Rustic coffee roasterie with several food and drink options! This place has such a charming and cozy atmosphere which fits perfectly on Vashon island. When you walk in, you're immediately hit with the smell of the roasted coffee beans, and you can see them roasting the beans from inside the shop. So cool! They have a wall of teas, a case of baked goods, and so much more that I probably even missed some things, like checking out the bookstore. I was feeling a bit worn from my travels so I decided on a Golden Mylk instead of opting for coffee. The Golden Mylk was a perfect blend of spices and creaminess. Very cozy, warm, and the perfect drink for a cloudy day. I also tried the Vashon Fog which was delicious. Not too sweet, and you could taste the tea over the milk, it didn't taste watered down. You have to check them out if you visit Vashon island!

This place is a most try if you like tea! Located right on the bus line it's a quick ride/drive from the ferry. They have coffee.. however the tea experience is what I got to enjoy. I went with a group of seven so we had eight pots of tea to try with a small tray of croissants, muffins, cookies, etc. They had a vegan muffin that was delicious. The shop has a small bookstore, oils, herb and spices. Honey and olive oils.

This is such a cute coffee and tea shop in a historical building. The coffee is good and what takes this to the next level are the cozy little spaces throughout to sit, relax, gather and chat with friends.

We visited Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie on a holiday Monday just before lunch. This place is absolutely charming! It feels like an old house with different rooms dedicated to different treasures--it connects to a grocery store and a bookstore, and there are corners for bulk spices and local honey. You can easily spend a lot of time here just browsing the variety of products. We ordered a savory pastry with butternut squash and onion. The flavors were delicious, especially the balsamic glaze on the squash. However, the pastry itself was a bit cold and hard rather than flaky. I think it would have been much better if we had asked to have it warmed up. The service was excellent. We ended up buying some tea from their impressive tea wall. You can smell the jars before deciding what to get. The attached bookstore is also great, with a nice collection of used books and vinyl records.

I don't think it will be a surprise to anyone that this is a great spot. We made a beeline here straight after getting off the ferry. My dad is a huge coffee junkie and this was his mandatory first stop. The only drawback to this gem is that it is so popular and seating is limited. On the flipside, the hustle and bustle makes for a great vibe, lots of happy customers, big smiles - and live music! We arrived at the right time. Stayed for quite awhile listening to the talented musicians and enjoying are quality coffee. A couple of stores are connected which you can walk to from inside. Outside is a small porch where they have a "coffee flight" (their words) that you can pour yourself (fyi free coffee if you purchase a bag of coffee). Would not only come here again, would like to just settle here permanently.

This review is more for the vibe than anything else. First time on Vashon Island and stopped to get coffee here. This cafe is not a normal cafe. The entrance greets you with their charming porch speckled with people sitting on benches and chairs, casually sipping on coffee. Inside feels like an old-timey goods store. The line to order at the counter was a bit crowded, but the cashier was friendly and after getting coffee, it was so nice to walk throughout the building and explore. The main cafe has coffee & tea items lining shelves in a rustic way, and old roasting equipment to look at. There was even a band playing music on banjos and fiddles, adding an extra boost of energy to the experience! If you walk to the right of the entrance, you'll go up the stairs and arrive at what seems like a small grocery & goods store with unique offerings. Oh and don't forget to stop at the cute little bookstore while up there. Of course I can't forget to mention the reason we went in the first place, the coffee! It may seem boring, but the only thing we ordered was drip coffee. We were handed a cup and told to go outside to the porch to fill it up. I was a bit skeptical, but that didn't last long. There was a small variety of options (maybe 3) of drip coffee in thermal containers that were clearly labeled. It was nice being able to take small portions and taste to decide which coffee we wanted to go with. They all were hot, tasted freshly brewed, and delicious, even the decaf. Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie is definitely a must-see when on the island.

    16oz berry iced tea

On my family's first trip to Vashon Island this was our first stop and we loved the charming local vibe of this coffee shop. I ordered a 16oz iced mocha and it was deliciously flavourful. I really enjoyed how well the rich chocolate flavour was incorporated into my drink. My little sister got a 16oz iced peach tea and thought it wasn't bad. There is a lot of confusion with their menu signage. On the specials menu, berry peach iced tea is listed and that's what my sister asked for, but the tea ended up being only peach black tea. According to the barista the berry and peach are different but the signage doesn't reflect that and when we ordered at the register, the woman taking our order didn't tell us that the berry and peach were two different teas. The fruit danish caught my eye and when I asked the woman at the register, she had no idea what fruit was on it. We ordered it anyway and appreciated that they were able to warm it up for us. The pastry was perfectly flaky and I loved how the tart rainier cherries paired perfectly with the deliciously creamy cheese. It was so good my family all fought over the last bite. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I just wish the empty tables weren't messy and covered in crumbs, it really harshed the cosy cafe aesthetic.

This was such a find on our trip! My wife is always looking for all natural organic wellness places, we stumbled across this shop on our troll hunting while visiting Seattle before heading to The Gorge to see Dave Matthews Band. My wife could have spent hours here, we will definitely be back next year and spend more time! Besides drinks and something to munch on I found these awesome books I had to get one!

A LOCAL'S FAVORITE. This old coffee roasting house is where Seattle's Best Coffee company started. They have since moved on, but it is now run by a local outfit that roasts and serves their own brand of coffee! The place is medium-sized, with seating available both inside and outside on the porch. They sometimes have live music, which is what brought me here today. I even got to play my harmonica on a few tunes. The staff if friendly and chatty, and it is easy to feel right at home here. The coffee is delicious, and the roasts range from light to very dark. Buy a bag of coffee beans and get a free cup of coffee. There is a wide variety of cakes, pastries, and snacks. Many locals come here for a cup of joe and a pastry to start their day. This is a great local spot to relax and strike up a conversation with a local. Next time you are on Vashon Island, I recommend stopping in for a cup, and while you're there, pick up a bag to take home. Cheers.

    Vanilla iced latte

I worked at Starbucks coffee manufacturing for 6 years. I am a sensory trained panelist and a coffee master. I have had, quite a bit of coffee. That being said, this was the best vanilla iced latte I've ever had. I stumbled into this place when I was on the island for my daughter's volleyball game. Desperately needed a cup of coffee. The staff is incredible. They told me all about the history of the building. Where they get their beans from. Things they do for the public. The whole place is just welcoming and smells incredible because they roast in house. Definitely worth the trip to go see them.

My child and I went on a lovely winter break day trip to Vashon Island recently and stopped at this local coffee roaster to journal a bit. They have tons of antique roasting apparatus here and there was so much to look at. The store meanders and is very fun to explore. They have a cute little espresso window in the main shop's corner, a health food store, and a used bookshop with very high quality offerings. We picked up a beautiful copy of Arctic Dreams and a book on Taliesen. We enjoyed our beverages and cookies in a spacious seating area that looks into a lovely street and a quite gorgeous municipal theater across the street.

So much charm! There's plenty of seating to enjoy your coffee and spend a quiet morning or afternoon. I love that you can see the roasting machinery right inside. They have a charming selection of other goods too near the register. My fiancé and I enjoyed our visit. The coffee was great, service was lovely. This was a perfect spot to end our weekend staycation before heading back on the ferry.

An amazing atmosphere on the island. With one of the most complete and diverse tea selections I have seen.

Amazing coffee! We love the Front Porch French roast! We have it shipped, because we have never found a better roast.
