Your typical big box chain restaurant. We tried the wings, ribs, pulled pork, and smoked sausage. The wings and ribs had more smoke flavor than I'm used to, but well cooked. The pulled pork was a little dry, but that is what sauce is for. The selection of sauces was really good. The garlic toast is like the kind you get from the freezer section of the supermarket. It baffles me why this chain struggles and the corporate owner is changing many of them to Twin Peaks. Boo. I hope they keep this location Smokey Bones. Food is fine, not great but not bad. Had the three meat sampler with smoked sausage, cheddar jalapeno sausage, smoked pulled chicken and a side of fries, corn, and garlic bread. Everything was good but the chicken, it was pretty tasteless and kind of dry. Wife had pulled pork sandwich which she liked. Fries are always good so can't complain there. Service was as good as it could have been. The waitress was friendly, polite, apologetic because they were down four servers, but overall pretty slow. Waited quite a while for the bill and credit card to come back. Inside is like a bar environment, industrial, open kitchen, BBQ and Smokey Bones pictures on the wall. Nothing impressive, just something like a factory type of restaurant. Not sure if I'd come back though. read more

Went here monday evening and sat at the bar to have a bite to eat and let's start with the bartender had no type of professional. She wasn't flat out rude but definitely displayed a disinterest in doing her job and all she did drop the food which was terrible. Everything seemed over cooked or recooked. We had to waive the bartender down for anything we wanted. There was no heats just 2 space heaters layed out throughout the restaurant.. Two other tables goto up and left cause they got no service. The waiters and bartenders were sitting at a high top table complaining how much they were getting tipped. Very unprofessional i must say. Overall the whole staff needs to retrained. read more

Today my wife took me out to dinner for my birthday. We have never been to this establishment before and decided to try it out. Outside had a rustic feel and as you entered it opened up to nice atmosphere with the smell of barbecue sauces and hints of hickory smoke in the air. We were met and seated and we looked over the menu while we waited for our server. a gentleman came over after a while and asked for our drink order. We gave him our drink order and when i said just a water for me he seemed a bit off put by my selection. I have recently had bypass surgery so i am unable to eat and drink at the same time so i didnt want to waste a drink so i decided water was the way to go. he scurried off and came back after a brief amount of time. " you guy know what you want to order", came from his mouth and we asked him a few questions about the menu as to which he answered oh i dont eat anything here. I gave him a look as to say why is the food here bad, but he took a look at my face and said not cause of the food here just i dont eat off the bone. I asked how was the fire roasted corn prepared, he said cooked. I said was it on the cob or in a dish, he said in a dish. We ordered our meals and a corn bread appetizer. minutes passed and he brought out our corn bread, placed it on the table said here is your corn bread and off he went. At this point my wife and i looked at eachother and said where are the plates. So when he approached the table i asked if they actually had small plates for appetizers, his reply was yeah if you ask for them. It was at that point i was slowly loosing my feeling of staying to complete the meal. My wife asked me to relax and i asked for one plate. Our food came out and we began to eat. Everything was fresh and hot, portions were comparable to other establishments in the same price point. We each sampled food from each others plates, my ribs were lean and a bit on the dry side. The beans were great, the corn was good but not the best. My wife got the shrimp, pulled pork, mac and cheese and broccoli. shrimp was good, pulled pork was good, mac and cheese was a bit lackluster at best and the broccoli was good. The food was ok not the greatest we have ever had but decent. So at the end he meanders over we ask for boxes for the rest of the food i was unable to fit in my tiny stomach. He brings them over and we pack up our food and pay our bill. I look and there is no bag so i begin to carry out the two food contaners and notice someone else with a bag. So, i turn around and stop another server and ask for a bag they run and say yes sir and bring me a bag and said i even placed napkins and wet wipes in there for you have a great day. Now that is service, not like the one we received. Upsetting to think. I will never visit that establishment again because of how we were treated by that employee and the subpar service they provided. His nonchalant attitude toward his job left such a bad taste in my mouth that it carried over into the meal. So if you are looking for sub par service, food that is mediocre at best, this is the place to go. But again that is my opinion, go see them for yourself and make your own judgement. read more

First time here and was very underwhelming. Walking in the place smells great but when the food arrived it was just barely average. There were two of us and our food was delivered at different times. The meal was ok. The service was terrible. We were seated in a booth around the bar. As it turned out the bartender was our server even though it was obvious there was another server in the area. At the end of the meal we asked for coffee and a desert. The coffee came fairly quickly but after 10 minutes my wife was still waiting for creamer for her coffee and still waiting for a brownie sundae. I had to go to the bartender to get our check. She immediately said "I guess they did not bring your desert". I insisted that the coffee and desert be removed and she said she had to get her manager. Ordered dinner for myself tonight. 2/3 rack of ribs. Corn and ceaser salad. I will start off by saying this is not a review of food quality as anything I have ever had from this joint has been very good. This review is more about quantity. A rack of ribs has 10 to 13 ribs. Mine had 6. Mind you this is supposed to be 2/3 of a rack. And size? Well pic is included. Corn is good.. ceaser salad with NO dressing. And a soggy slice of what used to be a crispy Texas toast that should have been wrapped separately. This meal was $37.50 which is my book is the price of a main plate at a finer dining restaurant. What's up food crew! Today's show the GF and I are back at Smokey Bones in WB. Where last video I had the St Louis style ribs, this video I am comparing the baby back ribs. Now the GF got the St Louis ribs again with mashed potatoes and the fire roasted corn I went different from last time and also got the corn, and i ordered the potato wedges. I also tried a cup of their beef stew. Now the stew had a smokey taste and very delicious. Now the baby back ribs I have noticed are more of a sweeter taste. They give you a nice amount of sauce on the ribs, not over smothered but you get a nice amount to compliment the ribs. These were also delicious; I can't say which was better because they were both good in their own rights. Like before we got the donuts for dessert. Takeout order. Most of the food was good.i had asked for extra bbq sauce and ketchup. For some reason they gave me a little plastic container of chocolate sauce that looked like a dark barbecue sauce . It was the only additional sauce in the bags and I since i had asked for extra bbq sauce i thought this was it. So there was no ketchup . No extra bbq sauce and a plasti container of chocolate sauce. There was no sauce with my meal.I poured some of what i now know to be chocolate sauce over pulled pork and mac and cheese. It was not good. We had no desserts in our meals. Honestly it was one of the worst places my family has ever eaten at in the past 6 months. We stopped after seeing TSO Sunday night. The waitress was very good, but seemed over whelmed with tables. It took about 15 minutes until we had out drinks ordered, then it took another 20 minutes to get our drinks. She took our orderes and took about 45 minutes to get our meals, my granddaughter sent her meal back because it was cold, the butter was not melting on the baked potato, it was that cold. My pulled pork was barely warm, but my baked potato was only warm. I will never visit that Smokie Bones again. read more

I've loved Smokey Bones and was sad to see it exit Oklahoma City. When I moved to NJ recently, i was looking forward to visiting the Wilkes-Barre location today (9/25/2021) as I had been there 4 years ago. I ordered a rack of St. Louis style ribs. When the plate arrived, it was sauced, not dry rub. I was told that sauced is the normal serving. I had never been asked this before or had to express dry rub previously. So perhaps that's my fault. Server said not a problem and said she'd bring a dry rub plate of ribs. About 10 minutes later, she brought out what was supposed to be dry rub. The ribs looked like the kitchen had wiped most of the sauce off the ribs they originally gave me and sprinkled some brown sugar seasoning on it. I ate not quite 2 bones and was disgusted by the taste. These were the worst dry rub ribs I've ever had from any bbq place, and this was from what I thought was my fav bbq place, Smokey Bones. I contacted the server who got the manager and told him the problem. He explained that the seasoning had changed a couple of years ago and offered to get baby back ribs. If the dry rub was supposed to be that way, I saw no point in getting a different dish. The manager apologized and said he'd take care of the bill. I left, quite dissatisfied. Waited a long time to get drinks and while doing so watched a server carry out another tables appetizer and drinks while carrying the side plates for the apps under her arm against her body.... Absolutely disgusting. She placed the other tables drinks down and grabbed the top of the drink with her fingers all over the rim of the glass.I ordered a shipwreck and it had old fruit garnished on-top of a ten dollar cup of juice that looked horrible. This is the second, and last time we order anything from here. Sometimes I think you give a place a couple of tries to see if maybe there was just one bad day. But no the food here is just awful. Yesterday we had the ribs which were as chewy as could be, the Brunswick stew which was honestly gross, the smoked wings (worst wings in the area), and a jalapeño cheese sausage. Honestly I don't understand the 1 star reviews on this place, and it makes me sad seeing it not that busy when we went. Now it was a Sunday so maybe that was it... The place is a BBQ joint, a very good one too! There's bar seating and also tables and booths, the staff is very friendly. We are a party of 5 so we can eat a lot. We got the Mag Nachos, which we devoured, if you're a party that can eat a lot I would recommend the nachos and another appetizer. 3 of us got the brisket grilled cheese and OMG what a good combo, the cheese mixed with the BBQ brisket and to dip, they give you, what seemed to be, tomato bisque! Best grilled cheese ever! Our waitress was very nice, my brother ordered wings but didn't specify what kind of Buffalo sauce he wanted, so he got hot. We brought it up not trying to make a big fuss but she made sure that he got another set of wings with mild sauce and she took the hot wings off our bill. I also got traditional wings, with medium sauce and I always ask for extra crispy and the kitchen knew exactly what I wanted, crispy BUT not burnt!
