I came in during a rush after church and the line was out the door they had one person serving everyone and like three in the back. They definitely need to hire more people. And when i got my donuts and sandwich the donut were hard and stale and the sandwich was cold and not warm at all every though i grabbed it from the hot case. I don't think I'll ever go there again and worker that was helping me seemed really rushed and stressed about the long line. read more

Nothing was fresh and we went at 6am. Donuts were dry. Apple fritter had no apples. The hot food was ice cold. If it was fresh how could it have been so cold? It didn't taste good even when heated up. McDonald's would have been better and cheaper. read more

Awesome selections of treats. Purchased some shortbread turtle cookies that were to die for. Another delicious treat is the cherry rollup they have that's coated in sugar glaze. It's like a burrito, but sweet. :-). Will be back again! read more

The person doing our cake had to cancel last min due to a family emergency so I asked this bakery if they could make the cake and thankfully they were able to. The cake was perfect! It looked amazing and it taste delicious. My sister wanted a beach/spongebob theme and we were not disappointed. read more

They really need to step up their customer service. I'm finding it harder and harder to want to make the error going out of my way stopping here when the service is almost consistently crappy. From the closing early, to.l not getting a box (who wants 6 donuts shoved in bags), to staff not knowing anything and being almost annoyed they have customers. While out grocery shopping, my husband turned to me and said, "Do you want a donut?" Magic words to my ears, as I'm ALWAYS in the mood for a good donut. Only problem - nothing at the grocery store looked tempting enough to waste an entire week of dieting and exercise for. We ran a couple more errands, but neither of us could shake the idea of a mouthwatering pastry one can only find at a small-town, mom-and-pop bakery. And if you don't agree with me, I'm not sure you've ever been to Smurawa's, Bult's Bakery in Shawano, or Linda's Town & Country Bakery in Birnamwood. But I digress. Anywho, my husband recalled the pillowy, chewy paczkis we got from Maplewood Meats, courtesy of Smurawa's. But for a craving this bad, we knew we needed to go to the source and forego the supplier. And we only had half an hour to get there. We walked in with 15 minutes to spare. The gal behind the counter (Amara) made us feel like we had all the time in the world. There weren't many paczkis in the case, but Amara informed us she had empty pastries in the back and she could fill them with just about any flavor we wanted, and it would only take 10 minutes for her to fill them. We ordered one of each of the following: Cherry, raspberry, French cream, peanut butter cream, chocolate cream, custard and cream cheese. She gave us the option of coating with powdered sugar or granulated. We chose powdered. So we bought (though all were amazing, I've listed my favorites starting from the most) a kneecap, a glazed croissant, apple fritter, Danish krispie and banana cheesecake chimichanga. And we devoured them all! Huge shoutout to Amara for being quick, witty, helpful and so sweet. I had to practically drag my husband out of there. Needless to say, we'll be back again soon! read more

What a delightful bakery to accidentally find! After all, what do you think the chances would be of discovering a Polish bakery in Pulaski? Well, it's there, and it's also a coffee shop, with lots of seating inside, and outside. And inside...the aromas, the pastries, the goodies! I think I gained five pounds just walking in the door and inhaling. (Check out the marvelous collection of whimsical cookie jars!) If we're talking about a Polish bakery, we have to talk about pączki. Usually, pączki are a Shrove Tuesday treat as lots of good stuff is supposed to get used up before Lent begins. Apparently, every day is "Fat Tuesday" at Smurawa's because pączki seem to be a regular menu item. Okay, now that we have that settled, on to the other goodies. Pastries and familiar donuts are standard fare, as are cookies of all kinds, including drop, pressed, chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and some you never heard of. (Unless you're Polish, of course.) You'll also find a wide variety of breads, such as potato bread, several kinds of rye (like marble rye for your Friday fish fry) and plain ol' white. They make spectacular pies and Kringle, too. Kringle? Who let the Danes in here? No matter, it's all good. It's beyond good. It's great! Stock up on goodies on the weekend because they're closed on Monday. Looking for a paczki? Do you know what it is? Let's get ready to polka and have some paczki's. Paczki's are a Polish jelly donut. They are prepared with richer ingredients (eggs, milk) to create a denser, richer jelly donut than the usual jelly donut. If you think you would like one or maybe a dozen paczkis, take the short drive to Pulaski, WI. There you will find Smurawa's Country Bakery, a place specializing in paczkis. The bakery was clean and service was excellent. They have a good selection of premade and fresh baked goods. The paczkis come in many flavors. They can be stuffed with apple, cherry, prune, apricot, cherry, cheese, strawberry to name just a few. Give them a try, you will love them. This place is great every day of the year EXCEPT for one, Paczki Day. This year, Paczki Day was on March 5, 2019. If you ignore my advice and go on Paczki Day, get ready for extremely long lines (maybe up to 2 hours) and crowds of people. I know because I was there. It is a real experience. Except for that, this is a fun place to go with collectibles to browse and tables to sit and enjoy some of the baked delights. Everything I tasted was good. Give it a try. Nice small community bakery in Pulaski. They are famous for their Mardi gras paczki's.

Smurawa's made donuts and paczki for our wedding instead of cake for our guests. We had just a small cake for cutting, but didn't want to go traditional when it came to what we served our guests. We taste tested many of their donuts and they were all delicious. I've never had better paczki except for the ones my Polish great grandmother made, and that's saying something! The staff were really accommodating with our request for many dozen baked goods of various types for our wedding. In total, we had 15 different types of donuts for our wedding guests and Smurawa's was willing to make whatever we wanted. We even ordered a dozen of the peanut cakes because my dad said he had never tasted better peanut cake in his life and we had to have it for the wedding. They agreed to deliver the donuts the day of our wedding for a small fee, which was a huge help the morning of the wedding. Everything was made exactly how we asked and our guests raved about the donuts/paczki. read more

Love this place for their pastries. I grew up in Pulaski so this is a local weekly visit. However, I suggest getting your Paczkis at Super Rons instead on Fat Tuesday. Because of how many the bakery makes for this day, the donuts are lower quality and the wait for them is ridiculous. Pick up a variety pack at Super Rons instead. They're softer, cheaper, and faster to get. Still though, I love this place! read more

Totally the best bakery in the State of Wisconsin. Just go there and you will find everything you need to induce a sugar induced coma and all the comfort foods you have ever craved. I usually just stop in to buy something to take home, but I've also sat in to enjoy a sweet treat and coffee. I have also ordered birthday cakes with lots of satisfaction. Thai will be a short review, because my mom is always the one who buys the donuts, but I can tell you how delicious they are. I always get the Custard filled long johns, and they are to die for. A sweet dough rolled with cream cheese baked in a cupcake form finished with a light glaze and a dollop of cream cheese frosting. Not too sweet but sweet enough to satisfy! My now wife and I engaged Smurawa's to supply our wedding reception with goodies, including a wedding cake, cupcakes, and a do-it-yourself doughnut bar. The whole "best day of your life" thing aside, the doughnut bar was my favorite item out of the whole ordeal. Not the dancing, the speeches, the people.....none of that....it was the doughnuts. Everything was delicious, but the doughnut bar really put the food and beverage options over the top for our guests. Aside from having great baked goods it was also important to my wife and I to have an easy to work with vendor, and Smurawa's is as easy as it gets. Personal touches, extra special doughnuts just for the bride/groom, 1:1 meetings, etc. The order was 100% perfect and we would do it all over again. read more

I like this place. I got donuts there about a week ago. The selection was not robust but good enough. There were several donuts that I wanted to try but my wife and kids put me on a mission to get the donuts they put on my list. There was this turtle donut that I really wanted to try, but didn't have a chance to get it. One thing I didn't like was they added too much salt to the french creme (butter cream frosting they use as filling). Usually you just add a pinch of salt to mellow out the intense sugar taste, but they over did it. read more

Smurawa's paczkis are the best I've ever tasted! Their donuts are so soft - by far the best in northeast Wisconsin. If you choose to stop in here, you will not be disappointed. It tends to be a bit busy during certain hours, however, so be prepared to wait if necessary. SO worth the wait. I will likely be using them as my wedding bakery; THAT'S how good they are. read more

Chicago used to have great Polish bakeries like Smurawa's but for the most part they're gone now. I had heard about Smurawa's Paczkis, but since I was there on Good Friday, I bought hot cross buns and a Babka among other goodies. Everything was fantastic! Too bad I can only eat so much. read more
