    Breakfast Special #3
    James Y.

I stoppedhere, first time, before heading to church. I went with the breakfast special #3 which was bacon, eggs, and French toast. The service was good. It has the feel of an old diner with booths for seating. They fo have a $1 surcharge for eggs. The food was hood.

Pete's Blue Chip is a classic fast-casual gem nestled in Eagle Rock, the place does offer drive-thru. Has limited parking and off street as well. Even though the interior is dated. It's very well maintained. Pete's Blue Chip absolutely delivers when it comes to hearty, no-frills breakfast fare at an affordable option. Out of all the breakfast spots in the neighborhood. Pete's is my first choice. Today, I stopped in for their Breakfast Burrito, and it hit all the right notes. The burrito comes loaded with your choice of meat (I went with bacon), perfectly scrambled eggs, golden potatoes, and plenty of melted cheese--all wrapped in a warm, toasted tortilla. The real standout, though, was the house-made pico de gallo. Fresh, zesty, and just the right amount of kick, it brought everything together and cut through the richness beautifully. Service is quick, the vibe is laid-back, filled with the local community and the portions are generous. If you're in Eagle Rock and craving a solid, satisfying breakfast, Pete's Blue Chip is worth the stop.

Drive Thru Service Review Only: The boy child wanted a vanilla shake, so I went to the closest diner to his school. The drive thru was empty, and the order was quick and easy. As we waited at the drive thru window, I can hear the shake being made in the blender, so I knew my son was in for a treat. Happy Kid + Happy Mom = Happy Life

Blue Chip burger and fries. Chili on the side.

Came here for the first time. It's a winner! Got the "Blue Chip" burger combo - the burger was tasty - and it wasn't stuffed to the gills with lettuce - you could taste all the separate components: bun, burger, onion, tomato, sauce. The Fries! The Fries! They were crispy and long and lightly seasoned. I don't like seasoned fries that much but these were exceptional - very slight dusting, but it enhanced the crispiness of the fries. I usually order fries well-done, but I forgot to, but never mind, these were perfect. Plus, they were really nice there. Order at the counter, and quick table service. We will return and I'll get the chili cheese fries which we hear are excellent.

Very disappointed in my pastrami rami sandwich, I remember back in my day I would get more bang for buck, $18 this is not worth it. Plz save your money and go somewhere in NELA. Do better whoever owns this place no cap

A few TVs over the bar to watch a game. The menu is a yummy selection of Korean inspired bar food. Can definitely recommend the wings, bulgogi burgers, and wagyu bone marrow corn cheese. The cocktails are tasty. Loved the Meet Me in Pearis cocktail. They also have a good, but limited, happy hour (5-8 Wed & Thurs, Sun all day) only served at the bar. The kimchi cheese fries are a great shareable or a good side for a low-key fatty like me. Only complaint is portions are a bit small. Service was good. Friendly staff. There's street meter parking or a pay lot behind the building.

"Yicha" more like "Yi-naw."…read more I really wanted to like this place, but the experience just didn't justify the hype or the prices. The food looked like it was trying very hard to be trendy and "experimental," but underneath all of that, most of the dishes were surprisingly bland. Not bold, not nuanced, just lacking flavor altogether. For a restaurant positioning itself as elevated Korean-inspired food, the actual taste felt forgettable. The portions also felt wildly overpriced for what you get. Small plates are one thing when the flavor delivers, but paying premium prices for tiny servings that don't leave an impression is another. It honestly felt more like paying for branding and neon lighting than for quality food. And the biggest red flag? The restaurant was nearly empty at 7:30 PM on a Saturday night. In Highland Park where good spots are packed on weekends, that tells you a lot. Atmosphere and cocktails can only carry a restaurant so far if the food itself isn't giving people a reason to come back. I already know the response will probably mention "modern interpretations," or "playful experimentation," but none of those things excuse bland food and poor value. Reinventing a cuisine is fine but .... it still has to taste good.

LATE REVIEW…read more Finding little neighborhood gems when it comes to food has always been an exciting experience for me. Having family alongside makes the journey more special. We chose Holy Saints to announce our baby's gender with our parents and we had an amazing time during our intimate dinner here. The restaurant's ambiance was the perfect combination of homey and inviting. It is a smaller place and the number of tables are limited so I highly suggest making a reservation when dining here. During our dinner, it was a bit difficult to have a full blown conversation as the place was packed with guests when we came plus the loud background music that was playing the whole night. Service and food were nothing but amazing! Their menu is very limited. Maybe not everyone will appreciate that, but I think it is more intentional on what is being served to the table. Our highlight of the night was the Grandpa's Pan Roasted Duck Magret Au Poivre for sure. It was so tender on the inside and crispy on the outer edges! We never had a meal like that elsewhere and we will for sure be back just because of it.

Got together with friends for an overdue dinner at Holy Saints on a Saturday evening. Made a…read morereservation for 7:15 and got seated quickly (didn't have to wait for the other couple). I ordered the bread plate and the BBQ butter was unique and really good. Friends ordered the griddle cakes and potato appetizers, both very good and decent portion sizes. For dinner my husband got the lamb (because they were out of the catch of the day which he was looking forward to), I got the pasta without prosciutto, friends got the shrimp and grits (head on shrimp hard to manage when they are covered in sauce but it was very tasty) and he got the same pasta dish as me with the prosciutto. We all agreed the food overall was better than good. The service felt strange. We were greeted with a friendly smile but once we started ordering dinner and made a joke about wanting to make a substitution (which we knew ahead they don't do) it felt like things changed. Maybe it was earlier when one of us asked if they could close the front door because it was drafty and cold (no they can't close the front door). Can't quite put a finger on it. Our reservation was at 7:15. By 8:30 the place was empty except for us. We were finishing up but weren't done. We weren't offered a dessert menu but instead they started putting up the chairs and by 8:45 they turned some of the lights off. They close at 9 but it was obvious they all wanted to get things closed up so we got our check and left. Overall, $250 for 4 people produced a tasty meal for each of us but in Pasadena where we have a LOT of choices we probably won't be back. Especially when a place states "no substitutions" and they also won't accept any requests for meat to be cooked to a certain temp. To me that seems to indicate the kitchen staff is either handcuffed, or they are unable to act on the fly if someone needs to make a change or wants their meet cooked medium well. I want to 100% enjoy my meal and experience when I go out and spend good money and Holy Saints wasn't that for me.

Expect to spend a few shiny pennies, but it's well worth the splurge. We went all out, and enjoyed the asparagus fries, some mocktails, and adult beverages to enjoy along side our steak dinners. We pretty much all ordered the Bistro Plate, and all loved it! All the meats were cooked perfectly, and the soup was amazing! That nights soup special was the ginger carrot. It was so well balanced, smooth, full flavored and all around perfect. My friend and I, also ordered a side of mashed potato, and again amazing and worth it. The whole meal was the perfect portion. No leftovers, and certainly not hungry for the rest of the night! Our server was on point, attentive professional. The ambiance was warm and welcoming.
