We walked into a simple counter-service space with limited indoor seating, the kind of place that feels more like a grab-and-go stop than a sit-down lunch spot. Even with its small footprint, there was a steady stream of customers coming in for one of the signature sandwiches, and the energy of the room stayed practical and focused on getting orders out efficiently. The lobster roll is the clear standout. We ordered one and found it generously filled with lobster meat, making it feel substantial compared to many other lobster rolls around the city. Whether you choose it hot with butter or cold with mayo, the focus stays on the lobster itself rather than overwhelming it with extra ingredients. The toasted roll added just enough texture without taking away from the filling. Although the lobster roll gets most of the attention, the rest of the menu offers plenty of options if seafood is not what you are looking for. There are oversized sandwiches, soups like clam chowder, and classic sides that make it easy to find something for different tastes. The portions are generous overall, making the prices feel reasonable considering the amount of food you receive. The service was quick and efficient, which fits the fast-paced counter-service concept. The staff moved through orders with speed, and the food came out without much delay. The biggest thing to keep in mind is the limited seating, especially during lunch hours or peak tourist seasons in the North End. If the dining area is full, taking your food to go or finding a nearby outdoor spot can be a better option. Overall, Pauli's is a great stop if you are looking for a satisfying lobster roll without an overly formal seafood restaurant experience. The generous portions, straightforward menu, and convenient location make it an easy place to visit while exploring the North End, especially if lobster rolls are at the top of your list.

Started with the buffalo wings and they were crispy and delicious And complimentary rolls and butter So good and I want the recipe for that bread it was delicious For dinner I ordered the spinach cheddar baked haddock. It was delicious and buttery! Husband got the prime rib. He loved that it was served with a thicker gravy rather than au jus that most places do. Medium rare and came out at the perfect temp. Dinner also comes with a side salad. You won't leave this place hungry! We are definitely coming back. They were busy but that's the be expected on a Friday night. So glad to see a local family owned business thriving.

The selection of entrée items is absolutely the most I've ever seen in a restaurant, it made it hard to decide. I asked the waitress and she said the chicken Cordon Bleu was one of the top items so that's what I picked. It was basic stuffed ham n cheese in the chicken breast, it wasn't breaded, which I liked. It was smothered in a kind of a gravy or white sauce, not quite sure what sauce it was. Hot fresh baked rolls, a basic chopped iceberg lettuce house salad and baked potato included. Also ordered was the chicken tender dinner, very plentiful, enough for 3 people I'd say. Sadly the dipping honey mustard was so bad, like salad dressing with vinegar flavor, not good! I had a glass of Merlot, I'm not sure I've seen an eight dollar glass of wine on a menu in the last decade, so that was pleasant. In general, the server was very efficient, the host not so friendly, and the place was spacious but has very dated decor, which some may consider part of its charm. Unfortunately we're sitting by some very noisy people, taking phone calls and playing sports out loud on their phones acting like they owned the place, kind of ruined atmosphere. But they knew the staff and must think that behavior was acceptable. Bottom line we needed to eat and it was food.

The interior has undergone a very nice upgrade, with wooden benches and a long bistro-style table in the center. It's very clean and bright, and there's now 3 single-person rest rooms (men's, women's, and a smaller general rest room). I was interested in something with some type of vegetable/fiber, rather than roast beef today, so I opted for a turkey sub (sliced turkey roll). I did sample a roast beef sandwich - the beef was good, I didn't care for the hot sauce. My sub was made by slicing the roll open on one side, wedge-style, then the turkey and cheese, then chopped tomatoes (as opposed to sliced), sliced red onions, lots of shredded lettuce, and then the oil and vinegar. Within seconds of attempting to eat the first half, it suddenly became "turkey and cheese on a sub roll and a side salad," as almost all of the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions fell out of the sub and onto the paper on in which it was wrapped. Good thing they have forks and napkins readily available! Good but messy. There's plenty of bottled beverage options in the cooler, including sodas and teas - so many that I almost couldn't find the bottled water! Still, it was nice to re-visit Harrison's.
