Smosh Town is one of my favorite smash burgers in the LA County area. The wife and I both ordered O's way burger which was the grilled onion version and it was fantastic! The patties were pretty thin and crispy and the bun was so soft and delicious. I'm definitely coming back. The downside is that the burger itself is small, so if you eat a lot you may need to order two. The loaded tater tots were delicious! The portion was huge! Thank you Smosh Town for a five-star burger experience. I had this place bookmarked for quite sometime now and was super excited to have accidentally ran into this place while driving. I immediately stopped and ran to get my burger order on. I ordered the classic and the loaded tots with a cookie on the side (yeah, it was cheat day). I loved my smash burger! It was everything I could've asked for flavor wise! The price was on point too! $7 for a burger this good is worth the price IMO. The loaded tots were bomb! I had been meaning to try this food truck for a while. I had heard of smosh burgers as a style of cooking, but never had one. The pics on Instagram of their bacon cheeseburgers made my mouth drool. So, that was it. I had to have it! It's on a not very busy street away from the usual crazy busy spots of Pasadena, so it's easy to park and get your food. I went twice in one week. That's how good it was. And I never do that - go back to the same restaurant twice in one week. Probably cause the few I would are too rich for my blood except special occasions. The menu is small. Two different cheeseburgers - one with grilled onions (O style) and one with raw onions. There are two wagyu patties, and this is probably the best meat I've had in a burger in all of Los Angeles. I also like that even with two patties, it's not an overly gigantic burger that leaves you feeling too stuffed. The bacon is also top notch and cooked perfectly. I was blown away. The fries and tater tots both held up in a 15 minute drive back home, which is impressive and shows they crisped them up properly and drained them. Both were great. I can't recommend them enough. Here was my experience on a Saturday Parking: It's a food truck between neighborhood parking and a plaza. Seating: You basically make your own seat. Feels: It's in the area of Pasadena City College. You're not exactly around the buzz of downtown Pasadena but around the corner thus being less intense for parking. It's a chill and friendly charm of Pasadena. You can hang out but moreover great for a grab and go spot. FOOD: OG Burger (Recommend) Your simple cheeseburger with their special wagyu beef. The texture all feels the same but the meat is charred and grilled to bring out that smokey flavor. Smosh Tots (Recommend) Yum! I got everything on it and it was a pleasurable bite. The tots were crispy and cooked. Onions cheese and the wagyu beef made it flavorful CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! Friendly and quick. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. Awesome! While I love smash burgers, the same can't be said for Smosh Town. TL:DR: the paper thin wagyu beef patties are overshadowed by everything else in the burger. Price: 3/5 $8 for a burger with maybe 4oz of meat at most is a bit pricey. Regular sides are $3 (needed for filler otherwise you'll be hungry). Drinks $2 for a soda can or bottled water. Customer service: 5/5 The cashier was polite and welcoming. Was able to order and get my food within 10 minutes. Food: 2/5 I ordered O's way and an order of tater tots. Despite being the only person there, my burger was missing the charred lacy texture that all smash burgers are known for. On top of that, you'd never know you were eating wagyu patties if not stated on the side of the truck. The taste of the meat gets lost with the copious amounts of ketchup and mustard, thick pickle chips and grilled onions. My side of tater tots were fine. I tried Smosh Town for the first time on Friday, February 28th at about 10:30PM. They park in the parking lot of an auto body shop on Hill Avenue just south of the 210 Freeway. The sign indicates that they are open Tuesday thru Saturday from 7pm to Sell Out or midnight. This is a very simple menu; however, the food is loaded on flavor. They have two burger options. It appears the main difference between the burgers is fried vs. raw onions. I had the Number 2 with no ketchup. This burger was really truly delicious. They have the grilling method down on that patty. It was absolutely yummy! We also had an order of the loaded tots, which were equally as good and absolutely topped to perfection. They have a couple of picnic tables outside. The service is extremely friendly. I think I will try this again in a couple of weeks and introduce some family to this great Pasadena food truck. 5 Stars because they basically make one thing and it's darn good. Pros: 1. Delicious cheeseburger. It's moist. The edges have a slight "burnt" crispiness/toastiness that is perfect and where it doesn't taste like charcoal. The balance of meat and cheese and bun and mustard/ketchup/onions is perfect. 2. I ate two and it wasn't too heavy. (I was only too full because I ate half a cup of fries and that's what pushed me over). 3. The owner Ohan was really nice, and I like that they have seats and lights next to the truck. I know some people thought the seating was unsatisfactory, but hey it's not a restaurant, it's a truck. And most trucks don't have either - so I'm often eating standing up or sitting on the curb. I like it here and I'll be back :) Cons: 1. It's small. You need to eat two to be full. 2. The fries are just ok. Above average, but the star here is the burger. The outside of the fries is pretty good, light and toasty, but the inside is too dry and starchy for me. 3. Personally I like to have some tomato or lettuce in my burger and this (or any other addition) is not an option. However, I'm not bothered by this because they have their one specialty and aren't trying to sell a chicken sandwich or fish sandwich or whatever else. Disappointed. Was walking to In 'n Out, saw a random food truck and took a chance. For more than twice the price you can be more than doubly disappointed. The bun and two thin patties were ok, no way to tell if really wagyu, less meat than a double-double. I asked for waffle fries and they substituted seasoned curly fries, which are my least favorite style of French fry. Not wanting to waste food, I ate them anyway, then asked afterward why they would do me like that. The response was, well, we were out of waffle fries so we just gave you curly ones, better luck next time, Sir. Next time? Nope. Bait and switch some other sucker. Burger+fries*can of soda= $15+$2 tip=$17 That's a gourmet priced swindle. They could've at least asked me before the switch, I'd have opted for tater tots and given a better review. Me and my girlfriend both got the O's Way Burger and shared a fry, and my nephew got the Classic Burger with fries. First off, the fries were really good and tasted good dipped in either ranch or ketchup or just on their own! Likewise, the burgers were all really good as the meat had really good texture and flavor that made it stand above your average smash burger. The only thing I would have liked to have been different is perhaps adding some kind of signature sauce to make the burger standout even more instead of just ketchup and mustard. There were really only two downsides. One being the location as there wasn't really anywhere to sit-down and eat at nearby other than in your car or right outside of it which isn't all that big of a deal since it is a food truck. The other downside being that the food didn't fully fill us up so it seemed slightly overpriced for the size and value of the food. This review is only for the breakfast burrito because it's the only thing I've tried so far. The breakfast burrito is average size but heavy and very filling. It has plenty of eggs, potatoes, seasoned rice pilaf and meat-in my case bacon. It also has a creamy green sauce inside that doesn't taste of avocado but has a mild cilantro flavor. The sauce is advertised as spicy but it is not spicy. I forgot to mention the burrito also has cheese in it. In my opinion the cheese puts it over the top for richness and if I ordered the burrito again I would ask them to hold the cheese just to reduce the richness of it all. At $7, tax included, it is an excellent value considering how full I got before I could finish it. That is rare for me. One more thing, this is a food truck, in case you didn't know.
