Stopped in here again on our way to Thanksgiving dinner to have lunch and catch some football. Hubby had the 1/2 rack of ribs, which were good. The mashed potatoes and gravy were just "meh," and the broccoli was overcooked. I enjoyed a combo platter of pulled pork (could only eat half of the pile), fire-roasted corn (also meh), baked beans (delicious), and garlic bread. The 4 different BBQ sauces on the table definitely elevated the meat. Plenty of free parking in their private lot. Food amazing service was ok waitress could have been trained better.Ambiance great just very cold establishment this is the second time in 3 months I've been to this location. Just seems like there's never any heat in this establishment. Slight issue with the food ask for management because my burger was sent back twice and he wouldn't even come out and speak hmm not good for business. Food and drinks are what you expect from this chain. However this was my second time here sitting at the bar and service wasn't great. The bartender Dee caters to the regulars leaving others to beg for attention from anyone else walking by. I don't remember the name of the Spanish bartender that did end up helping us but if it wasn't for her I'd be giving one star. I wouldn't come to watch sports at the bar due to the poor quality of some TVs. read more

My family and I were craving bbq over the last few days. We were originally at a different restaurant down the street that had a long wait. We called Smokey Bones to see the wait time and were informed there was no wait. We arrived and now see why. It is freezing in this restaurant! My phone says it's 64 degrees. The manager stated the heat has been out for over a month. They were only given 3 small space heaters by corporate. We weren't informed of this issue when we called, nor when we arrived and were seated. Everyone in the restaurant had on their coats and gloves. Not only was the restaurant cold but sadly our food was brought out cold too... A totally disappointing experience at this restaurant. read more

Service was ok but not spectacular! Trying to order was hit or miss, out of brisket, out of smoked turkey, & someone forgot to do the meat the night before. We travel through a few times per year & used to look forward to stopping at this location but things get worse time after time. Just sitting here waiting on my waiter to pick up the check. Arrived at 5:30. It's now 6:54. Waiter is nice enough. The food was served at separate times. Mine was cold and my wife's salad was warm. Make that make sense. Bathroom is dirty. I had to get my own silverware and refills. Part of my dinner didn't even arrive. Over all this just isn't the place to go to for BBQ. I dined here a couple of days ago, because I kept getting emails about a $14.99 special on ribs that came with 2 side dishes. When the server brought the food out, it looked beautiful and it was so delicious. I really like their sauce with the blue top on it. I would definitely recommend the restaurant on Route 256, because the waitresses and Staff stick together just to keep the place running. Thanks smoky bones Staff for making my day. Hostess was not very friendly. Had to wait about 10mins for her to clean off a table. Once we were sat, it took a few moments for the waitress to make it over. We ordered our drinks, a smoked old fashioned (they couldn't smoke it for some reason?) unsweet tea and a children's lemonade. She brought back all of the drinks but the tea and said she would need to brew a new batch. Several moments later the cocktail came but no tea... still working on it I guess, I took it as a sign to order a cocktail as well. Ordered the bourbon blackberry lemonade. It came back in a pint glass with no ice. I was confused. I'm pretty sure there was not alcoholic. I asked and she insisted it was ... the food then took another 30+mins to arrive. We asked for another old fashioned but she said their ice maker was not working so he ordered a beer which didn't arrive til our dinners were finished. Ordered the smoked Mac and Cheese with pulled pork. The plate was really hot, but the Mac and cheese was cold. I mean, the cheese was congealed! The pulled pork was cold also. Never going to another Smokey bones again. I've already gone to two locations and both were not good. The only part of the food that was good was the cornbread, everything else was disgusting. The atmosphere is okay and the service was horrible! I asked for water, literally an hour later and after asking 3 different people they finally bring it out, my cornbread came out earlier! It's been a while since we ate at this particular location. The food was great, as expected based on the other one we normally go to, but the service here was just okay that night. At check out time, the server, Hayden, took the table-side pad and seemed to take a long time to set it up. When it only asked for a signature, we asked about the tip, she said it was already included. Odd for a table of 2 but it'd been along day so we signed and left. It was not discovered until later that she'd set a 25% tip. The service was not nearly that spectacular, not quite even the 20% we normally do. For the third time the server apologizes about how long we had to wait. The appetizer arrives the loaded cheese fries are loaded with coldness. The cheese is like a rock. I've ordered take out from this location possibly three times. Just two days ago I ordered the Rib Feast with wedges and a baked potato. My order was set to be ready by 12:10a and I arrived at 12:16. Had a late lunch The menu's were sticky on certain pages. For the appetizer, we got the mini Loaded BBQ Mag-Nachos. That was pretty good. For the main meal, we chose Robert's ribfest for two. It comes with a full rack of ribs. Your choice of four regular sides, garlic bread, and either an appetizer or a dessert. I chose the bag of donuts and added a side salad. The sides were baked potatoes, fries, and the fir roasted corn. The sides were good, but my rib had a lot of fat and gristle, so I sent it back. The sweet tea was weak and not very sweet. The ribs are very light in color and not grilled. It had a light smoke taste. The bag of donuts half of them were overcooked the ones that wernt tasted good. If you like bland unseasoned food, go here. Hickory House or City BBQ has no worries. The waiter Alexis was very nice and friendly. My daughters to go order had a penny at the bottom of it, and once we finished our food, a water bug crawled on the table. read more

First, food was delicious. Unfortunately the service was SLOW! Our server didn't bring lates & napkins until after our appetizer. I had to go get napkins. At 8:45 on Sunday evening, the restaurant was not very busy. We were seated at a booth in the bar area and then waited more than 30 minutes with no acknowledgment at our table. There seem to be adequate staffing but none of the employees who passed by our table could see us - apparently. We finally went and asked the manager if someone could take her order. Another five minutes and she came to our table to explain there was no one working in our area as if it were our fault. Another 5 minutes and someone showed up to take our order. Love the food at this location, it is a place you must visit. Noise is average, great for conversation or watch football. Food price is average for the quantities you get, with 2 plates to the middle you can feed at least 3 people. The taste is really good. Ohhhh after my experience with another BBQ place I wasn't expecting too much from Smokey Bones.. but Wow!! Rack of ribs was outstanding with great smoke ring and so tender. The sauces on the table were perfect and the loaded nachos were the best I ever ate! Kegan was our server and he was great from the beginning.
