently right by the register and aren't the flimsy ones! They do keep it pretty clean at the tables. While I sat outside someone came and checked all the tables for sauces and a wipe down where needed. Looked clean inside as well. So kudos to Smokehaus giving me a new go-to! read more

Extremely disappointed. I assume I received the last of the last scraps of brisket as they posted it as all gone on the board after I completed my order. Also marked as all gone was chicken, chicken wings, and pork. I am dumbfounded how on a Friday night a business could be out of meat before dinner is even served. Not sure where to start..I pulled into Smokehaus while heading back east on 101 for. Quick bite to eat, and grabbed their Brisket Sandwich with the Maple Bourbon sauce on the side and Hush Puppies. The brisket was cooked very nicely but lacked a lot of flavor. The bark was tasty and held lots of flavor unfortunately that's where the flavor ended. I gave it a try with the maple sauce to see how they paired. Yeah "No Bueno"..the sauce is confusing for me..not thick enough to be a bbq sauce and has a taste of beer and chili pepper flavor not what I was expecting from a "maple bourbon" sauce. Lastly the hush puppies..I gave two a try and yeah not a fan. I found them to be dry and not sure what that was I found in one of them. We go by the Dublin location frequently and we saw the "Opening Soon" sign and decided to give it a try next time thru. Yesterday we stopped and we're glad we did. The restaurant itself is very nice. Not too upscale, just very comfortable and nicely appointed. The young lady who took our order was very patient since we weren't familiar with the menu. I ended up ordering the 2 meat combo with brisket and pulled chicken, with cole slaw and mac and cheese. The brisket was tender and flavorful and the pulled chicken was very good as well. Cole slaw and mac and cheese was VERY good. Could have made a meal out of the mac and cheese all by itself.The SO had a pulled pork sandwich and cole slaw and she said they were also great. Wandering NH on a day off. Glad we got here before noon - parking lot and tables were nearly full. It's the classic chalkboard menu, order at the counter place, with a few barstools and half a dozen tables. I got pulled pork platter with hush puppies and coleslaw. Hush puppies were awesome - right from the fryer, crunchy on the outside, perfectly cooked inside - yum! Pork was incredibly tender. I tried their house sauce and sweet sauce - both good, but didn't knock my socks off. Coleslaw was good - crunchy fresh with a slightly creamy sauce and some tanginess. The tang in it came from pickles, which I don't care for, but that's just personal taste. Hubby had brisket sandwich, which they offer fat or lean. Mr. No-gallbladder chose lean, and it too was falling-apart tender. He like the hush puppies, but was disappointed that they don't have cornbread. They have beer and hard cider to drink, along with bottled water, sodas and teas. Service is quick and friendly, food served on paper-lined metal trays. He reported the meat was dry, the roll fell apart and he found two pieces of cartilage in his sandwich. I ordered the wings, they were okay. The baked beans were delicious. Good BBQ they sell out often. I judge a BBQ place by the sides they serve first the only thing they are lacking is a good ol smashed potato. Love their beans although ther has been way to many onions one time cole slaw is top notch my kid enjoys the Mac and cheese. Fries are the crispy hand hit kind A+ I haven't tried everything on the menu yet I drive by ( at least I'll try to Drive by) haha. Man oh man, what a place. Drove about an hour and a half to go to a nursery close by and Yelped what was around. Smokehaus came up, reviews were great, so what the hell. Looked up the menu online and ordered over the phone. Food was super fresh when I arrived. Side note: I am SUPER DUPER picky about my sides when it comes to BQQ places and this place blew it out of the damn park. I ordered a pulled pork plate which comes with two sides and a massive slice of bread. First off, the pulled pork was so tender and had barely any fat in it. For sides, I chose the mac and cheese (which are always hit or miss with these places, mostly misses) and baked beans. LET ME TELL YOU RIGHT NOW, this is the first BBQ place that I've tried that actually has creamy, tasty mac and cheese. You could tell it was homemade with love. The beans were phenomenal. They had pieces of pulled pork in them with small onions that added a great and unique flavor. The only thing I would have to complain about is the sauces. I chose the maple bourbon sauce and it tasted too alcoholy (I know, not a word) for me. My mom had gotten the sweet sauce and it was much better. I appreciate a place who smokes their pork and doesn't douse it with sauce. They let me choose what (and how much) I want to put on it and that's a nice change. 100% recommend. This is an easy review. These people do things right. Meat quality has always been good. Sides are tasty. Beer is cold. Good variety of hot sauces for those who crave more acidity or spice. I really, really, REALLY, want to love the place. They're veteran owned (and the wife and I are both veterans) and the food isn't bad - when they have it.... For the longest time I've given them a pass as they just opened and feeling out the volumes. But, the last at least a dozen times I've called an hour or so before closing (mind you they close at 6:30) and they've been out of 2+ meets and often a few sides.... We started calling after going in only to find they're sold out of chicken and some other meet... Being the only BBQ place in the area we find ourselves wanting to stop by. Now, we're so frustrated at both the lack of availability and staff that just brushes off the constant shortages that we've just started going to Manchester or down toward Milford (passing right by them) to grab dinner. Honestly, I've toyed with opening a place down the street to fill the demand.... Been here twice in the last two months. Have to admit that I wanted to love their BBQ. Sadly I still feel that their fries were the best tasting menu item. The pulled pork meat was disappointing. Texture was off and the BBQ sauce was meh. 2nd time tried brisket (lean when offered a choice - who wants "fatty"??). It was not brisket like I know it. It was huge strips of dry meat with little flavor. Maybe my mistake for choosing lean but I do not enjoy fatty meat! And the hot BBQ sauce was watery and not very hot. Looked like they added horseradish but not sure. I've had BBQ all across the US. This left me wondering why all the great ratings. The majority of it was very fatty and the outer pieces were so charred and salty we couldn't eat it. About half of it was consumable. The half that wasn't burnt or fatty was actually very tasty. For $26.99 a pound we expected some nice leaner cuts of beef not what looked like bottom of the pan scrapings! read more

Food was decent with the exception of the chicken and pork being served cold. Very shortly after arriving all meat was sold out so the staff started closing up shop while we were still sitting at bar eating. Nothing like trying to enjoy your meal with the strong smell of a mop bucket 2 feet behind you. Also went to order a second beer to wash down my food but the register was shut down already, so I was basically told to go pound sand in not so many words. Food was ok but this dine in experience was total crap. I understand selling out of everything means time to close up shop, but maybe let the customers who are still there finish up before shutting everything down and assaulting their nostrils with cleaning products. read more

Amazing bbq with great value! The only mistake we made was going late on a Saturday night when a lot of the things I wanted were sold out- but that's just how good this place is! I imagine they smoke everything before opening and then when they're out- they're out! I will just have to take a return trip to try out those ribs. I got the brisket and you have a choice of lean or fatty. I chose the lean and it was a great piece of meat. Lots of smoky flavor and very tender. I tried the mac and cheese, which can sometimes be underwhelming at bbq places, but theirs is stellar. It has a rich creamy and flavorful cheese sauce. The beans were actually the highlight. The sauce was bursting with flavor and there was a ton of meat mixed in with the beans. Smokehaus has a lot of local beer options at a great price. Mac and cheese was great as well as the coleslaw. The Brisket was dry, I've eaten Brisket at many establishments and here was the only place I've had to use a dipping sauce to add some moisture. The Ribs were an extreme let down. I had to muscle the bones apart, leaving tough inedible meat. They tend to run out of their "best sellers" and should maybe plan better. Tonight was our 2nd attempt, we walked out the first when they were sold out. Not really planning on visiting again soon. *edit* While I appreciate the owner's response it does not explain the horrible ribs. I may believe that if I myself was not a cook, that yes makes ribs. Stopped in here for takeout lunch today, and got some amazing brisket and fries! The brisket sandwich - half "fatty" and half "lean" was delicious. Added some bourbon bbq sauce, which was very good. The fries were very tasty, just the right amount of crispness, and freshly made flavor. The staff was friendly and helpful. They had opinions and were willing to share them, which was good for me as a first-timer there. The decor is very cute, would love to stay next time, hopefully bring friends! Ok, I stopped in to try the ribs, last time I came here was later in the day and they sold out, now I know why! Usually ribs are smothered in bbq sauce, but this had a dry rub with very lite sauce baked on. The flavor was savory and what a rib should taste like, other bbq restaurants should take notice these are the best!! Also, had the best coleslaw with fries. I have been a regular at Smokehaus for about 18 months. I usually go once a week. I will preface my review by stating that I was born in NC and have relatives in Texas - so I have had some of the best barbecue in the US. Smokehaus delivers when it comes to the pride they take in delivering a unique barbecue experience that they believe in. I appreciate them sharing their journey with food and barbecue with southern NH. To all of the critics out there - does their barbecue check some of the same flavor profiles of the mesquites/hickory's of the south? Quite plainly, no they don't. But that doesn't mean you can't find satisfaction in the 'Que that they do. They make NH barbecue that is uniquely theirs. Barbecue is typically learned and perfected over time and if you take the time to listen to their experience you will grow to appreciate the process and their journey. My favorite protein is their brisket - I have had it with sauce and without - it is always fresh and I like how you can choose lean/fatty or a combination of both depending on your mood. I have also enjoyed their pulled chicken, pulled pork, chopped pork sandwich, hog wings and chicken wings. Also don't forget to check their specials - the riblets dusted are a favorite and the buffalo Mac and cheese and smoked mashed potatoes are also tasty pleasant surprises when they show up on the board. On the sweet side I have touted the fried bread pudding to friends who have told me they would drive from Manchester to get that alone. They have a good variety of sauces with something for just about everyone. I enjoy the sweet and the new lightning sauce which has a tangy/vinegar kick that is delicious on lean brisket. The staff and owners are extremely friendly and appreciative they really respect their customers and value their opinion. They are also always trying new sauces/sides and different specials - which keeps things fresh and shows they are always looking to grow and evolve. Good meals/dining experiences are worth driving to/planning for so please make sure you plan to get there early if possible so you can experience their offerings for the day with no limitations. Drove by this place everyday for the past 9 months and decided to stop by and grab a takeout, due to COVID-19, they are only doing takeouts, but I can see they might put some tables outside in the future? Staff were extremely nice and said they appreciated my business a few times. It was close to lunch time and I just walked into order, they are people waiting but my order was ready in about 10 mins if that. It's a nice place inside and and out. I finally stopped in to try this BBQ joint. I got a 2 meat combo (brisket an ribs) 2 sides baked beans and cream corn. Well first off, the cream corn was awesome the best I've ever had, the baked beans were good also. They have 3 styles of brisket and I got a mixed which is fatty and lean. The brisket was really good I'd definitely get that again. Now for the downer, the Ribs.....to me the ribs were about as tough as Chinese spareribs.....I was hoping the rib meat would just fall off the bone which that didn't happen. The meat was tough and I ate at the picnic table and the ribs were altogether and I had no knife and my hands were messy from taring the ribs apart. I will come back again and get the ribs.
