I got the smoked chicken with side - woweee, HUGE chicken quarter. So moist and smokey - really, one of the best I've ever had - ate over two meals! Beans were good too - perfect BBQ lunch. Stopped by on our way. Actually was hoping Smoking Q would be open and he was. Jody was there and there were a few people there including a few truck drivers that were parked across the road at the Pilot station. My smoked brisket sandwich was very tasty with a nice tender and little smoke flavor. Had the hot sauce which Jody said was a nice spiciness but you could still taste the meat. I'm a big supporter of local small businesses but I can't recommend this establishment. I ordered the chicken plate and was very disappointed to say the least. Once I opened the plate and saw the skin on the chicken I knew it would go down hill from there, as I peeled the skin back it was slimy underneath and was pinkish in color. It's a 1 and done for me, I would've been better getting some items off the roller grill at Pilot because at least you know what you're getting. The sides saved what would've been a total loss. Man oh man! First of all real friendly service, you can tell this man loves what he does and takes pride in what he cooks. The potato salad was so good that I could actually taste the potato. The greens not smoochy they had a little bite to them, with just the right amount of salt to heighten their taste as well as the meat in it. Stumbled across this place on a road trip....oh HOW LUCKY I AM TODAY!!! Simply delicious!!! My hubby and I shared a 1/3 rack of ribs....spicy!!!! Came with 2 sides for 16 dollars. Potions were generous!! The ribs were succulent and the sauce was not too sweet....just so good! We also had potato salad....just so tasty....and baked beans. Amazing pulled pork, chicken, and ribs. All three meats were flavorful, moist, and tender (but not overcooked). Homemade BBQ sauce is very good, but not neccessary. All meats taste great with or without sauce. I've eaten a lot of BBQ and judged BBQ contests all over the country, and Smokin' Q is competition quality. It's some of the best BBQ I've eaten. Great menu and great prices. The ribs were amazing! Great flavor and loved the pepper in the rub and sweet and tangy bbq sauce. Also got pork sandwich that was good. Honestly some of the best BBQ I've had. The ribs are SO tender! The brisket is perfect and the pulled pork has an amazing balance. We are visiting the area and drove half an hour to pick up the food based on Yelp reviews. I wish we were staying longer so we could do it again! I called ahead and they'd almost sold out but the owner put aside my order and waited for us to get there. The people were so nice and the servings were VERY generous.
