I have to say this is the best place. I have printed at other places before. At least 10 different locations and this is the best. 1. Mike the owner is amazing. Patient. Patient. Patient. And nice and helpful. 2. The paper and printing quality is superior. My work isn't that great. But when it came out I was surprised that my work just got better. 3. Fast and affordable. Delivered within a day and good price for a print like this. Things can be better: 1. If you open on the weekend that will be amazing. 2. If the set up process could be easier....but if you are very experienced with indesign and bleed settings then no worries. 3. Has some limitations on page numbers etc. But all places have that limitations. The best is: mike made everything work. I was referred by a friend who got her portfolio printed last year. Smp Digital made a difficult day beautiful. I was organizing a memorial for a friend who passed away and had a mess of photos - different sizes, different quality, in different emails. I called Smp and Mike attentively, patiently reassured me that we'd figure it all out, just to bring it all in on a thumb drive. He wasn't kidding! Mike sat with me for a long time, taking care to make a collage of images that was balanced and beautiful. When I returned to pick up the mounted collage of photos, I cried when I saw just how wonderful it looked. When my friend's mother saw the mounted photo board, she was also moved to tears at the vivid prints that were expertly mounted on a foam board. Smp is the kind of place that is run by real people, whose interest in helping their customers out is grounded in understanding and professionalism. I came in as a new customer and unfortunately with a rush job: I say, "unfortunately," because for me no way to start a relationship with a vendor is by requesting a rush job. I needed a 15" print on paper of a .jpeg which I wanted to bring to a frame shop this afternoon, so I could deliver the finished gift to my teacher on her birthday in 2 days. I'm sure my desperation showed. I'd already been to Duggal ("we can have it for you in 2 days," I was told) and Adorama ("has to be done on line and it will be shipped to you, by early next week, probably") without success. Mike waited on me and was as calm as a cucumber, telling me I could have it by closing this afternoon. When I explained that I needed it earlier in order to take it to the framer, he OFFERED to take it there for me!!! In the end, I declined, because I knew I'd need to pick out the frame myself, so he said he'd have it ready by 4, giving me plenty of time to get to the framer myself. My stress level went way down! He then helped me choose the kind of paper that would be best for a print this size because I asked him to, admitting that I know nothing about papers. He had many paper choices and I was glad for his help in selecting an appropriate one. He also suggested a white border, since he knew I was going to have it framed. (I would've never thought of the border, nor known what size the border should be.) I returned at 3:55; it was all packaged up professionally with stiff corrugated board so the breeze this afternoon wouldn't bend it. I didn't ask to see it because of my time constraints; I was pretty sure I could trust him. When I got to the frame shop, the framer took it out of the cardboard sleeve: it was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! I had an idea of what I wanted to give my brother for his wedding in May this year and it was to create a collage on canvas of our childhood pictures, but I didn't know where to go or who to turn to. I researched online, was recommended applications for do-it-yourself canvases, which I wasn't going to buy into because I definitely wanted a professional touch to this. I read reviews and visited stores and was just not happy with what I was finding. Ultimately on Yelp i found a review for SMP Digital Graphics that attested to their professionalism and attentive service and I decided to give them a call. I told Mike my story and he advised I bring some photos I wanted to apply to the canvas. I made the trek cross town on a very hot day during my lunch hour, and at the store Mike explained the process and discussed options with me. I felt very at ease that I had found the right person to do the best job. And indeed he was very attentive and also kept me posted about progress. Within the week the canvas was completed and the price was very reasonable. The level of attention and professionalism and the final product was absolutely amazing. He created the canvas exactly like I had visualized it and it was nothing short of perfection. I will be going back here again to create more canvases for myself and for gifts to loved ones :) read more
