Cinnamon rolls

Being 100% transparent this place is not great, but it's not terrible. The service was friendly! They gave us time to look at all the options being our first time. The place makes you feel like you're stepping back in time to the 1960's! Very old school vibe. Now, as for the food the most important part of this review. The food cost way too much for what you get. The only reason we visited was from all the people raving about this place, but one look at their reviews and they tell a different story. So if you're in the mood for decent food but old school vibes come visit!

We were searching for a morning coffee and nibble and Snapdragon sold me on its charm and many recommendations. The building is just impossibly cute- there are so many seats and I love the rustic mismatched collections of furniture and vintage decorations. Don't skip peeking in the back too, as they have lots of outdoor covered and uncovered seating set in a lush green backdrop, with even a playful mini log-cabin spot that both kids and adults would love. They made a good cortado and I loved their egg croissiant sandwich with salsa and side salad. The raspberry oat brick was tough as a brick though, and we all put in plenty of arm grease to cut through it with metal utensils. The eggplant sheet pizza was nice but I would have loved more eggplant to shine. Sometimes the line can be a bit disorganized but folks are well meaning and friendly. Definitely worth a visit! :)

If you like the vintage vibe, you will love this cafe. We tried their coffee cake. It was huge so just right for two people. I got their chai tea which was wonderful and awakened all my taste buds. Hubby got americano and he said it was deep and nutty

Maple Walnut roll... it was fantastic!

Snapdragon has long been on my list for restaurants to try in Vashon. On our latest trip there we determined that it was time to try some places we haven't been to before and we prioritized Snapdragon. It was a good plan for this stop to happen as the result was a very positive experience. There are primarily meatless options here. I got the Tofu Scramble while Steve got a bowl of soup. My scramble also had chunks of potato in it so gave it a good filler. They have what looked like to be an amazing bakery and we got the maple walnut roll to take home to have later. It was really fantastic and easily a guilty indulgence that I could easily succumb to often if I was close to this place. But I am like that with pastries.

The vibe in snapdragon is very hippie and eclectic. Very homey feeling. The staff were super friendly. The food fell short in my opinion. I had a Mediterranean type bowl. The tomato sauce on the dolmas was too acidic. I wished the feta was crumbled instead of a block. Everything else was okay. They claim to have gluten free options but have very limited options. Would come back again and try something different next time!

Enjoying Local eats!

This is a local Vashon Island gem! Everything from the eclectic decor to the menu all add to the unique experience you will have. Not to mention every interaction with the front of house staff was great! The gals suggested some great food choices the frittata and the focaccia pizza! They also new we weren't from the area and gave us great suggestions on local places to explore The eats! The baked egg frittata came with pickled veggies and fresh baked bread! The flavors balanced so well. The red tomato based sauce balanced out the saltiness of frittata. Then if you added the vinegar based pickled veggies to that you had a well balanced explosion of flavor. The bread was warm, fluffy, and delicious! The focaccia bread pizza had red bell pepper, jalapeño, and onion was so good! It had just a hint of spice that amped up the flavor! I think this is a local must eat! If you are on Vashon head to Snapdragon! The have pastries too!

Savory galette with cous cous arugula salad.

Another brunch masterpiece! Savory galette with potato, spinach, tomato herbs and Amy's unequaled pastry. Side of cous cous arugula salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Show stopper quality! Service is always friendly and warm with the owners frequently there. Snapdragon has expanded their back eating section with more fun funky eclectic seating.

Eggplant sandwich and slaw

This cafe has a great, unique space with a lovely patio and lots of seating for large or small groups. They had lots of vegetarian friendly options and breakfast mimosas and bloody Mary's. I got an eggplant sandwich, and the bread was thick and dry really fell apart, I had to eat it with a fork and didn't finish it. I'd like to try their baked goods but would pass on a sandwich from here.

First time at a Snapdragon. There are several locations and this one is on Vashon Island. Not disappointed at all. Two pastries-cinnamon roll and a blueberry danish. Perfect. Along with a pesto eggs. Which was exactly that, eggs served on a focaccia style bread, pesto, eggs and cheese. Accompanied with arugula and a fresh crisp coleslaw. Perfect for sharing. The chai tea had a spicy bite to it and absolutely delicious. They serve cocktails too along with beer. What a great spot. Do yourself a favor and come here! Friendly service and a fun atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating. Stay sweet people. SYOY!

Cinnamon rolls and cherry danish

Amazing cinnamon rolls - they're tasty and enough for two people to enjoy. We stop here every time we're on the island. We'd definitely recommend the place!

If you are visiting Vashon Island, this is a must stop for a delicious pastry, especially the cinnamon bun. The brown sugar butter crisp on the edges is so delicious. I'm not from Washington and was confused that drip coffee wasn't available but was easily substituted with an Americano. There is a lot of space both inside and outside and the rustic antique decor adds to the experience.

Delicious handmade savoury and sweet pastries located on California Avenue. We went back multiple times and our favourites were the cinnamon roll (must try), peach coffee cake as well as the chocolate fudge cake (which is also gluten free). The portions are massive and definitely to share. Usually very busy and pastries are sold out on Sundays so we recommend going in the mornings.

Blueberry cherry danish, chocolate donut - IG @bougiefoodieboi
Kyle W.

Right when we hopped off the ferry, we checked this place out as we were very hungry. We got a blueberry cherry danish, chocolate donut, and egg croissant sandwich to share with a friend. Prices were high but also portions were large, and overall, the place is more quantity over quality. I enjoyed the blueberry cherry danish the most as it was sweet but also fruity, while the chocolate donut was overbearingly sweet. The donut had a chewy texture which was a little bit unique. The egg croissant sandwich is 50% good - the top croissant was perfectly baked, while the bottom was way too soggy so it was a miss. The sogginess was due to them adding tomato sauce which is interesting to add for an egg sandwich. There was not that much egg in the sandwich to make it worth the $17.50 price tag. Overall, this place has good pastries but their brunch menu items may be hit or miss, but to be fair we only tried 1 item. Don't be intimidated by the lines, especially if you order pastries only as they deliver those to you very quickly. Besides, there is ample seating both indoors and outdoors that you can enjoy the meal - so this is more of a fast casual, self-service type of place.

Food was amazing! So tasty and a lot of variety of food…read more Will definitely visit again Our service was very friendly and helpful

I was traveling in a group of 6 to Renton, WA, and we stopped by Blossom Vegetarian as our first…read morestop in the Evergreen State. One member of the group is vegetarian, hence a reason why we ended up going to a vegetarian restaurant for our first meal during our trip. Blossom Vegetarian is located on the southwest corner of 3rd and Burnett. We came in three cars, and the lot immediately in front of the restaurant can only hold about a dozen cars. The adjacent lot has more spots, but all three of us were able to find spots easily when we arrived. That's likely because we had arrived a few minutes prior to opening, so the door was locked when I tried to open it. Right at 11 AM, an employee came out with a signicade to place in front of the front door. Shortly afterwards, we entered and sat at a table for 8, which I found kind of odd because they had tables of 4 and 8, but not 6. Our table had a sign advertising a limited time special, which was Hanoi Beef Fried Rice at the time*. However, we were interested in the lunch specials, which were available weekdays from 11 AM to 2 PM. Knowing that our schedule wouldn't have allowed for a lunch special any other time during our trip, we went for lunch specials, which mainly consists of rice combos. Rice combos at Blossom Cafe come with rice, either jasmine or brown, the latter of which would incur a $1 upcharge. The combo also includes an option for a juice or coffee, and if you choose either, you get $1 off. With plenty of rice combos to choose from, two of them chose the same lunch combo while the rest of us went with different lunch combos, but shared family-style with one another. I chose the Blossom Rice Combo, which consists of shredded "pork", tofu pie, "beef" skewer, and vegetables alongside a lime vinaigrette dressing. I'm not too certain of the other combos, but I do know that the Cashew Chicken was another combo, and that's because one of my groupmates heard it was their most popular dish. Since I prefer brown rice over white (jasmine) rice, I opted for the $1 upcharge for the brown rice. Between the coffee and the juice, I went with a coffee since I was needing some after a long morning of traveling. They have four choices of Vietnamese Coffee: Cheese Cafe, Cafe Latte, Dalgona Cafe, and Cafe Sua. I went with the Cafe Latte, which consists of both condensed and whole milk. The coffee drinks can come either hot or iced. For whatever reason, everybody else ordered the iced drinks, but I went with hot knowing I'd have to brave the pretty chilly weather outside. It took about 13 minutes for the kitchen to prepare our orders, and then we feasted! The coffee was ready about a minute before the main dishes arrived. Everything tasted good, but I wouldn't say great, though that's probably because I'm not vegetarian. However, rest assured that all their meats aren't real meat, and this is indicated by the use of quotation marks encompassing the meat names. You can definitely tell these meats are truly vegetarian, though it took a few bites for me to discern the vegetarianism of the "beef" skewer. The brown rice tasted kind of odd. I don't quite know how to describe it, but it was way different than the brown rice I'm used to e.g. Flame Broiler. The rice tasted pretty meh by itself, but exhibited a much more elevated flavor profile after adding the lime vinaigrette, which I'm thinking was actually a fish sauce. But that Cafe Latte was smoooooooooooth. Just what I needed after not getting enough z's the previous evening. Since I ordered mine hot, my coffee came in a mug while the others who ordered iced coffee got theirs in a wine glass. These coffees supplemented the glasses of water we were given when we placed our orders. Service, unfortunately, was quite slow, so exercise patience! We were the first customers to eat there, and there were a few others who came in after we did. We stayed there for over an hour even though I think we could have gotten in and out in much less time. They didn't really check on us even though there were very few other customers inside as well; I guess we were supposed to proactively go up to the counter to let them know when we were ready to order as well as pay. 2026 calendars were available for purchase at a cost of $20, cash only. I don't know how many people would constitute a "large" party, but we were considered one, which resulted in an 18% gratuity fee that was already added to our individual bills. One of our groupmates, who was fluent in Vietnamese, needed to let the server know prior to paying. So overall, Blossom Vegetarian is a decent spot for vegetarians; I just wouldn't recommend for a quick lunch break since service is nowhere near as quick. * My visit was back in November. I waited until January to post this review as I took a brief hiatus from posting reviews upon traveling to the Pacific Northwest.

I got the Sodo Breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, arugula, tomato and cayenne aioli (not overly spicy) with a side of cheddar grits like many reviews recommended! The grits of course were the star of the show! They came out pipping hot, very creamy with a little bit of chives on top! My husband loved them too and ended up eating half. The sandwich was also very good with the right amount of aioli and tons of fresh arugula. The bread was nice and soft and let's just say there was nothing left on my plate when I was done. I even convinced my husband to join me and order something. He was very skeptical that there was no meat, but thanks to the yelpers I knew exactly what to recommend that would meet his taste (and bonus...I really wanted to try lol). He got the fresh baked, made daily cinnamon roll! That baby came out hot, smelling amazing, and full of cream cheese icing!!! He devoured it and so did I! His vote for best item went to the grits but I tend to lean more toward the cinnamon roll! Service was surprisingly fast so if we had less time this wouldn't have been a terrible option to stop and still make our flight! The servers were also super sweet, one even offered to refill my water bottle since I was heading out. Honestly tempted to go back for lunch.... lol

From that first dish, we knew that this fresh, foraged menu was going to be something different. The rest of the night was one knockout showcase of seasonal farm to table masterpieces to the next. The entire presentation was delivered by attentive wait staff putting on what felt more like a well-rehearsed play with each act starting with a wickedly creative, hand-crafted drink pairing (non alcoholic for us, but you can get wine, cider, or a cocktail) before each course. The whole vibe isn't pretentious or bourgeois; it's grateful. Everyone there including the chefs know there isn't anything like this in the city, much less the state. It was one of the more pleasant restaurant guest audiences I've ever been around too. It felt like all the nice people in the city decided to meet, so this 5-star review is for our fellow diners too. The only thing missing was a moment for the chefs to take a bow at the end, but instead they sneaked out the door, off to wherever superfoodie heroes go after a night of saving palates. #salute.

My sister and I dropped by spontaneously for weekend brunch (à Saturday korning around 9:30). There was a bit of a cluster of people waiting for tables, but they were larger groups and we were seated after about 10 minutes. We ordered cocktails while pursuing the menu. My sister enjoys their mimosas and I was curious about the "My name is Earl... Grey". Good choice - dangerously so. Smooth, flavorful, well balanced. Only a light perfume of Earl Grey. We shared our entrees: the harissa carrot hummus tartine and the roasted potato and scallion waffle. (Side note: we indicated our intention to the server, who thoughtfully brought extra plates so we could do that). The tartine was delicious. Just the right amount of spread on a thick slice of sourdough. It wasn't spicy at all; the sweetness of the carrots tempered the heat. A light sprinkle of romanesco and little cubes of feta finished it off. The waffle was a surprise. Crispy, savory, a whisper of sweetness, topped with a dollop of scallion butter. Unique and very flavorful. The homemade biscuit was large and easily shareable. The cappuccinos had a good, rich aroma. A double shot is the standard serving and had sufficient flavor and kick. There were so many interesting things in the menu, making it difficult to decide. I'll just have to come back.
