I had such an amazing time at Buck Creek with my sister-in-law. They had a variety of cheese, crackers, and meats available to create your own charcuterie board. They also had bottles that were cold and ready to drink on site. The owner was so fun and easy to speak to. They made sure we had everything we need to enjoy our wine and snacks. Outside of their delicious wine that they offer. They also have wine wine slushy. It was $10 to do a Tasting, but we went ahead and purchased a bottle that we had tried from their visit to the Indianapolis home show. They have seating both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor seating outlook towards the vines. We decided to sit indoors. There's also a parking lot for easy access to the building. You can also order items online for carry out. We will be back!

We made a quick stop after seeing the billboard along 74 while driving through Indiana. It was a small family owned winery with quite a few bottles and varieties made in house. They do small batch barrels. If you want a tasting flight (very affordable at $10 for six) you have to stand at the bar. Very odd. We felt very hurried and didn't really get to savor the experience. The owner was there but frankly a little rude and acted like we were stupid and he was the "expert"...as we do actually know a lot about wine this was insulting and I got the feeling if my husband had been with us it would have been different... We left without buying anything and a bad taste in our mouths from the rude service and hurried experience. I wouldn't recommend.

Great tasting experience at Buck Creek Winery. I'm a Hoosier now living in Sonoma, California, and I work part time in the wine industry and I am a former wine writer for various Northern California and nation wine publications. Suffice to say, growing up in Indiana I despised the sweet wines we are known for making and I was a bit nervous about what I'd expect - especially given that the label looks like something you'd find at a hunting cabin wall versus a hip winery and they make a lot of fruit wine. But, we aren't in California anymore Dorothy. I came into this tasting with an open mind and a goal to only taste wines using Indiana grown grapes (no fruit wine or wine using imported grapes from CA, OR, WA, etc). Our tasting associate was down to earth, informative and friendly. He answered all my geeky questions. I was very pleased with his knowledge about the wines and winemakng process, as past experiences with Indiana wine tastings have often been less than informative. I felt very overwhelmed looking at the two page wine list - 37 wines! I selected six (it's $10 for 6 tastings) and I chose estate and Indiana grown wines and one cider: -William Loyd Reserve (red blend) -Seyval Blanc (white semi-dry) -Forget Me Not (Traminette) -Grady's Hard Cider (heirloom apples from a few blocks away) -Pink Ribbon Rose -Autumn Blush (Catawba) I was tasted the William Lloyd first, which was very confusing, as I would generally taste a guest on a dry white wine first, but, whatever. It was the only wine I chose on the official "dry" list, so that's what my first wine was. Overall, I enjoyed the William Loyd, Forget Me Not and the Hard Cider. Those are the three I left with. The Seyval Blanc was really interesting (acidic with a strange bite to it like a Granny Smith apple) and I look forward to trying more of those at other wineries. The Pink Ribbon Rose was bearable and the Autumn Blush smelled like it was corked upon opening and pouring, but, I was told that was "just how it always smelled." I could not get past the scent of that wine when I tasted it. The rose-orange tinted wine is their most popular, which I cannot comprehend. The wines I took home are dry. The red reminded me of a slightly tannic, but comforting and warm full-bodied Merlot or Syrah-based red blend I'd find back home. A good easy drinking, week night red. The Traminette is Indiana's state grape and this was my first taste of it since I left the state. I really enjoyed it. Its parent grape is Gewürz and it's got delicate floral and fruity notes, but nothing over the top. Really nice wine. The cider was semi-dry and just plain tasty. I noticed glasses of wine were being served in plastic cups, so I opted out of that. They were also selling wine slushies to go in big stryofoam containers, which was hilarious and very Hoosier. Overall, I was pleased to find some wines I enjoyed and look forward to returning to the future to try Buck Creek's other wines. Cheers.

The vines are prettier in the summer but are surrounded by trees which were beautiful in fall.

We stopped at Buck Creek returning from some shopping in Bloomington. The staff was friendly and welcoming. My friend and I were able to get a small booth to do some wine tasting-the counter isn't open for this yet. We were provided paper menus that described the wines well and a paper to write in our selections. I liked the efficiency and it's easy to see what you're drinking but for those new to wine tastings, an explanation or caution to write in selections from dry to sweet, as the menu listed them, is a must. It would be easy to start writing and realize you want a drier wine for that 6th pick. They got busy during our tastings with a couple of large groups coming in. The staff did a good job keeping up and were race walking through the place in an effort to ensure everyone was taken care of. Tastings are 6 for $8; you will have no problem finding 6 with the wide selection offered. You will also have no problem choosing that glass to enjoy or bottle(s) to take home. We didn't LOVE all of our picks but liked most of them. We were also offered a free taste of the warmed spiced apple wine which was nice for a chilly afternoon.

Winery Stop #2: 6 Tastings for $10! The wait staff were friendly and they made great recommendations. This is family owned and operated and they have one various awards for their Stellar tastings. The venue is cute and quaint with about 5 high top tables, I saw some ladies reading books.. and a mom with her husband and baby enjoying themselves. I wish there was a bit of music playing .. other than that, Id absolutely return. I ended up purchasing a bottle of the Rhubarb wine

Very nice and tasteful wine selection. Will definitely be back. A lot of variety for Those who like dry, semi dry, or sweet wine! Loved everything I tried

Great sweet & fruit wines. Not sure about the semi drys and dry have not worked up to them. :) The staff was very nice & helpful. We were in on Mothers Day so it was pretty busy. You get 5 sample of there wine. And they do discounts for you buy more than 3 bottles. We will be going back.

Great wine! Great service! The wine slushees are fun and tasty! Wine tasting is a must! 40 wines to choose from! You'll get 6 tastes for $8 so choose wisely. If you go with a partner you choose 6 and have them choose 6 and you'll knock 12 off the menu :). Happy tasting!

First time here, we came here on a whim while driving back from Ohio. Great service the host had a fun presence. I tried the syrah, the Cabernet, the seyval Blanc, amore, dew drop, and the rocio. My favorite was the Seyval. I'm not a huge sweet wine drinker anymore, but I did like the rocio. That is the only sparkling on the list but it is sweet. They are releasing their concert schedule on Facebook. It was $5 for 6 tastings is not a bad deal.

    All the bottles sat out.

To be in the Peace Possey of Peace Water Winery? 100% worth it! First of all, I don't like most Indiana wine because it's way too sweet. PWW wine is all from California! It's right up my alley, and the benefits of the Peace Possey make it a monthly date night PLUS a bargain on a bottle of delicious wine. FLAVORFUL RESTAURANT IN A HIP PART OF INDY…read more======================================== My daughter-in-law recommended Bluebeard for dinner on Monday, June 22, 2026. I would have to say this restaurant is my favorite in Indy right now after one meal. Most of the things we shared were amazing and for a complete description please refer to my photo of the menu. We ordered the following: Burrata with Amelia's bread as an appetizer which was delicious. Gem Salad - This was amazing and I could eat it every day of the week. Stacci house made pasta - This was a big hit and I would order this every time. Hanger Steak - My husband, aka the picky eater, loved it. I didn't try it, but everyone seemed to like it. Chicken with a few dumplings - We all loved this. Three desserts to share: a cheesecake with fruit on top, one a bread pudding and a chocolate crisp. I ordered a delicious Monsoon Season cocktail with song cai vietnamese gin, cocchi americano, st. george thai basil eau de vie, elderflower, lemon and basil oil. My son and I also ordered glasses of Port after dinner. The service was great and I loved that they were playing really good rock music like Soundgarden and others. There are lots of antique typewriters above the bar and a cool print of Kurt Vonnegut by the bathrooms. I am looking forward to going again the next time my husband and I are in Indy visiting my son and daughter-in-law unless they move out of state.

Themed around Indy native Kurt Vonnegut, you'll see old typewriters, books, and names of menu items paying tribute to the famous author. The menu feels high class but the atmosphere and wait staff are friendly and welcoming. You could dress up for a special occasion or come in casual every day wear and either fit in just fine. Their ever changing menu featuring local produce and meats is always unique, inventive, and most importantly, delicious. Their cocktail list is one of the best and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had an extensive mocktail list as well. Their sodas and syrups are all house-made which means every drink is full of fresh flavors. I had a lemon pasta dish an my husband ordered the hanger steak. Both were cooked perfectly and composed of flavors and textures that complimented each other perfectly. There's nothing that wouldn't be good on their menu because you can tell the chefs are exceptional as well as the ingredients they choose. I really can't say enough good things about this place, it remains one of my favorite places to enjoy a meal and no matter what I choose, I'm never disappointed.

Even the driest of the wines, the Cabernet Sauvignon, is very sweet. So, if you love sweet wines, this place is for you! Right now, they are only pouring a Cabernet, a red blend, a Riesling and a sweet Rose. The grapes are imported, but Woolley Yak has their own vineyard, and the intention is that they will soon start producing wine from their own grapes. You can get a flight of wine, or a glass of wine, or a mimosa, and then you can take your wine outside with you as you explore the grounds. There are picnic benches here and there. There's also a food truck that sells four different types of grilled cheese sandwiches and handheld charcuterie cups. I think food is only available Friday through Sunday, though. I visited with children (well, a teen and an almost tween), but they are a good hang and will play on a playground with the best of them, so we headed straight for the nature play space. The playground was designed to encourage kids to engage in unstructured play, so it has a lot of natural elements all around, like tree stumps, hay bales and logs. My kids are "co-op kids" for life (their early years were spent at a nature-based cooperative preschool), so they thrive with this type of playground. There's also a tire mound to climb, a balance beam to balance on, and a basketball shooting station made from a grain wagon. There's lots of space to run around, and a few trees to climb, too. The big draw of Woolly Yak is the yaks! There are also Babydoll Southdown sheep, Kunekune pigs and chickens that live on the ranch. You can just sit on a bench and watch these animals do their things in their living spaces. Or, if you want a more up-close experience, you can purchase a ticket to one of the animal experiences, like storytime with sheep or tea with lambs. You can also experience brushing the yaks and giving them treats. If you didn't want to do any of those experiences, though, you could just visit the ranch to see the animals for free! There is no admission to enter the ranch or to park. It's a nice place to visit to stroll around and see what you can see.
