Enjoying our dinner with the singer

Food was delicious the ambience was great a beautiful restaurant . Friendly staff and owner. Had a great time. That night had live music with Gloria Rivera she was awesome.

Brisket Dinner

Overpriced & Underwhelming. I arrived at 5:45 pm with three other tables already seated in the dining room. It took about 5 minutes for someone to greet and seat me. I ordered the brisket dinner with bacon green beans and a small side salad. The salad came out quickly but the dressing had zero flavor. The brisket and green beans took a bit longer to come out. The brisket was very dry and had a strange flavor. I asked for some BBQ sauce. It came out in a small soufflé cup and was all sugar. The "brisket dinner", if you can call it a dinner, was $22 and the small side salad was $8. I am traveling for work and I wanted to like the place but unfortunately it was not good. I gave two stars because the waitress was very nice.

Lets talk BBQ!!! I grew up in the south so i know good BBQ. Went on a Monday night for dinner. Pretty quiet, LOVED the music. Nice, chill blues to get u in the mood for some smokey BBQ I had the brisket with the potato salad, BBQ beans and corn bread on the side. They have a selection of BBQ sauces u can choose from, I picked the classic. Brisket was good, a bit dry which is which im giving them 4/5 stars. The classic sauce was good, a tad bit too sweet for me. I cant wait to go back to try some other things on the menu!

Holy smokes

Had the holy smokes, took a bit we were the only customer 30 min but didn't mind once they brought food the chicken was hard the beef brisket was dry and the pork was stinky (a$$) food was bad will not come here again (microwave delight). The waitress was nice but forgot our nachos brought after main course wanted to try the pastries before i had the food after no thank if its going to be the same as good. To many places that are good skip this one.

Ordered the meat sampler, baked beans, Mac n cheese, cole slaw, green beans, smoked wings, and hot link. The smoked wings arrived first with a side of ranch sauce. We ordered plain rub style. Our initial take on them was that they were overcooked. The skin was hard and heavily seasoned. Yet, with all that, we kept coming back to them again and again. They seemed to grow on us as we ate more and more. Don't know if they are normally cooked so crispy, so may need to come back and try again. The meats we got in the sampler were all decent. Ribs were well seasoned, nicely cooked and we loved the rub! They came un-sauced, which is the preferred way. The pulled pork, brisket, and pulled chicken were all tender and decent. The real star of the meat show was the hot link. Deliciously smokey, tender and just wonderful. They offer two sauces, one regular and one spicy. The sauces were thin and tasty, a good complement to the meats. The Mac-n-cheese was good, but the real treat was the crumbled homemade tortilla chips on top. Could have used a lot more of those! The green beans were kind of a disappointment, but the other sides shined well enough to where it didn't bother us. Wouldn't get the green beans again. The cole slaw was wonderfully tangy and perfectly balanced. Really appreciated the effort put in that recipe. The baked beans were fantastically sweet and chock full of meat chunks. Outstanding. Bottom line: we'll be back whenever we're in town. It's worth a stop!

I love a great wood fire pizza and this place is excellent. Small with a few tables, but filled with so many choices for both pizza, other items, and drinks. Love that they have a great spot to sell out of a window to those visiting the park area for events (SMART). The choices for pizzas had me wanting all of them, but I finally settled on the Sticky Finger and the Joker. I was so impressed with the Sticky Finger that I still think about those flavors all together. It was a perfect fit for my palate and I loved it. The Joker was also great and the hubby loved it. We had a peach old fashioned to share (needed that before busting our butts on the ice rink, liquid courage) and the staff was excellent with keeping our waters filled and making sure we were well taken care of. PROS: Great spot downtown, next to event center areas Wonderful choices to fit all tastebuds in pizza choices Cocktail choices that are fun CONS: Parking, at the center near the ice rink (you can walk there though)

Huge stone pizza oven that they make so many delicious menu items in. We ordered the mixed greens salad with dried apricots, goat cheese & almonds. It came with a balsamic & oil dressing. The container was too small for the salad. It was difficult to add dressing without losing half the salad. I shook up the dressing, but the balsamic vinegar was stuck to the container. They gladly gave me another dressing. Pizza was great & so was the crispy crust. We got the roasted corn pizza. So delicious. Fresh cilantro & jalapeños. It tasted like the herbs & veggies were just picked. It's small, so sized for 1 unless you get more to eat. The key lime triffle was so good. Homemade whipped cream. Pound cake, & key lime filling was rich, but refreshing. Triple X root beer hit the spot too. We didn't have any cocktails, but the menu had many different kinds that sounded amazing.

We had to occasionally wait to ask for items such as plates for the appetizers. DRINKS- Old, sour, flat beer. Maybe the keg lines need to get cleaned out? Maybe the beer is just old? I don't know what it is but it just didn't taste right on tap or even in the can. Had a pungent with no carbonation taste to it. At least my mom liked her red wine. FOOD- Overall just alright and average. Seems to be a hit or miss. Calamari- Rubbery and hard to chew. I think it was over cooked Oysters Rockefeller- Tasted like a puke ball. There was only 5 of them. I couldn't even taste the Oysters as it was overwhelmed by other flavors. Tasted like buttery breadcrumbs. Chicken Noodle soup- Was told it is the "best" in Porter County. I got a cup. It was good but only half way filled. I think it needed more chicken. Chicken Parmesan- Sauce could have been better. Pasta was good Sausage and Mushroom Pizza- Thick raw crust on the bottom! Doughy and frozen pizza quality. The pizza looked good on the top but the crust on the bottom tasted raw and mushy. My brother said it was worse the a veggie lasagna from Gordon Food Service which we never even finished eating all of it. PRICE- Over priced for a "fancy" higher class restaurant. The bill was $95 for 2 appetizers, 2 entries and 4 beers and 2 glass of wine. How can this be a scratch kitchen with such a wide and diversified menu?
