My husband and I do not live in California however, this is our go-to gym when we are visiting family in the area. We come a few times a year and try really hard not to break routine, even while traveling. We have tried the other gyms in the area, but we have liked Snap the best. It is small, but has most everything we need. The equipment is newer and clean unlike other gyms near by. We also love the fact that it's not overly crowded so we can get in, do what we have to do, and get out. I guess it depends on what you're looking for in a gym, but this one suits us best! read more

i've had the worst experience with this gym. The manager or owner TERRY is so creepy and weird and he is so rude! He hung up on me because i had an issue and i wanted to fix it but he i guess got mad and hung up! so unprofessional and not helpful at all. I want to preface this review by saying that Snap Fitness isn't a weight lifters' gym. Those who want Gold's Gym will have better options in Gilroy than Snap Fitness. What Snap Fitness is to me is a very versatile gym open 24/7 to members. Members are respectful. The staff, led by Kerri, is interested in hearing feedback and also ideas on how to make Snap Fitness better. A few other thoughts: - Even though it's not a huge gym and can get busy, because it's open 24/7, you can definitely pick times to go when it won't be all that busy. - It's right on the corner of Santa Teresa and 1st Street with a couple of different entrances and it's an easy place to get in and out of. - They offer many training opportunities (though I haven't tried them out so I can't talk about the quality). - They are always looking for the new trends in working out and you'll see new equipment from time to time. I really like Snap Fitness and it's always there whenever I need to workout. It may not be the right gym for the heavy weigh lifters, but it is a good solution for just about everyone else. read more

Remember that apartment complex that provided you with gym use, and you walked in and while it was convenient and included in the price of your rent, it was just too small to really get the job done and/or make you want to come back? Yeah, that is what you're paying for here, folks! Also, for those of you considering to try it out with their "free trial", you have to pay a $20 deposit. And you don't get it back unless you return the cards within 48 hours of the end of your trial, regardless of you being too busy or being out of town. (which is what happened to me--what a waste if money, and where is is money really going? one would assume the pockets of the employees). Very inconsiderate considering we were willing to try out their business. Anyways, I would recommend just going on Craigslist and buying a piece of equipment or two instead of paying someone else to work out in their basement sized lot for the price they're asking here.... read more

3 1/2 This is because the manager made an effort to contact me and address my issues. There have been some positive modifications to the gym and they have a more sizeable area for the personal trainers and their clients. The manager now sits up front which makes it more personable. This gym is very small but that is how all snap fitness gyms are. It is very clean and equipment is nice and well taken care of. I went on Sunday at 3pm and had the gym to myself for over an hour before a couple people came in. Has a few TRX's and a place to stretch. Only 1 Stairmaster but a few treadmills and ellipticals. I only gave it 4 stars due to location. It is a bit off the highway and it is a bit smaller then the one in Salinas. They really need a better location. read more

Great place for a 24 hour gym!!! Staff is awesome and it is very clean most of the time. The members here are also nice and friendly. I have never felt awkward at this gym. I wish I had a pool. I miss swimming, but obviously a 24 hour place is not legally allowed to have a pool without 24 hour staff. I rarely have to wait for a machine here because at peak hours there might only be 6 or 7 people. There is enough here to get done what you need to get done.... strength, cardio, whatever... I have managed to lose 27 pounds in 5 months and have almost got down to my target weight. I enjoy working out here. I throw on my headphones and go to work. From what I see, the trainers are all very nice and helpful. I recommend getting a trainer at least to get you started. You can learn a lot of workouts and start being independent in your workouts. read more

One of the best if not the best gym I've belonged to. It meets my needs perfectly. As someone else mentioned this is not a heavy lifting gym, if that is what you want - go someplace else. If you want a clean gym with friendly staff and members that are there to get fit and are serious about it, then this is the place. Not a lot of choices in the area, so I am thankful for this facility. Otherwise I'd be surrounded by grunting, flexing, sweating d-bags at one of the larger gyms. Or I'd just stay home and get chunky. Pluses are the 24 hour access and cleanliness. Don't you hate it when you're doing mat work and you get a glimpse of the crud all over the ceiling and fans? That will never happen here because this place is spotless. The downside is the size and the fact that they have some sort of group activity/class thing during the evening. If you are unfortunate enough to show up when one of these classes is going on, prepare for a tight squeeze. read more

I have been a member since last August and so far I'm enjoying this small but well equipped gym. The gym is very clean and has plenty of cardio and weight training machines so there are lots of choices of what to do. Also the fact that only members with their personal key can get in is a plus for me, feels safer!. I've been a member of this gym for about a year now, but I just started taking advantage of the small group personal training. The classes are a great way to meet new people, get in better shape, plus get personalized advice from a professional trainer. I've learned so many new ways to work out. It has re-energized me to get to the gym more. In fact, I just realized I've been to SNAP 20 of the 30 days in April and I feel great. I joined Snap Fitness in May with my college-aged daughters. I have always worked out on a somewhat regular basis, but I wanted to step up my routine and get my girls started on a routine that they could incorporate into their busy lives. One of my daughters had a significant weight gain due to medication that she was taking, another was going away to college, and I was approaching the big 5-0. The gym is fabulous, clean, and there is always access to the equipment because the gym is never overly crowded. Accessibility 24 hours a day makes it pretty hard to come up with excuses to not work out. We signed up immediately with the most amazing personal trainer, Andrew (Drew) Jackson. I won't even discuss that he has muscles on top of muscles :) Drew is a wonderful trainer. He is personable, encouraging, motivating... and he really knows his stuff. I lost 20 pounds that I didn't know I needed to lose and I believe that I just might be in the best shape of my life. My daughter lost all of the weight she gained on her meds and is totally buff, and my youngest daughter is working out regularly while she is away at college with no worries about the "freshman 15." I look forward to my workouts at Snap Fitness and every session with Drew even though I know that he is going to literally kick my $%**!! read more

I have been or am a member of 24 hour Fitness, Bally's and several others but I enjoy Snap much more. The facilities are always available since you have a card key to get access. The gyms are clean and thoughtfully laid out and the staff are exceptional. Snap Fitness is not doing right by me. I purchased a 6 month contract for a one time fee. I was later billed for a monthly fee that was not per my contract. I addressed this unauthorized billing problem to the local Snap Fitness club and they blamed corporate for having a bad accounting system. I contact corporate and they say it is the local club's fault. Mind you a high school drop clerk at Walmart can process a credit, but Snap cant do that. I had to go to my bank and have my debit card reissued because Snap Fitness placed an unauthorized charge against my account and they did not have the integrity to do right by me, their customer. This is a huge imposition as I have other legitimate companies that had authorization to use my card such as medical billing and utilities. Snap has cost me hours of time due their careless greedy or fraudulent screw up, you chose. Does it make you wonder if the staff that makes this kind of mistake is paid a commission on over billing? Why is fixing the mistake they made such a problem? They should bill to the contract they agree to. read more
