My friend and I visited on a weekday around 5:30 pm and this place was jammin'! Thankfully she had arrived before I did and was able to snag a table before having to be waitlisted. I ordered the appetizer ribs, which were fall off the bone delicious and the prime rib for my entree, which was perfectly cooked to medium as requested. My sides kind of lacked (loaded baked potato and green beans). I wasn't told the green beans had bacon in them. Don't get me wrong, I love bacon, but I just didn't love their combo of bacon and canned green beans. The potato had hardly any sour cream on it, but I asked for extra and that fixed that. Asked for a 16 oz. steak well done, big mistake this time around. Steak came out well on one side and medium rare on the other. They have undercooked my steaks multiple times. How is this "medium"? If this is medium, then what's medium rare? I have taken to just finishing to cook the steaks myself at home. Also, when I've ordered medium well to bypass this undercooking that is going on, they heavily over cook the steak. If youre going there for a steak, sure you can get a 1/2 decent steak served up (Longhorn is soooo much better). But when it comes to everything else on their menu, it's all trash. Fries were cold, soggy, and undercooked. Burgers are terrible, and all of the appetizers we tried were one note and bland. If AppleBees is your type of thing, give it a shot. We checked in with a worker outside the building and were texted when our table was ready. 2. Our food was delicious. We got an order of Buffalo bites as an appetizer. They were okay--to be expected from a chain restaurant. My fiancé's well done sirloin topped with onions and mushrooms was surprisingly tender and tasty. My medium rare ribeye was amazing! It was right on the border of rare and medium rare, but I was okay with that. Our side salads were fresh. My mashed potatoes were good. My fiancé enjoyed his steak fries, even though he's not the biggest fan of steak fries. 3. The service was amazing. Our server (Jaz) was polite as well as attentive to our needs despite it being extremely busy. She hooked us up with refills galore of rolls and drinks and frequently asked us if all was okay. We were honestly surprised we had such a good experience at a chain restaurant. We feel that even before covid there has been a steady decline in service, but this proved us wrong. You shouldn't text people that you're ready for them if they still have to wait close to an hour!! After being seated we ordered our drinks and food right away, drinks came quickly but it was a 1.5 hour wait for the food while tables around us who were both seated after us and ordered after us received their food. SERVICE: 1/5 We walked in to Texas Roadhouse on Fat Tuesday, and we were seated instantly. Hopes of the night going as smooth as the seating quickly started to diminish when we got to our table. Our server was also the bartender and it took a little while to be asked for our drinks and to actually receive them. It was just kind of frustrating when we can see the server at all times since the bar and our table was no more than 10ft away. Normally, I don't get on service that wasn't ideal because many places like to stretch people over a ton of tables and it's just not realistic but this was different. Our server / bartender had a third role of being a professional gossiper because she would run to the tables or get a drink or whatever and hurried back to loudly complain about someone to another employee that was leaning on the bar by the beer taps. Her go-to line was "oh one second" or "I'll be right back with that drink/food/etc." as she goes back to complain to that other employee for minutes on end with my empty glass on the bar waiting to be refilled. FOOD: 3/5 Food wasn't bad, the steak I ordered was cooked to my liking, and the bread you get at the beginning is seriously one of my favorite restaurant breads with that special butter they have, don't even get me started, ridiculously good. But the appetizers were on the bland side and the ribs were kind of dry for being touted as "fall off the bone". The last and least favorite part of my meal was the salad. I love Caesar salad as seen in my profile and it was not very good. The salad itself was so overdressed in my opinion and the lettuce wasn't super fresh (see picture), so it was off-putting. I love the rolls and butter, and you get a great portion for a great price. I visited July 23rd. We used the call ahead option and waited only 5 minutes. We were seated and immediately given fresh hot rolls! Our waitress was great, but made us feel a bit hurried. We ordered 2 entrees,1 salad and 1 steak. The appetizer we chose was cheese fries. Unfortunately, our entrees came out about 5 minutes before our appetizer. The server delivering the food to our table seemed a bit confused with the situation as well. All our food came out great. Complimentary yeast rolls served with honey- cinnamon butter! OMG, happiness! I then ordered the NY strip, thick 10 oz steak, medium rare. The steak was tender, perfectly prepared, juicy goodness!!!!Had a salad and string beans! When I tell you the strings beans tasted like home cooked beans with pork seasoning, believe you me, someone put love in those beans!!! Came here for dinner with the family while in PA for a softball tournament. Upon entering we were seated right away and the host was extremely nice even giving us am extra basket of rolls with an extra container of butter. Once seated our waitress was no where to be found. We had no napkins and no silverware to be able to even eat some of the biscuits. When we tried to flag down other waitresses they ignored us. A lady and her daughter were seated after us and her waitress was taking her drink order already. When our waitress finally made her way over after like 15 minutes, she was extremely apologetic and kind. She handled the situation like a pro. She took our drink orders and was still very apologetic and thanked us for our patience. After we ordered our food she brought us some complementary salads on the house since the beginning started out rough and was still so apologetic. She was amazing actually. Since we were staying at a hotel for a tournament she sent us home with our unsweetened iced tea with lemon in a to go cup. She also gave our daughter a bag of peanuts to go.
