Blueberry limon smoothie
Ashley K.

I love this place. My daughter has a dairy intolerance so I can't have any dairy since she's breastfed. This place has so many delicious smoothies, meals, and treats to choose from. The treats are always different day to day. Everything is also made to order so it's so fresh! The workers here are also so kind. They're so helpful and always have positive attitudes which is great. Its a cute place to hang out with a friend, a date, or even your kids. I definitely recommend anyone giving it a try. Only complaint i have is parking. But it's downtown so terrible parking it to be expected from time to time.

I may have eaten before pic sorry soooo good!

Holy cow!! So tasty! I moved back to NWI from the west coast after being there 10 yrs. this place's wraps and oat milk lattes can def hang with the best of them back home :) found this place on a fluke. Beautiful sitting area, nice AC and I felt very comfortable seeing the LGBTQIA flag in the window too this made me feel so much better to return to this part of the country. I felt like I was a sore thumb here in valpo and super judged a lot of places tbh !! Not here tho I honestly dk if they realize how much offering a safe space w Whole Foods, vegan options and being ally openly means to an outsider like me playlist is awesome house music too!! I love this place! No where has felt ok here for me yet since I moved to NWI 2 weeks ago, and I'm just so grateful :) THANK YOU, may be just lunch by myself, but this experience has really touched my heart like maybe I could belong in Indiana! (OMG THEY ARE PLAYING A SONG FROM MY PLAYLIST RN!!! Yes!!!)

The food and beverage offerings are always fresh, high quality, and delicious. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The ambiance is positively granola. I love it.

Very cool space, very exciting menu. I'm super full from my thai quinoa bowl which was dynamic to the last bite.

Apple walnut salad and bean soup.

My daughter and I came to visit from California and absolutely love the midwestern version of an organic cafe and market. We got the apple walnut salad and bean soup to share. The soup was phenomenal, chips were crispy, and the salad nicely paired with a handmade dressing. Food appears to be seasonal, which is why the menus vary on website. We highly recommend fir a tasty veg friendly place. The folks running it are genuine and sweet as well!

Thai bowl plus sriracha
Estelle D.

Literally everything I ordered was delicious. And nearly all items are organic with many vegan and gluten free options. I had the golden milk iced drink, Thai bowl, and cinna bomb sooo good. If you're looking for healthier full flavored options this is the spot for you!

I love the beer here, especially if they're hazy beer. Four out of five stars for the beer. We…read moregot the happy hour pricing for the beer since it was between three and 5 o'clock. I ordered the Smashburger because the server told me it was the best burger in town. It may have been the best burger in town because I have nothing to compare it to, but it was not good. It was the special for the day. It was $15 for the burger and fries. I ordered it without onions. It came with a lot of shredded lettuce and sauce between the bottom bun and the burger. I was not a fan of the amount of sauce that came with this burger. The burger itself did not have any flavor. It looked like there was some pepper in the meat, but I could not taste anything. The brioche bun disintegrated in my mouth after each bite. My experience with a bun like this is it was either frozen or it is stale. Not sure why the bun was bad since it was their special that day. I chose poorly with a burger. Every other time I went, I got the Yakisoba noodles with short rib ribs. The noodles with the short ribs are the best in town and probably the best in Northwest Indiana.

Blockhead definitely delivered on the food and the vibes. It was busy when we arrived, but we were still able to grab a table for two on the patio. The host didn't seem too friendly, but our waitress made up for that with quick service and solid recommendations. Although this is a brewery, the cocktail menu had so many fun options to choose from, so I opted for the mango sticky rice cocktail (I forget the exact name). It was delicious! My husband ordered the Two Suns of Tatooine, which wasn't his favorite initially, but had a better taste after sitting for a while. For dinner, we tried a bit of everything! The Yuzu Butter Wings had a unique, craveable flavor, although the wings themselves were a bit fatty. The Crab Rangoon Potstickers were stuffed with real crab and just the right amount of cream cheese. If you like a classic crab rangoon, I think you'll really enjoy Blockhead's twist on it. We also split a few sushi rolls, which hit the spot! The Spicy Crunchy Tuna was my favorite, and my husband loved the Krustee Crab. Finally, we shared a bowl of the Night King ramen noodles. These were full of spice, very saucy, and topped with tasty short rib and an egg. If you're in the area and looking for a fun fusion dinner, this is the spot!

It looked like reservations are highly recommended if you're planning to dine in. The ambience was elegant, calm, and intimate, and the service was hard-working, cheerful, and accommodating. Our large group ordered a variety of drinks, and not a single person was disappointed. I can personally vouch for the espresso martini and the Fashioned in Apple; both perfectly suited my tastes. For dessert, a friend ordered the chocolate mousse while I chose the Yule Log. The presentation was gorgeous and delicate, and of course, they were delicious. Now I just need to come back to try the food. The prices might sting a bit, but I have a feeling my taste buds will convince me it's worth it.

A quick tip: definitely call ahead for a reservation. The dining area is small but cozy, offering a really intimate vibe. The cocktails were fantastic, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. The food? Outstanding. You can tell the owner knows a thing or two about authentic flavors--probably from time spent traveling and living abroad. I really appreciated how true the dishes stayed to their roots. The semi-open kitchen was also a great touch--it shows they're confident in their craft and proud of what they're serving. I'm not usually big on desserts, but wow. Honestly, they might be more known for their desserts than the entrees, but both were amazing. What really pulls it all together is the service--attentive, thoughtful, and full of personality. That's what makes this place special.

I was, admittedly, a little overwhelmed trying to pick a drink. She started a causal conversation of- what do you normally like? And we built from there! I ended up getting Voodoo, a peanut butter chocolate espresso latte and a plain bagel with cream cheese, OMG! I haven't stopped thinking about that drink. It was so smooth, just the right amount of sweet. Incredible! And the bagel was nice and crunchy on the outside and super soft in the middle. As someone who grew up a stones throw from NYC I can be a bagel snob. This was perfection. I sat there and worked for a while and at one point one of the baristas brought me over a cup of water. Said she noticed I had been working for a while and thought it might like some water. Which honestly was so touching because sometimes I get so hyper focused on what I'm doing I forgot to care for myself. That really meant a lot.
