We bought our son a Jeep at $4,500. We had issues within days of purchase. Six weeks later we…read morefind out it needs a head gasket, there's a crack in the radiator, and a few lesser issues. The car was stated by our mechanic to be trash. I called Mark who was no help at all. "The cars are sold as is." These are things he would have known when he sold us the vehicle. I'm very disappointed. From reading reviews and asking around about him; this is a regular occurrence. I am contacting lawyers and the Better Business Bureau. He cannot keep doing this to people. Also, checking into who does his inspections, because this car doesn't pass.

I bought a Dodge from Fernwood about 4 months ago, but the problems started immediately. I drove it…read more5 times if that, and realized the break pedal was very low when breaking. Turns out the guy undercoated it so it couldn't be seen that all of the axel seals in the front of the truck are bad. It needs front and back breaks, rotors, the transmission pan is leaking, the transfer case is leaking so needs to be replaced and there's STILL more. Now it's February, we paid 7k for the truck, put 4000 plus labor into it, and guess what? The motor is bad- that's another 3k plus 1k labor. Add everything up, and I could have bought a brand new truck from a dealer. The problems keep arising and I keep fixing them because of how much I've already put into it. The worst part is I could have been killed if I didn't know so much about trucks. A paint job and a push bar made the truck aesthetically pleasing- but when it comes to it running, it could have been deadly. He thought he was so clever by covering up the problems that he doesn't want or probably doesn't know how to fix. Just PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THIS CAR LOT! I should have listened to the reviews that were horrible, but again he saw the aesthetics like the new paint job, brand new push bar, and the new tires. He even half assed the tow kit. He put the bar to tow, but no electrical to hook up to tow anything. Just read the reviews. If it's too good to be true it is. Update- truck is trash. All receipts prove this was how he SOLD this truck which means he has no integrity and does not care if his junk kills people. In this condition-which would have killed me and possibly someone else; and it's not just talk- the breaks both front AND back literally just fell off into pieces when my Mechanic changed them. I know a lot about trucks myself, and he masterly hid so many problems, several which could have killed myself or my kids if I didn't know what I do. This guy put lipstick on a pig, and justice will be served- I won't stop until it is.

I never should have stopped here, I bought a little used car for way too much, and it has spent…read moremore time in the shop than on the road. They make promises and don't keep them, and always have excuses for why my car isn't done yet. But they sure do make sure I pay my bill on time!! I had such a poor experience with them that I'm taking time to try to help save other people the pain I went thru!

Griffins Auto is the LAST place you want to buy a car. They take advantage of people in a tight…read morespot who have nowhere else to go for a car. Sure, they will accept you with bad credit, as long as you have a small down payment and any income. However, their cars are in terrible shape with high mileage. Mr. Griffin will convince you that the car is in fact in great shape and will easily go past 300,000 miles. There are no prices on the cars, he decides how big of a sucker you might be before he gives you a price with outrageously high interest. Then when this car breaks down, they will happily "fix it" usually not doing anything at all or putting in a used part that will break again and charging 3 times what any other mechanic charges. The first car I purchased there needed a new engine within 6 MONTHS! I was desperate enough for a second car, and after a year, the transmission is falling apart not to mention other things. These people should be ashamed of themselves. DO NOT go to Griffins Auto. Its a scam that will cost you thousands, and by the time the car is paid off, you will have already been without that car for 2 years.

I don't understand the negative reviews so I wanted to help set the record straight. I cannot speak…read morefor sales as I have not purchased a vehicle from them, but the service and detailing departments are positively ROCKING it! Last year we bought a new car just before the pandemic shut everything down. We called around asking about getting PA registration and inspection as we had purchased it in New York. The service department at Hornbeck told us there was a waiting list due to the situation and they could put us on it. They called back much more quickly than I expected and took us in. We were treated like royalty and then I asked them to detail our car. Angel took care of it and she was spotless and perfect. A few weeks ago I received a text from the service department suggesting a "once over" of our car for the season. Since we have a sports car, we don't drive it in the winter so after pulling her out of the garage this spring, we took her back to Hornbeck (not the closest Chevy dealer to us, but definitely the best). Again, the service department was amazing, all smiles, and super happy to help in any way possible. I scheduled an in-depth detailing of the car and I cannot rave enough about how Angel and his team took care of the car! They just opened a new detailing area and I can't recommend them enough for ANY vehicle. The attention to detail and absolute babying our car received is unparalleled! It was as if they loved our car as much as us! Angel and his crew took the time to go over everything they did and even got a very large scratch out without my having brought it to their attention. They found things we never noticed and corrected them and we couldn't be happier! But don't take our word for it; take a look at the picture of the blue Corvette!

Caveat Emptor!!! Started off badly and this should have been a sign......made an appointment to see…read morea specific car. Arrived for the appointment and discovered the car I wanted to see was sold. I travelled one hour to get to the dealership but received no call to inform me the car had been sold. The GM, sitting in adjacent office, overheard the conversation going sideways and quickly suggested another car - same make and model. Turns out the car WAS nice and we bought it. It did have a check engine light on but the salesperson said the part that was needed 'was ordered'. Said it was an O2 sensor (keep that in mind). Oh, and dealership was going to tack on approximately $800 in dealer fees! Obviously, that was negotiated to a saner amount but in retrospect, I should have negotiated even more. Drove home thinking that the fix and 'detailing' the car would have been just a couple days. That was a Tuesday. I called the following Saturday. (Note that there was absolutely no call(s) from the dealership as to the status of this car undergoing repairs.) I was told the car would be ready Monday. Monday arrived and we could not make the trip that day. Tuesday (now one week later) I called the salesperson - twice - no answer and NO voicemail. I tried connecting with any other salesperson. No answer and NO voicemail. Finally, I contacted their 'award winning' Service Department. The person who answered the phone, after giving my name and the car I bought, could not find the car in the system. He sounded confused as to whether the car was even there! I thought they had sold it. Finally, he told me they were waiting on one part. I asked what part? he said a 'turn signal stalk' and once that's fixed, the car would be cleaned and inspected. I asked what was the reason for the check engine light. He said it was a purge valve. Apparently, it wasn't an O2 sensor as I was told. Note that had I made the trip Monday, that car would not have been ready! I became a bit irate over the lack of communication from the dealership and demanded better communication going forward. Ten minutes after I hung up, I receive a text from the salesperson informed me the car will be ready for pickup - THAT AFTERNOON! Now I'm no car mechanic, but I'm not sure you can replace a turn signal stalk in a matter of a half hour and have the car cleaned and ready for delivery. We pick up the car on Wednesday, eight days after the sale. We had asked for two issues to be addressed. One, eliminate the STRONG odor of cigarette smoke in the car. Salesperson said they have a chemical to do that. It wasn't done. Two, clean a minor stain on the inside of the 'A' pillar. It wasn't done. The car appeared to have been vacuumed and washed but the wheels were caked in brake dust and accumulated grime. I was so incensed about my experience, I just took the key and drove home. When I arrived home, I cleaned the inside of the windows. If I could post pictures of the nicotine that was on those paper towels, I would. It was gross. I also cleaned the wheels with wheel cleaner and they now look like new. I know it's early, but the car seems good. HOWEVER, the absolute lack of customer service, awareness, communication and let's call it like I see it - honesty - is sorely lacking. Take this review for what it's worth.
