I visited Andy's for a quick weekend dinner when I was in the area. It's a fast casual setup with a good amount of seating inside. The employee at the register did a great job answering any questions that I had. I placed my order for a Honey Garlic Half Chicken and some Spicy Fries. The food came out in less than 15 minutes, which I thought was very reasonable for made to order items. The meal was excellent; every part of it was great quality. The chicken maintained exceptional crunch and while still having a generous coating of sauce. Both the light and dark meat were tender. The Honey Garlic sauce had the perfect balance of sweet and savory garlic flavors. The Spicy Fries were also cooked to perfection with a delicious spice blend seasoning them. My experience at Andy's was great. Both the food and service are great quality. The eating area is clean and well-maintained. If you've had Popeyes Spicy Chicken sandwiches, Andy's tastes remarkably similar but is way more expensive and Andy's is much more mild. Pretty underwhelming for a place that bills itself as Korean inspired. No sandwiches with kimchi, food pretty flavorless and not spicy, etc. If you want Korean there's lots of better options, if you want spicy chicken there's a lot of better options. read more

Finally tried this place! I wanted to try this place since they opened and I finally had the chance to try their chicken. We ordered take out for half of hot and spicy and half of original. The chicken was ready for us to pick at the time as stated. When we got the chicken, I was so excited to try it! But after taking couple bites, we were running to get water! It was so salty and the hot and spicy was not hot at all, it tasted more like soy sauce based chicken. It was a huge disappointment but the meat of the chicken wasn't dry so we were able to finish majority of it with water. I didn't know Korean chicken was a thing. However, it's definitely it's my thing now. I was doing some work at the coffee shop across the street and noticed the place and on a whim I said, let me try it and take some home to the family. The place is fairly small, not a lot of tables, but I do believe I would like to try the food there next time. It's a 20 minute ride home, but still it was really good. The chicken was well fried and sauces were nice. The sweet chili was tasty, the hot and spicy was tasty but not so hot. Cole slaw and fries were decent. The staff was curteous and helpful. Came here from a recommendation of my husbands coworker. We can't resist trying out some KFC (Korean fried chicken). Apparently they have 3 locations, two in the city and this one! Glad we came though, we got 2 half chicken meals one with with "buttery rice" and another with onion rings. The buttery rice wasn't buttery but it was okay, they had fried egg on top. Fried eggs make anything better. The onion rings were homemade and were just ok, they didn't have a lot of flavor. The kimchi was a good side though I enjoyed that with my chicken and the rice. Now the chicken was very good! It was hot, crispy and we got the sauces on the side because for me you have to taste the chicken how it is! It's a good way to control the sodium too! Amazing Korean fried chicken. It's so GD good; super fast service as well. You really can't go wrong with any of their sauces, but I prefer mine without any - the chicken is juicy as hell and seasoned perfectly. The spicy pork is pretty kickass as well if you're not a fried chicken person and someone's pressuring you to try this place. Their original spot in Fishtown is amazing, so it was awesome when they branched out to the suburbs. Didn't feel like cooking so I decided to try Andy's our on my way home. I first just want to say they are the absolute nicest people ever. From the moment I walked I'm I was greeted warmly. While I pondered my selection I was extended the courtesy that I could ask questions if I needed to do so. I settled on the Sweet Chilli chicken with buttery rice as a side. I also got some fries on the side. The first then I tried were the fries. They were melt in your mouth delicious. My only complaint here was that at $3.50 the portion size was underwhelming. Not enough to share with a friend without wanting to smack their hand. The buttery rice was okay. The chicken was delicious with the standard crunch. The sweet chili sauce was the perfect accompaniment. I will definitely visit again as I want to try their bulgogi. read more

A new branch of Andy's chicken opened up in Jenkintown, which we were excited since we had never ventured into their other location before since it's really out of our way. I've always seen nothing but rave reviews about their chicken it always looks delicious, so now is our time to see if such was true. We ordered a half a chicken tossed in honey garlic with a side of sweet chili sauce which I poured all over my chicken. I will say the crunch and texture were stupendous. All the flavors coating this chicken were outstanding. It was hot and freshly cooked. Delicious in every bite. I for sure will be back since it's along our regular route. Some things have slightly changed over the years (French fries got a major upgrade a year or so ago) and some things have come and gone (wings are elusive), but the great chicken was always consistent. It was our favorite Korean fried chicken in the city and beyond. I don't know who made the decision to change the recipe but their chicken is now just like KFC, not at all like Korean double fried style. It now has thin breading and no crunch anymore. With the food they're serving, I really think they deserve to be busier! Korean Fried Chicken is dipped in a light batter instead of floured like traditional fried chicken, making for a lighter, crispy crust. I had the Sweet BBQ and onion rings. They might've given me Sweet Chili instead of Sweet BBQ because it tasted very Asian. They let you do a combo for like $12. The batter was light and crispy. I really liked it that way. The sauce was good and didn't overpower the taste of the chicken or the batter. The chicken was really moist except for the breast. I found it to be a little dry, especially compared to everything else. The onion rings were in a light batter as well and were very good. The chicken was super crispy and moist. My boyfriend said it was the best chicken he's had in a long time and could eat it every week! The bulgogi with rice was tasty, more of like a fast food version compared to bulgogi I have had in fancier Korean restaurants. It would be the perfect lunch if you had a hangover! This is the third location for Andy's and it seems to be just as consistently delicious as the original Fishtown location. We've gone twice in the first week of it being open and minus a minor hiccup (which I'll just credit to working out the kinks when first opening) everything has been crunchy, amazing, and delicious. Ken has been super friendly and helpful with putting in a large order ahead of time as well. We're looking forward to Andy's a little closer to home for years and years to come!
