Beautiful gym! Probably the biggest Snap Fitness I've visited in the Houston area. You still will not find a locker room or more than one restroom per gender here, BUT, I LOVE the accessibility of the Group room. Way larger than any other Snap Fitnesses I worked out at thus far. Plus, it's clean and has adequate amounts of equipment to use for stretching or doing dumbell work. They also have the medicine balls of various weights for use. You'll also find a spin bike in the room as well complete with a huge projector for use with the digital trainer if you so desire. Once more, they have tanning booths for those who need or want to show off some bronzework year round. I have to admit, I passed this place the first time I was looking for it (typical me). It's tucked away towards the corner of a shopping center that includes a Subway and Hippo Burger. Parking lot needs some work as standing water was lying in several locations. Dodging them was to prevent possibly unknown pot holes and damage to my car, but I cant blame Snap for that, just beware... Of course, you have to have your entry key to get in and once you do, you see all the beautiful equipment of the gym laid out perfectly! The cardio is on the right side with 5 treadmills and elliptical/lateral machines each. A couple of stationary bikes are also available. There are some fans facing various directions in the gym, but they weren't on high and they didn't point directly at the cardio area, so I was able to get a gratifying sweat! Towards the middle in a circle formation are the arm and chest machines. On the left wall are about 5 machines for ones legs. You have one all in one gym in the corner by the group room, which is nice because you usually need lots of space to operate it effectively. There is a bigger all in one towards the back center of the facility. Behind it, youll find cubbie holes for your belongings and a few other arm machines sprinkled around the area. Machines are new, feel new, and look new, so when you visit, please be nice and wipe, wipe, wipe! Plenty of members adher to the notices to wipe down the machines with each use by using the spray bottles and towels. However, the kitchen towels have to go! Kitchen towels have a very distinctive look, and mark my words, they are using kitchen towels to wipe down machines. They didn't have many on the shelf to use, so I just used my towel to cover surfaces that my body may touch. I know we're trying to save the environment at times and want to get away from using paper as much as possible, but in a gym where germs are ferocious, I prefer patrons use paper towels and throw their germs away versus lingering in view for someone to inhale inadvertently. Towels should be used by the manager to clean the machines and wash after cleaning. Just my two sense.... I appreciated the free wifi as well and some tv to watch as I did my cardio, but you can't change the channel. There is a sign on the wall elaborating on how they can't please everyone and their channels are limited blah blah blah. There's not much on tv anyways these days, so I'll just rock out on the free wifi and keep my mouth closed. The rest of the people can complain if they want and pay upcharges on their membership for premium channels. I really enjoyed my workout at this Snap Fitness. It even made me sad that I cancelled my membership prior to this to end by the end of the month. The drive is definetly out of the way for me, but I love this Snap Fitness location the most out of the 4 others I've been to. I'm sure to return very soon! read more
