SO. FREAKING. GOOD. We had the Cali Juicy Lucy, a double smash burger, and the Gogi Fries. All were DELICIOUS. Food was quick. Service was super friendly. Taste, Quality, Service, Speed - hit every mark for us! Can't wait to go back and try the rest on the menu.

Needed a meal before going to the movies and I saw that bun & blanket had vegan items! The price was steep like $15+ steep. We drove here and almost missed it because the food truck was right in front of the brewery so we needed to u-turn and there wasn't much parking, so be prepared to find your spots! They were quick to take our order but it took quite a while to receive it. There wasn't much people there so that surprised me. There was plenty of seating around the corner so be sure to look there! I wished the size was a littk2 bigger, I left hungry and had to order a snacky snack at the movies

The food was amazing; would love to go back to try more items on the menu. Had a double smash burger and lemon pepper seasoned fries which was just perfect. Customer service was friendly and welcoming too.

Best Smash Burger in Town - Bun & Blanket Food Truck Absolutely blown away by the smash burger here. The patty had that perfect crispy edge with juicy, beefy flavor packed into every bite. The cheese was melted just right--gooey and rich--and the sauce? Game changer. Tangy, savory, with just a touch of sweetness that tied everything together. The bun was soft yet held its shape--no soggy mess--like a cozy blanket wrapping the whole thing up (fitting for the name!). Every ingredient felt thought-out and dialed in. You can tell they care about getting it right. It's not just a burger--it's a crave-worthy experience. If you see Bun & Blanket parked nearby, don't walk--run. Your tastebuds will thank you.

Picked up a double smash burger and loaded fries to go. The truck is outside the paperback brewing co. Service is quick from when you order to when it's ready. The burger is juicy and hits the spot. The loaded fries is plenty to share & I love how much cheese, sauce and caramelized onions there are. Parking- street parking

Four of us went to Paperback for some beers and we got double and single burgers plus the Bulgogi fries. Everything was hot and fresh and the patties were nice and smashed, just the way i like them. Fries were the best, but sharing them mad them more diet-friendly. Prices were reasonable.

It's a good thing Bun & Blanket is a permanent fixture at Paperback Brewing, so I don't have to chase them all over the city. They have the best smash burgers - possibly one of the best burgers in general - that I've ever had. Their jalapeño relish is phenomenal, elevating an already excellent burger. Their fries are crisp and just salty enough. Paired with one of Paperback's brews, it's a perfect meal. They also have specialty burgers, like the BBQ Pulled Pork Stuffed burger, which is great as well. I wish they would bottle and sell their jalapeño relish. It is SO. GOOD.

Tasty food, and not salty at all. the patty hit the spot and service was great. I got the single smash-simple and to the point.

I've been to paperback countless times but last Sunday was my first time trying Bun & Blanket out front and man was it good! The chili cheese fries were so Delicious. I loved the smash burger , I shared it with my toddler who also thought it was great. We both really enjoyed the pickles. 10/10 I will definitely try more on the menu next time we visit. Good food, quick service and very friendly people! *I had a typo prior, I didn't realize it autocorrected! The service was excellent! My apologies *

Double Smash burger with side of fries
    Rusty D.

This burger was a hit. Got a double smash without the raw onions and a side of fries. Burger was very tasty. Right ratio of cheese to meat. Enjoyed the all parts of the burger. I was going to only order a single because I wasn't sure how hungry I was actually. Ended up ordering a double and I looked down and I had crushed it before I knew it. Fries were also very good. They were a little thicker than shoestring fries. Quick service. It's awesome it's connected to Paperback brewery. Great beers and lots of seating. We will be back.

This food truck was outside of paperback brewing - so so good!! I got the birria fries - amazing. So much meat, perfect amount of flavor- overall great. The guys in the truck were so helpful and kind. Overall amazing and will def be back to try other foods!!

(Dined 10/28/23 SA @ 12:00pm and once before): I understood the bun... but what about the blanket!? I was in attendance for Paperback Brewing Co.'s 3rd annual Halloween celebration with a limited edition t-shirt and a pint of beer for $15.00, when I also opted for some food at their own personal residence kitchen, Bun & Blanket Food Truck. I've tried their food once before and was satisfied with it, so I figured I needed something to soak up all of the suds I planned on throwing back on this lovely afternoon. Would I ultimately be won over by their buns, or would it be a snoozer affair that required a blanket to sleep on!? QUICK BIO "Co-founded by a classically trained chef and his business partner and childhood friend, Bun & Blanket came to life in 2022 as the two foodies imagined how to adapt some of Los Angeles' most popular flavors into fusioned burgers. Once the menu was developed, it just had to be shared." PURCHASE Southwestern Diablo Burger ($15.00): A special Halloween-themed burger made with a juicy meat patty, Oaxaca cheese, and chipotle topped with a chipotle slaw, cilantro, and serrano chili chimichurri all between a black bun, this was a somewhat messy meal but well worth. Although it had some spiciness, I wished it was spicier. And beware... the food coloring used for the bun stayed with me for a couple days if you knew what I meant! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=f5H5pvLObipzQO8fqPfLsw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Chili Cheese Fries ($9.00): A tasty basket of crispy fries (as long as you ate them quickly enough) topped with chili, cheddar cheese, sour cream, onions, and sliced jalapeños, I enjoyed this but wished there was more topping coverage of everything. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=rAahRG3i1cA-Kxhl5yiZsw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw SERVICE A friendly man greeted me as I approached the truck, he quickly took my order, gave me a buzzer, and about fifteen minutes later my buzzer was blowing up like a disco ball letting me know my grub was ready. All was straightforward and greatly appreciated - thank you! PARKING (FREE) Being a food truck, they were at the beck and call wherever the event was held. In this case, the event/residency took place at Paperback Brewing Co. with plenty of free parking along the main drag of Magnolia Ave. and all nearby streets (including San Fernando Rd.). Another option was a driving service like a bus, taxi, Lyft, or Uber (no nearby Metro train station) - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Your standard self-sufficient food truck with an exterior food menu, separate order and pick up windows, a small area for condiments, napkins, and utensils, no designated seating area except for the brewery itself, and natural lighting was prevalent during the daytime while minimal electric street and truck lighting glowed at night. There were no TVs nor any background music except what was playing inside the brewery. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=GiIrgDorCthKv4sWxHmMJg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Bun & Blanket Food Truck was a tasty time for my second go-around, and I would definitely consider them again. My only fear would be their limited menu and eventually trying everything over time. The prices were a tad on the higher end, the food and portion sizes were good, and the service was easy and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $24.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 4.0 STARS

However, since we came at night time where most of them were closed, we got parking right in front. This spot is more of a take-away place, with 6 counter seatings indoors, and maybe 3 chairs right out front. This tiny burger spot seems to be run by just one person, so it helps that you can self-order at their kiosk. He was very attentive juggling between cooking the made-to order items, and check in on the costumers in case they had questions. After placing my order at their one device, it was roughly a 15 minutes wait. Here's what we ordered: CHEESEBURGER - $9.90 High-quality beef patty smashed with grilled onions, serviced on a toasted Martin's potato bun and topped with pickles and their fry sauce. I really enjoyed this rich tasting burger. I think that fry sauce was a huge factor...but also that soft bun...and that flavorful beef patty. I really enjoyed this. FRIES - $5.25 Golden Thing-Cut Fries. Perfect. I mean this was made to order so they were warm, crispy and so dang good! It's how fries everywhere should be! I was hoping to come back during my trip in LA, but it's okay, it won't be the last time I visit.

The crispy lace edges, the juicy center, the grilled onion, the slightly spicy sauce, the slightly sweet bun...all dreamworthy! Their sweet potato fries aren't all that great to look at, but omg, always perfectly cooked and salted! Perfectly complimented with the fry sauce. All that said, we were disappointed when we received our last order: 1. Packaging change (paper wrapped instead of cardboard box for the burgers) robbed the craveable edges of their crispness. Plus there was so much grease on the paper wraps it actually made it messier to eat than before. 2. The sauce has changed. The spice level increased (still not too spicy), but a side of sauce (which you pay more than a $1 for) is now sent in a premade branded packet. I have zero issues paying extra for a good sauce made fresh in-house, but instead of tasting like a fresh sauce made with mayo and spices, it now tastes of oil and spices and is not nearly as tasty. We noticed the difference on the burgers as well, so it seems like their sauce is all premade now and not nearly as good.

The Black Cow Cafe has been part of my life since my college years, so when I came here now, it was always filled with nostalgia and a slowed pace over a calming meal. This smallish portion on the healthier side was packed with fresh goodness and fluffy eggs. The country potatoes were plentiful, nicely seasoned, but lacked the outer crisp I liked. While the chili is tasty and the service is excellent--the cashier was genuinely dedicated to guest satisfaction, and the food comes out hot and made-to-order in 5-10 minutes--it lacks the signature experience of the real OG Original Tommy's. Not huge at all and for the price, therefore not a good value. I spent $24 for the Chilicheese bruger combo with $1 upcharge for a bottled drink. The burger itself was decent, but they are way too tight with the chili portions compared to Tommy's, and the shoestring fries don't hold the chili nearly as well as the thicker-cut fries. I also found the specific combination of pickles, onions, and mustard on a Tommy's burger to be superior. The setting is purely a walk-up window with four outdoor benches, so it lacks the atmosphere of a traditional dine-in experience. Street parking during around 2pm on weekday was no problem. Got a spot right in front of the joint. If you do stop by, definitely give the chili a moment to cool--it comes out steaming hot! It's a solid, quick meal, but it hasn't dethroned the real OG, Original Tommy's, for me.

Their Bloody Mary had just the right amount of spice and came dressed with a chili salt rim that actually added flavor instead of overpowering the drink. service was excellent, attentive, non hovering.. with a cool laid back atmosphere... Her company was a stand out as usual...

Service is the best in the area. Friendly, respectful, quick... can't say enough great things about the staff. It feels like you're on the Cheers set, if Cheers served great food. Dimly lit, and decorated like an old time tavern - wonderful experience everytime.

However that's just not fair now, is it? I love the interior. Dark, but there's one window in the front. Comfy booths. It's got the Boston bar feel. I don't know if that's a compliment for everyone, but I mean it in the best way. Established and substantial. Service is good. Clyde, the only bartender I've encountered is a pretty cool cat. Go visit him and see what I mean. The drink menu is impressive with old school tiki bar drinks highlighted. However, that Sparr Cocktail (a manhattan) rings my chimes too. I've had both lunch and dinner. Some stand outs: the crab cakes, the roast beef dip, and the sand dabs at dinner were all very satisfying. I just remembered the cobbler of pears poached in red wine! So good! I also had a filet one night and it was cooked perfectly. Check out John Sparr. You won't regret it unless you get a ticket for not curbing your tires!
