You would have to have some other type of decorative lighting, which they did, in order to provide an elegant atmosphere to your wedding. The actual banquet hall itself where the reception was held was exactly how it should have been. The lighting was exceptional, and the flooring was nice as well, although I feel there could have been more dance floor space because you know people like to boogie or shake that booty, ya know?....lol. All in all, if you have a wedding that is light featured, then I would choose Adaggio's specifically for that reason alone, but also because you can have a really nice reception just across the hall. A couple at a random dinner tasting steered us to Adaggios and I'm so glad we did. They offer a per-person pricing model, which included dinner, basic linens, basic beverages and the DJ. Really, all we needed was the cake, although we chose to upgrade the bar package through the venue and then added more decorations and chair covers through our wedding planner. Bottom line, weddings are expensive. But in the end, we heard nothing but compliments and it looked really nice -- and personalized to our taste. I was concerned about it being outside of the 465 loop but, really, it was a 20 minute drive from our ceremony at the State House and really easy to find. Thanks to their arrangements with local hotels, we had a great rate AND a free ride to/from the ceremony in the hotel shuttle van. Not the most glamorous ride but every penny counts!

Flowers, in all forms, should be a normal part of life. And cut flowers have this magical property of bringing just a sprinkle of nature into our homes. Recently, I needed to have flowers delivered. I have a favorite florist on the North side, but I thought the delivery address may be out of their zone or I would have to pay extra. So, to Yelp I went! And, once again, the Yelp community came through in a big way! Penny's was the best reviewed florist in the area I was searching. Honestly, I was a little nervous because their featured image is of 30 floor lamps and not flowers. But I realized they also sell home decor (& more!). And I couldn't really argue with the 4.8 rating (4.9 after this review??). I have never visited Penny's in person, but I may stop by sometime to check out the housewares. I did my shopping online like you do for most florists. The website was easy to navigate and included pictures of the flower arrangements. I was also pleasantly surprised by their prices. They offered several price ranges, but even the lower range still offered great selections. I chose one right in the middle. Checking out was a breeze, as well as inputting all of the delivery information. There wasn't a way to select a time for delivery that I saw. You can type in requests, but there is also a note that says time requests are not guaranteed. But I moved forward hoping my delivery would take place during the business day. On the day of delivery, I received a courtesy call at 8:30am that he flowers were on their way and would be delivered in about an hour! The arrangement was beautiful, smelled exquisite, and looked like the photo online. Well, done, Penny's. Well, done! While my favorite bouquet continues to be that of a fine, red wine, I truly appreciate the scent of fresh-cut flowers. Over the past few years, I have realized just how important smell is to me. Whether it's the aroma of dinner roasting in the oven, lighting a candle after cleaning the house, or an intoxicating perfume lingering in the air... smells are powerful. Fresh flowers brighten up a room both aesthetically and olfactory-lly (?!).

He answered all of our questions and had some extra perks we liked. He was easily our favorite vendor throughout our wedding planning process! Some things we personally loved that he did was at the reception he put up some of the photos he took throughout the wedding so our guests were able to see them! We got a lot of compliments on that. Guests loved it! Another thing was that he worked hard at remembering our bridal party's names. My matron of honor and I were both really impressed by that! It made taking the photos a lot more fun. He also stays ALL day. He doesn't put a time limit on the event. We loved that. Time limits can be stressful because you're trying to get all the photos done before they have to leave. All he asks is for a meal for him and his assistant. The last and biggest thing we loved was that he helped side step a problem. My dad forgot his tie, but before I could have a mini panic attack that we were out a tie, my mom came in and told me that the photographer offered his grey tie to my dad. His tie matched really well with the suits and it was perfect! It was very kind and caring of him to do that. My husband and I were really grateful! We did pay more than what we planned for Garret, but we have no regrets about that! The photos came back quickly and are amazing! We loved working with Garret and definitely recommend him to anyone and everyone!!!
