Yikes!! My wife and our 5 year old granddaughter bought 2 smoothies from this location around 1pm on Saturday , May 4th. After leaving the store it was discovered that pieces of bright blue plastic was in the bottom of both drinks. My wife returned to the store and requested to speak to the manager . She was told he was not available and employees seemed less than concerned about what had happen. My wife requested a refund which she was given and asked that the manager call her--as of today she has not been contacted. We are in the process of calling their corporate offices to report this location and this incident. WE WONT BE BACK! read more

If I could give this place a lower star i would. This place is disgusting you can tell there is never a manager working. I just got home with my smoothie bowl. I started eating it and immediately noticed that something was wrong with it. There were chunks of ice throughout the bowl. Like huge chunks of ice. There was nothing fresh about the bowl. The fruit tasted weird and then they left off the honey. I immediately call the store and the guy answered saying"hello". I thought I had the wrong number. I had to ask if this was smoothie king. I explained to him that I just left and the way my smoothie bowl was and he said he remembered me but there is nothing he could do bc that's just how they are made. He was old me verbatim, "this location does not have fresh bowls and sometimes bc it is pre-made, this could happen". What!!!! Are you serious? I told him I live right down the road and would like to bring it back. He said he can't do anything. The bowl was NOT edible at all. Not surprised to see other poor reviews here. Needs new management and staff. Staff couldn't have been more unpleasant if they tried, unresponsive, overtly bored, unengaging. On their phones the whole time I was there. Sorry to burden you guys with my patronage! That alone is not enough for a negative review however. They didn't have drink carriers to bring three drinks to my car. One split on top of my vehicle and I saw the employee and his friend laughing through the window at what happened. I have only tried 2 of their smoothies here, but man are they good! I have tried the strawberry kiwi (?) I think that's the name. It's the gluten free one. It is very creamy and has a tartness too it that compliments the sweetness of it. I just really love it. The other one I tried was blueberry madness. That was great as well. You have to be careful with places like this, though, because sometimes certain things on their menu can be misleading. Some things aren't as healthy as they seem. I do like how they sell little snacks and cliff bars. You can also add things to your smoothie for energy, protein, etc. A little pricey, but you're practically getting a meal in a cup so it's worth it. read more

Ever watch the movie, Zootopia, where they walk into the DMV and they only have sloths working behind the counter? Well, it's just like that here, but instead of smiling sloths, it's unmotivated teenage kids looking at each other while sharing one blender container. My husband's cup wasn't filled all the way up, and I watched them pour the remaining amount in a kids cup and take to the back for their own enjoyment. I was a little weary of trying out this location due to the reviews below but more often than not customers will take the time to leave reviews when they're upset and not when they're satisfied. There was nothing wrong with this location, it's smoothies nor its service. The cashier greeted me when I came in, the location was clean and my smoothie was great. I was in and out within 5 minutes. The only thing that was off was the scanner couldn't be located to redeem Smoothie King rewards. But hey, that's what happens when you have teenagers staffing the location. I LOVE(D) SMOOTHIE KING... UNTIL...I went to this location. Just to give you an idea of how often I went to this location as well as the location on Houze Rd (who is owned by the same person btw) the handful of awesome employees (nick and a few others are GREAT)...I walk in and they all know my "usual"... As I did go there 5-6 times per week. After now frequenting this location for almost 2years I am SO disappointed over the unacceptable behavior and treatment that I've experienced over the last month or so. I loved the fact that the owner Josh hires teens and college students as I am a mother of teens as well and for the most part they are all very respectful and polite. During a couple of my visits (either by myself, me bringing my family of 6 or entire sports teams) I encountered VERY rude treatment by one particular employee named Ryan... He made a smoothie I ordered (I've only had one kind of smoothie there and that's all I order so trust me, I know how it's made) and it was super watery and just not right. They were very busy so, I totally understood that they were in a rush, I get it... But I just mentioned to him, hey can we just blend this a little longer etc.. Trying to make light of it...He then copped a major attitude, snatched the smoothie from me (let me remind you there is a store FULL of customers- very embarrassing) slopped it back in the blender, slopped it back in the cup and slid it across the counter to me. Other customers were commenting by saying "wow...unreal... Is h serious... And of course, it was still just as bad- So I just chalked it up bc I do come here so much- everyone is entitled to a bad day right?... So I say to said employee, you know what- maybe it's just me but, I'll just take a refund.... After an eye roll and slamming of equipment, he says "I need your receipt"... As I'm standing there with a big SK cup.. So I tell him, "you crumpled it up after I paid for my smoothie".... Attitude kicks back in, and he counts 9 dollars and some change out and throws it on the counter. Myself as well as the other customers stood there with our jaws dropped. I just shook my head and told him I paid $10.62 (lrg choc lean1 add peanut butter- as always).... He huffs and puffs back to the register frustrated about counting out the difference and throws the remainder on the counter. (There is much more reaction from the line of custs but I will save the owner the embarrassment.) I took a pc of paper out of my purse, wrote my name and number on it and asked said employee to give it to Josh for a return call... He shrugged it off and said "whatever".... After a week of going to the Houze Rd location ands till no call from Josh, I happened to come in at a time where it was just Josh the owner there by himself so I brought the situation up to him and asked him if he got a msg to call me- he laughs and says no. I begin to tell him the story.. He gives a couple "wows" and "really's"... Says "Yeah, Ryan is pretty snarky and feels like he's the big man on campus now that he's in college.... And your total is....." I just shake my head.... He literally showed no interest in how his employee acted as a representation of HIM, his business, how he acted in front of other customers or how he treated me- a customer that spends $300 per month between both of his locations. NO INTEREST AT ALL. I'm an adult, the said employee is an adult and this is a business, there's nothing personal so I continue to go to both locations...I see Josh the owner and he doesn't even make eye contact... This past Saturday I go in and Ryan is the one to ring me up- thinking all of this is behind us - Nope, Mr. Snarky takes my payment and throws my change on the counter- yes, again in front of customers. I say out loud "wow I see nothing has changed." In the meantime, I've went to the location in Dunwoody and had awesome service however it's a shame that even though the locations are independently owned- they are still all of the same entity- Smoothie King and I hate that I am giving my business to any type of representation that doesn't respect or appreciate their customers. To sum it up- these 2 locations: Winward Pkwy and Houze Rd. who are coincidentally ran by the same person are not recommendable. I will never bring any business to either of them and I will me sure to spread the word about how horribly this situation (as well as others) were handled. My boyfriend and I frequent this smoothie king after our workouts, we usually always get the same things (gladiators with strawberries and bananas). On this particular day we went in ordered our smoothies. This guy (don't know his name, but he was was a young dark skinned heavy set male) made the smoothies and the other attendant (tall, Caucasian male with black rimmed glasses) lazily poured them into our cups and proceeded to miss. Didn't really care considering he cleaned it up. Then we paid and left. As we dive away I noticed something in my teeth. It was stringy and grass like. My boyfriend has the same things in his drink. I pulled one out and we walked back into the store. I showed them the grass like thing and they proceeded to blame it on us. He opened the drink very smugly and said "since you left the store we don't know if you put it in there".... My boyfriend and I were both stunned. They offered to remake it only after some argument and extreme attitude. We were so upset and angry, we told then not to worry about it and just left and proceeded to go to robecks. No other smoothie king location had treated us this way...We only go here because it is the closest to our house. We refuse to go in there if they is working. Also, every other location we went to the workers had smoothie king uniforms while these two gentlemen looked like they walked in off the street and jumped behind the counter to work. This is my go-to Smoothie King! Fast service, the store is always clean, and the smoothie mixologists are generally pretty knowledgable about everything on the menu. Personally, I just love smoothies. Throwing fruit, protein, and ice into a machine that swirls that deliciousness around at high speeds. Get the right combination and you have a full meal. For extra savings be sure to check out their "specials" that they run, including seasonal smoothies and MEDIUM MONDAY! I just quit my job working here, the boss is cheap and does not care about the workers or the store. We were constantly missing ingredients or blenders/ blender lids. When something broke, (the fridge, toilet, freezer, blender for example) it stayed broken. Sure, the workers can be slow but we were not taught how to properly make a smoothie or act with customers. My coworker made themself a smoothie and found a cockroach in it. Small cockroaches run all over the store and like to huddle under the powder shelf, fruit flies swarm over the powders and dead bugs are found in there occasionally. Many times I would scoop a bug while making a smoothie for a customer and thank God I noticed and quickly threw it away. My boss was aware of the conditions and did nothing to help. He would smack the cockroaches with his hands, and not wash them. I did not see a single worker there ever wash their hands. He made us, young teenagers, close the store individually. I would be all alone, closing the store, terrified, and a person would come up to the window and bang on it because our boss insisted on leaving the open sign ON when we were closed. We would often have individual closing shifts, so for 5 hours I would not be able to go to the bathroom and I would have to make a bunch of smoothies while also taking orders and washing the blenders WHILE trying to close the store. If we are still clocked in 20 minutes after closing, our boss yelled at us, so we would clock out and continue working for another hour or so without pay. This is the most stressful thing and our boss never appreciated us for it. He is very rude and only cares about money; he often made us work in horrible weather conditions. If he needed to come stop by late at night, he would make us stay after hours and did not pay us extra or anything. Overall this place is disgusting and does not deserve your time. update: Totally forgot to mention that our boss, Josh, was never there, never helped, never trained any of us. Also, I once noticed that we had been serving EXPIRED YOGURT in smoothies and I quickly threw it away but it had already been served to many customers. Also, the weight gain powder and the lean powder would get switched so we would be serving 2 cups of weight gain to young women that just came back from a workout until I noticed. The coconut water was also expired a couple times. This place could easily be shut down if a health inspector ever bothered to come. read more

I always go early in the morning between 7-8 a.m. its always one of two guys ( my receipt says Matt C.) but the other guy is equally as uninterested in their jobs. After waiting in line for 20 minutes, I get to the register to order, and the employee tells me that they are not participating. I even showed him the promotion email that had their address signed on the bottom AND said that this was for Greater Atlanta Locations. The customer behind me said that this was dishonest advertisement and that she would no longer give this francise her business. He then yelled at her (in front of the entire place packed with customers) and said "I DON'T CARE!!" I have been a loyal customer to Smoothie King and go to them weekly for $5 Medium Mondays.
