We walked in and were seated immediately! Our waitress was amazing! Bubbly and on top of her game! Let me tell you we did not have to wait long for anything! She made recommendations on different items available and this cocktail Gettin Toasty y'all need to go get one before it off the menu. It was one of the best cocktails I've had in a long time. Our food came out hot and plated well very appealing. They do have noon specials if you are in town early and wish to have lunch here. Prices are very reasonable. I enjoy the ribs. I like that they offer several different sauce choices. Chicken isn't my fave. I was sad to see their spinach dip disappear. Please bring it back. We went near 4-5 pm not many people there (we love it) The staff was kind, portions we're plenty. Bar looks good multi sports on but no sound... (closed captioning) I ordered the Brisket and it was delicious.. some pieces were dry but overall very tasty... The cheese macaroni was cold again... this was my second time her in the last two months. Tried the pulled pork & Bourbon chicken... The chicken was fabulous, it's taste hit the spot. Staff was kind... price tag was $84. For two... it's definitely not cheap... Sometimes you just need BBQ.... They definitely need to warm up the side dishes to hot... not Luke warn otherwise it is what it is. My dinner order was the Pulled Pork Platter, ($14.99) and hooboy, it was a meal ! I washed it down with a bottle of Modelo which I thought was overpriced at $5.75. Since we moved here, we have wanted to try this place out. Unfortunately, it was not what we had hoped. First let's talk about the service. We were seated in a corner behind a wall. The place was pretty empty and since we couldn't be seen, it seemed like we were forgotten about. It wasn't until my son used the restroom that our waiter came over to take out order. While the waiter was friendly, he had to have been new. Poor guy was all over the place and very quirky. The food, was hit and miss. Some of it was decent and some horrible. Both my wife and I ordered a suasuage that was well overcooked and pretty much solid by the time it got to us. Almost impossible to cut thru, much less eat. It looks nice when you walk in. My husband ordered medium rare steak and it was soggy, total raw, looks stale, it was cold, steamed broccoli was over cooked. When we asked the server she said "I am sorry, you are not the first person to complain about steak today". She should have mentioned it before we ordered it but she didn't. I ordered chicken sandwich and it had too much onions in it with no cheese and the patties was stale, it messed my stomach. It was our first time there and hell the last time. i came in for a doordash around 11:30pm 3/11/25. it was for two brownie sundaes and two dr peppers. i wasnt greeted by anyone nor was i acknowledged, i made eyecontact with a woman(no idea who her name is, she was african american with her hair up) and i told her who i was here for and that its a doordash. she told me "it hasnt popped up yet" but it had been 10 minutes since i had gotten the order on my phone. i stood there patiently and i was asked by another worker (a male) if i was here for a pickup order. i responded "yes im here for a doordash, its two brownie sundaes and two dr peppers." then the woman who said they havent received it caught an attitude and said to him "i already told that girl i was gonna get that order for her! ive been working all day im tired. whoever that lady is behind her hasnt paid yet so ill take her first before the doordasher. some people are just stupid." 100% unassigned from the order immediately and left. lets just hope the young child in line behind me didnt hear what she said. shawty it isnt my fault your tired and it isnt my fault you didnt receive the order in time. i was just there to pick it up and i was as polite as i could be. whoever she is needs to lose the attitude and most likely her job. im out here working extra hours myself, i didnt deserve that. To start off I will say we have always had great service here. The wait staff has always been great and nice. Food is mediocre at best. Usually overcooked and underseasoned. The thing that really brings the bad review is how the staff is being treated by management. We walked in one afternoon and noticed the restaurant was very hot. It was cooler outside than in the restaurant (in July). We asked the waitress about it and she stated that the AC has been broken for over a month. You could see the waitress was dripping in sweat. She stated that management was not doing anything about it. There have also been two separate times we have came that we have watched management jump down the throat of wait staff in front of customers. Just very unprofessional in my opinion. read more

I ordered 2 meat combo with brisket & pulled pork thru Uber eats. The meal by itself was $40 (before any delivery charges, tip etc) which would have been fine with me if the quality was decent. Both the pulled pork and brisket were extremely dry & tasted microwaved. Dryness may have been helped by the bbq sauce that was supposed to come with it but they left that off the order. The street corn was the best part of the meal by far. I Was looking forward to trying Carolina BBQ, as I'm in town visiting family. I hope this isn't the standard for Carolina BBQ. read more

We are here earlier today. The place was dead when we pulled up which should've been our sign to leave. My husband ordered the ribs with roasted corn, beans, and smoked sausage- the ribs were okay, the roasted corn was disgusting. I ordered the 1lb blt. They brought it out 15 minutes AFTER they brought my husbands and kids food out. The tomato on the sandwich was non existent there were like 4 slices of those super small tomatoes and a crap ton of bacon. I had to ask for extra tomato and it took 10 minutes for our waiter to bring that out. He wasn't very attentive and went long stretches without checking on us or refilling our drinks. read more

I eat at Smokey Bones every time I come into town and have done so for many years. Love the food but most of all love the service. I usually request Chris when I come in. This young man is hands down the best server I've ever known. I've gone as far as offering him a job, which he declined due to the move he would have to make across the country. The food is consistent and fresh. The bar is great and the welcoming southern hospitality atmosphere is amazing. We tried this location out during Covid and had an okay experience, chucked it up to understaffing and COVID. Came back to give it another shot.. same experience as before. Food and drinks took longer than usual, food was barely warm and very bland. If you review this place based on a few certain things, it does amazingly in those areas. My family and I have gone maybe a dozen or so times over the years, and I'll try to summarize all of my thoughts about the restaurant. The number one best thing about Smokey Bones: Their appetizers. I don't know how Smokey Bones does it, but they have quite honestly the best appetizers that I have ever had in my entire life. Their best appetizers are the Loaded Cheese Fries and the Smoked Wings. These two items are to die for, and honestly enough to give this place a fame to its name. They have the perfect combination of sweetness, saltiness, and texture that make these dishes (and most other appetizers I've tried) amazing. The fries have the perfect ratio of crispiness to potato and toppings to fries. The wings are perfectly smoked with great smokey flavor and crispiness. If you're looking for a bar with nice bar food, come here and get yourself some fries and wings and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. Other great things about Smokey Bones: - The atmosphere is pretty good; great decor - The servers and hosts are very friendly and helpful - Usually a lot of coupons from them in the mail, you should look around - Their ribs and sandwiches are pretty tasty - They stack a lot of toppings on top of their burgers, great combinations available Bad things about Smokey Bones: - Long wait time on weekend nights; they seem understaffed - Multiple TVs on at the same station - The burgers (and some meats) are inconsistent in their quality (but if you get a burger, be wary of them under-cooking) Overall, an alright place, but its diamonds in the rough more than make up for anything that would irk you about this place. read more

WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!! We love this place! It's located in the perfect spot near a shopping mall and it's located near a huge AMC movie theater! We walked in afternoon time was seated right away! Staff was friendly start to finish! Our food came out quickly, fresh, & hot!!! I had chicken wings and beer obvi best combo out there but they were crispy perfectly sauced! Stopped here for lunch and it wasn't too crowded. Staff was wearing masks and the tables were socially distant from the other. Didn't have a lot of appetizers to choose from. We decided on the cornbread which the server recommended . It obviously was not fresh cornbread. It was so rubbery, chewy and like warm. We told the server and she said ok. The pecan butter that comes with it was amazing! I ordered dry rub ribs with sauce on the side. Sauce came on the ribs and on the side and was told this is how our dry rub is. Not dry in other words. The brisket had a good flavor but it was on the dry side. The corn was delicious and a big serving. I never seen such a tiny baked potato. For $22 this what not worth it. The ribs were tender and just a bit over seasoned to me. My company had the macaroni and cheese with all the meats on there. She said it was tasty and it was a nice serving size. Happy Valentine's Day everyone. My wife and I decided last minute to grab some dinner, yes on Valentine's Day knowing that it's going to be crazy busy. We decided on Smokey Bones. We put our names on the wait list and we were told is going to be a 40 minute wait. We said ok because we looked around and they had plenty of empty tables. So we figured the wait would actually be shorter. Then we waited and waited and waited. The tables were still empty. We saw folks getting up paying and leaving but no one is sitting down. Then after about 30 mins the hostess informs us the delay is in the kitchen that they are backed up. Again, Friday night, holiday weekend (President's & Valentine's Day) and with about 10 couples waiting the wait is now one hour. After about an hour and 10 mins we finally got seated. Not as angry as I was when I started this review. Restaurant still about 3/4 full with a one hour plus wait. SMDH!!! Waiter, very apologetic and real nice. Took our drinks order promptly and real attentive as my wife went thru the menu with him just so she can order the same thing she usually gets. Smokey Bones, your server Andrew saved you. I was ready to give you one star and really blast you again (previous post a few years back) but I just have no negative things to say about the service he provided and the food was great I had to take one star just for the one hour plus wait with a half empty restaurant. read more

First time here and I can say I'll def be back. For an appetizer I tried the fried pickles dipped in ranch which were very good, hot and fresh! I couldn't decide what exactly I wanted as my entree, the bartender suggested ribs(go figure) but I ended up getting the bone fire. You can't go wrong with a little bit of everything. First time back to this location in awhile. Came here on Black Friday evening around 10pm, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Per usual I order the ShipWrecked Drink which is amazing. The service was wonderful. I had a server who was working her first solo shift and she was very friendly, attentive & provided great service. The menu is well rounded with BBQ plates (ribs, sausage, BBQ, chicken, etc.), tacos, smoked wings, salads, nachos, burgers, delicious sides and so much more. The main reason I am giving this review 3 stars is the food. The food was nothing spectacular, nothing amazing just pretty average. I ordered the chicken & Waffles. (4 chicken strips, fries, and a waffle w/ syrup). The strips were dry & not too much flavor (added BBQ sauce), the waffle was okay (too soft for my liking), and the fries were meh. Normally I stick to my go-to meal which is the pullee chicken salad, but one decided to try something different. Overall, I would continue to go to this restaurant & try new things. First dinner of my North Carolina trip. Seemed like a fun and packed place. We seated at the bar area for faster service. We ordered the skillet cornbread to start. YUMMY! Probably the only reason I would return is for the conrnbread and that sweet pecan butter! It had a nice fluffy cake like consistency. Then we ordered the Tuscan Mac and the combo plate of Brisket and St. Louis Ribs with a side of mashed potatoes and french fries (texas toast included). The meat was tender but did not have any particular flavor that really stood out and left a mark on me. I enjoyed the fries? Overall the restaurant gave me a good experience but it could be better. The ladies serving us were nice. Needs to be more well staffed at the bar if it is full. One star down for that (time) and then down another star for forgetting the ribs on the plate when it came to us. read more

We ordered takeout and were greatly disappointed in the quality of food. For the amount we paid for 3 entrees, I believe we would have had a better meal from a fast food restaurant. There's a reason why their sanitation rating is a 90.. I typically don't go anywhere with less than a 95 because that's a recipe for some type of sickness. There's no dress code or uniform because everyone's wearing regular street clothes and looking straight up un professional. Drink menu is limited and extremely over priced. 10$ for a whiskey sour and you don't even use Woodford like you advertise you sneak in nasty Jack Daniels. Proportions are good, lots of food, 5$ for a side of Mac n cheese and considering it as a premium side is wild..If you want BBQ I'd advise going to Mac's Speed Shop on McPherson. Mediocre at best.
