Absolutely Fabulous! As a first-timer to Smoky Martins, I knew it would be good but I didn't anticipate HOW good!! From the minute we walked in we knew it was going to be amazing. GREAT service, clean location, friendly staff, extensive menu...and it smelled so delicious. Phone ordering was a snap, as the owner helped me determine what I needed for a team picnic. We ordered 10 lbs of mac and cheese and 8 lbs of pulled pork for about 80-90 people; and while there was plenty of other food (hot dogs and hamburgers)--most people were able to have a slider sized bun of pork and side of mac n cheese. None to spare--it was just perfect. We anticipated feeding 35-40 with that amount but like i said it seemed to stretch on--we WILL be back!! thanks Smoky Martin!! read more

My brother and I stopped here while driving through Meadville recently. We're both huge fans of bbq, so this place was right up our alley. Right away I noticed how very cool it was that I could watch them cook the pizza at the front of the shop. The employees were very engaging, and it just overall appeared to be a neat little place. I ordered the pulled pork nachos, aka the pig pen, which were well balanced with toppings. I was intrigued with the banana peppers as a topping. My brother had some wings and a brisket sandwich. He absolutely loved the wings, and he has high standards for chicken wings. The taste of the bbq sauce was on the sweeter side, but decent. I'm really regretting not getting a pizza because they looked so good! There is no indoor seating but there are several picnic tables creatively placed outside of the shop. Parking is pretty limited. Hands down one of the WORST places I have been to! I heard good things about this oven they use.. but obviously it shouldn't be used for just anything. French onion soup was subpar, the pizza was charred on the bottom, the pepperoni cupped up to make pools of grease in each one. It's not the quality of the ingredients, it's the quality of the workers. Anyone can just slop something on a plate and send it out. I'm really not one to complain but I will NEVER eat there again! Updated Review: I first wrote a review here back in September when they first opened, and since then, I have visited several more times, and I have enjoyed every single thing I have ever tried here (well, except for the mustard greens, they were just O.K. LOL). From the pizzas, my favorite is the brisket, and I also really enjoy the delicious apple harvest which is a unique pizza that you will not find anywhere else. I also like the sandwiches (I prefer the baguette style roll over the ciabatta), and the french fries are great too (especially dipped in gravy . . . YUMM YUMM). I also want to thank Ron and his team for donating food for the fire fighters in Cambridge Springs during the recent tragedy there when the Riverside burned down. A friend of mine called me today and told me that they are looking to purchase local honey and blueberries, as well as sourcing local Voodoo beer and local maple syrup for creating some sauces which they are going to make with these local ingredients . . . they sound delicious. Excellent food and friendly, fast, service, this is no doubt, the best BBQ AND best pizza in town. P.S. Now that the weather is better, they have a picnic tables outside if you wish to eat there, but it is still primarily a take-out place. i usually call in the order, and it is ready for pick-up when I get there. read more

This place is a hidden gem for people traveling. We happened to come across it when traveling through and it was amazing. Their bbq was phenomenal and their employees were kind and explained everything and gave us suggestions. 3 1/2 stars Baby back ribs had excellent smoke but were over cooked as the ends were more like jerky. Did not like the coleslaw as it was very sweet and so fine it had no texture. Found the place by following the smoke. They had a very interesting selection of cold beverages. read more

As you aren't open here yet ,in the hermitage area, but are bringing your "pig rig" trailer here three times a week. I thought I'd leave a review here for now. We tried the half chicken and fries on Tuesday. Love the chicken it's crispy on the outside with the smoky flavor and juicy on the inside, the bbq sauce is very good it's think about stays on the food without running off. The fries are seasoned and were too crispy or soggy they were just right. Today(Thur) we got the brisket sandwich which was very tender and again smoky flavor and nice think bbq sauce, was was by far my favorite so far, again fries were good, loved the beans (which are a mix of different types of beans) really like the potato hash, the only thing I felt was lacking something was the coleslaw. Was looking for a good pizza place near Conneaut Lake and thankfully hit up Yelp to assist with the search. Got two pies - both of which were great but the brisket pizza was phenomenal. The smokiness of the meat was nicely balanced by the spinach and red peppers. Grabbed two dozen smoked wings for good measure, and the bleu cheese side was amazing. My sister said she could have made a meal of celery and the sauce all by themselves. Looking forward to my next trip up here in July so I can try the BBQ fare! read more

Comparable to The Salt Lick when I visited Texas when it comes to the Brisket . Also the added bonus of wood fired pizza with brisket on it . Ya brisket on the pizza A++ on that . Just checked this out today. Got a 1/2 rack of ribs and a buffalo chicken pizza. Ribs were solid, only thing is I think they needed an extra thing of sauce on the side, otherwise they were tender and enjoyed them. I ordered a large batch of ribs for my old Penn State boys and took them to State College, where we camp on private property every year and then attend a game. Stopped by this evening for some pulled pork BBQ. Having moved from Memphis several years ago, I was skeptical about what I would find. Walking in the door, the aroma of BBQ filled the air. My mouth started watering immediately. My wife and I ordered pulled pork sandwiches (sauce on the side), slaw, and french fries. The staff was very friendly and informative, and there was hardly any wait. The pork was cooked to perfection and the flavor was was as good as any I have had in the South. Memphis has nothing on Smokey Martins. The sandwiches were huge along with a very large serving of fries. I was a little disappointed in the sauce. It was very sweet and seemed like a commercial sauce, not home made. If I'm wrong, I apologize. We will definitely be back to try out some other menu items. read more

I really wanted to like this place and was disappointed after reading such great reviews. No indoor seating, they are looking to add some seating adjacent to the building. Highlight was the sauce - thick, rich, and tangy so big plus. Charged $8.50 for half pound but portion size was definitely small, much closer to 1/3 pound than 1/2 pound (I know because I eat at Rudy's BBQ all the time, they weigh it right in front of you, I am STUFFED if I get a full 1/2 pound and certainly was not). Brisket was chopped instead of sliced. Meat was really greasy as you can see in pic and was rather bland, really needed sauce to carry it. Slaw was unremarkable but OK, cabbage chopped really fine, almost minced, heavy vinegar. For a small town like Meadville, probably the best BBQ in the area. read more
