I've been here a few times now since my wife first discovered this food trailer. We've had the japchae, bulgogi, and chicken fried rice. The japchae is the winner, enough to feed two people that are not overly famished. Bulgogi is good and the fried rice was just okay. They don't do runny eggs, so you better tell them if that is your preference. Prices are a little higher than posted here but still decent and they accept credit cards! You wouldn't think much of Kangnam Style if you eyed it while you were driving past, but it really is a hidden gem. They are a food truck that stays in one parking lot, and they have four picnic tables to eat at. Their menu is small, but what they do have is delicious. I went with a party of 3, with each of us ordering a different entrée. All three were great. We also got an order of Hosi fries(fries absolutely COVERED with a spicy sauce), which was personally not to my liking. Would recommend you try this place if you're in the area! read more

I was in Harrisonburg for business, I yelped restaurants, looking for a gem, and I found it with this little food truck. But don't let the size of their Facitity fool you, they pack a huge size flavor. I ordered the deep fried pork with fried rice and the hoisin Fries, the Fries just sampling. They sounded interesting. First, these portions are large, 2 people can share a order. But if you want to be a glutton, by all means, go for it. Regrettably, I did. ; ). This meal was so good, I couldn't help my self. Then I tried the Fries, yum. They combined Heat, sweet, and crispy-ness with crinkle cut fries. Very good. The owners, where nice, they saw me waiting and opened up early for me. Always nice to see empathy in owners. Will definitely be back again. If you blink you will miss them, they are just before the tracks or just after the tracks depending on how you go. Inexpensive, Tasty Food When I was at JMU, this place was a must-try for any out-of-town visitors. The flavors of the meals and their special fries offered an eating experience unlike any other place in town. I remember getting meals from Kangnam Style at least once a month! Revisiting it yesterday, I ordered the chicken fried rice. Maybe it's just me, but I think they used frozen vegetables with the rice. The fried rice was tasty and the traditional egg on top made me happy. However, I felt like the fried rice was missing some sort of special sauce or spice. This place was fantastic! Me and my girlfriend shared crispy pork, bulgogi japchae, and hosi fries. The crispy pork was fresh and crunchy, but the bulgogi japchae was by far the best thing we ate. It came in generous portion, was flavorful, and full of bulgogi and veggies. We didn't know what to expect from the hosi fries, they were good but probably the weakest of the three. Their Bulgulgi is superb. The flavor is excellent. It's my favorite. Its everyones favorite and sells out. The rice is done in the traditional style. The angry chicken is also very good. It's quite spicy and has a nice flavor which not every hot food has. I recommend getting extra rice with it. I grew up eating traditional Korean food, these dishes are spot on. We were passing through Harrisonburg and wanted something not fried fast food for lunch. Korean food isn't my favorite, but I had some rice from a leftover poke bowl I wanted a protein for, and bulgogi sounded right. Nevermind the leftovers, this place is WOW. My wife opened her fried rice with chicken and I thought, "ooh, that looks good." Then I opened my bulgogi, and it was some of the best-looking food I've ever seen. Seriously, this pic does it no justice. Everything was placed just right and shouted, "I'm fresh! I'm delicious!" But did it taste good? Yes, very good. Kimchi isn't my fave, I liked the spice but the texture of cabbage doesn't work for me. The slaw was good, and the beef and vegetables, great! Here is a place I would recommend to any one who drives through this area to get one of the most tasty Korean meat dishes. The meat Beef BBQ () and Pork BBQ () appear and taste to be they are either a family recipe or he was a chef of a decent restaurant in South Korea. The sweet, salty and spicy are well balanced. The meats itself carries a tenderness along with just enough fats in them. I am pretty sure the meat are tenderized prior or during marination process. The meat are grilled just enough to have the taste of grill taste. Each plate comes with rice and side salad and an fried egg which is a classic touch in all this. The truck is a total surprise in the middle of no where for a great Korean traditional tasting food experience. I accidentally found this place on my way down from MA to GA and Harrisonburg, VA is a half way point but last a few years I make sure to stop here and drive early and fast enough to make their seven' O clock closing time. I'm from the Northern Virginia area which has A LOT of Korean restaurants. As a JMU student, I always thought Harrisonburg was void of Korean food, but I've come to found out about this food truck! After giving this place a try, this place will be my go-to whenever I'm in need to quick delicious Korean food. The taste and amount of food for just $7.00 (with tax included)? Now that's just a bargain that everyone should take advantage of. I got the Kangnam beef BBQ, which can also be called bulgogi. It was basically thinly sliced marinated beef with some rice, fried egg, kimchi, and salad with honey mustard. Kimchi was okay but their beef...just wow. The marinade was just on point. It was very flavorful yet not too sweet. I think I can honestly eat just the meat and be satisfied. Kimchi is spicy fermented cabbage and it's the most popular side dish in the Korean culture. They also have other options available with chicken and pork. You can request to have one of the sides to be removed, but it doesn't mean that you'll be getting more meat. They definitely deserve the ratings that they have and I'll be coming back very soon! read more

Finally, real Korean food in Harrisonburg! To be honest, the solid red truck and rip on the "Gangnam Style" viral video kept me away from this truck for awhile. I'd driven by this truck a bunch of times before I finally decided to try it one day. All I can say is that this is really among the only authentic Korean food spots in Harrisonburg. I got their spicy pork platter, which came with rice, kimchi and coleslaw/salad. Everything I ate reminded me of my childhood and Korean family gatherings I would attend where I would eat almost this exact meal. The pork was well marinated, keeping the meat super juicy and flavorful. A good touch of heat and sweetness accompanied the tasty char that was on the pork. The kimchi was the cabbage variety that is most commonly found in Korean cuisine and the slaw was thinly sliced cabbage topped with a ketchup-mayo combo (which is very popular in amongst Koreans). My friend ordered their fries (which had some name that I can't remember) that were very crispy and covered in a tangy sweet sauce. Super super amazing. The best part? Great ethnic food truck. For a town with a large multiethnic community, Harrisonburg seems a bit lacking in good Korean places. Thankfully this place exists. It's a non pretentious food truck with a very simple menu serving beef, chicken, and pork. I got the Kangnam beef bbq which was served with steamed rice, a fried egg, a small salad, and a small serving of kimchi. The kimchi was particularly flavorful and well seasoned. The beef itself was well marinated, similar to bulgogi. I wish there were more places like this in town. The food is great and very well priced for the portion size. read more

PERFECT. I've been craving Kbbq so bad and this really hit the spot. There's not many ethnic foods in Harrisonburg that's actually good but this tops the list. It's right near the railroad tracks and CVS. The owner(I'm assuming) was very kind. She brought out our food to the tables that are right next to the truck. I got the kangnam beef bbq. I loved the egg added to it and the sauce they have on it was great. It's not too salty like a lot of kbbq places. My friend got the fried pork and recommends it. We also got the fries and it was delicious. The sauce they have was pretty sweet. The poster said spicy, but I didn't taste any spiciness to it. Love love love! Grandma... Is that you? Holy molies. First off, as a NYC raised (surrounded by an abundance of great K-food restaurants), and home-cooked Korean food snob, I have to say that I have high standards. Kangnam Style does not disappoint. Good serving sizes, good customer service, and really authentic cooking. Seriously, the bulgogi is spot on. The fried rice is great even without meat (my husband got it vegetarian.) The bulgogi plate comes with a generous serving of rice, slaw, and kimchi, all of which are delicious. The rice is topped with a perfectly fried egg. It's hard to get bulgogi perfect, and they do it right. The fried rice has a beautiful sear to the vegetables, and although I wish it came with some chili sauce (gochujang), but it's good without too. Taco place next door is great, but here is the best Korean food you can get in the valley, hands down. If you haven't had Korean food, this is a great place to try it. Get the bulgogi plate. My grandma could have made that. And her barbecue is incomparable since I only remember it in my dreams. read more
