The menu is pretty simple -- choose your toastie (they have a handful of curated options), pick half or full sandwich, choose your bread, choose your side (chips, pickle, or bread), and then add a cup or a bowl of soup. All the options sounded delicious but I'm a savory person, always, so i got the Mama Mia, which has two kinds of cheese, pesto, and tomato. I went with the recommended Italian bread, and I added a cup of the tomato bisque, which is self-serve. They also had chicken pot pie and minestrone. My sandwich was done quickly and looked delicious -- super cheesy and perfectly toasted (aka it didn't destroy the roof of my mouth). The pesto and tomato were great additions, and dunking it in the soup was so fun and tasty. I loved this lunch so much and I wish they would open a location in Grand Rapids! I haven't been to any of the seafood boil restaurants in town yet but I think Da Boils' prices are pretty similar. The Low Tide was $34.99 and they dropped it in fresh after I ordered. It took about 10-15 minutes but it was worth the wait. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and easy to peel, and the seasoning was definitely on point and I loved the flavor. I didn't think it was too super salty and the medium level spice wasn't really spicy, I might go up a level next time. The crab was easy to get out of the shell. It's definitely messy and you don't get the bibs or gloves you might get at a sit down spot, but I didn't really care. You just have to go with it and know you'll be messy! I loved this boil and would definitely order from Da Boils again. I've seen them post other items like lobster mac and cheese, which I'd love to try. I use honey in some of my baking recipes and was completely out so I decided to see if there were any local beekeepers in my area. This place was only a few minutes away! If you can, I'd highly recommend buying honey from a local beekeeper. It absolutely makes a difference in taste (maybe not so noticeable in these chai sugar cookies I made but it's the thought that counts). They also sell candles and chapstick in a variety of flavors. The owner incredibly kind when I picked up my order (no shipping cost on pickups is a big plus). Check them out!

I've purchased regular many jars of regular honey, hot honey, several of their lip balms using beeswax, and dog palm balms for when it gets really cold up here in Alaska.
