I predict they'll be closing their doors in less than 12 months. They've gotten much worse recently.

The best thing about this Olympia is they sell nice miniature basketballs for $5 a piece. Everything at Olympia is overpriced and the employees here are very rude. I was shopping for a new hat and I forgot my wallet in the car. So I left and when I came back in the store the employee got in my face and said "Do you have a problem". I couldn't believe it and I left. I have not been back since and I probably never will. Overall, Olympia is not good and I suggest going to Dick's or even Target instead.

They suggested for the price it would cost to make it perfect, given the year of the board (2017), I'd be better off getting a new board and pocketing the difference. I appreciated how up front they were and headed their advice! I'll be running the board through it's final paces this season and getting a new one come spring. Even beyond repairs, this shop has it all. From kayaks to climbing gear, skis to paddle boards, they've got everything you need to enjoy the outdoors for all four seasons.

She spent a considerable amount of time using their equipment to analyze my wife's walking technology. She then spent considerable time asking my wife what she was looking for in a sneakers- in terms of fit and function. Tyler then brought out quite a few pair of different brands of sneakers. She and my wife analyzed each pair in terms of comfort and features. One thing that I found quite impressive was that Tyler had the discussion with my wife vs looking at me even though we were sitting together. Many other sales people in other stores tended to direct the conversation to me even though it was abundantly clear my wife was the customer. Tyler was extremely knowledgeable and personable and patient. She wanted to be sure all questions were addressed appropriately and in the end my wife did choose one of the pair Tyler recommended. This was a wonderful shopping experience and we would not hesitate to return to the Colonie store for future needs. Ask for Tyler if you go and we are sure you will also be impressed.

It had been ten years since I was last here, choosing more recently to shop for sneakers at the outlets instead. But I was not happy with the last pair I purchased at an outlet and desired to shop this time where I could rely upon an employee to search, instead of me, through the store's stock for what I was looking for. Vivian did just that. I explained what I was looking for, and described what features I wanted to avoid. She then retrieved from their stock several pairs that met all my criteria. After trying out all of them by walking throughout the store, I made my choice. But I wasn't finished yet. She had responded to an earlier question regarding arch support that none of the brands of sneakers the store carried had arch support. I therefore said I was interested in purchasing a separate pair of insoles that would be appropriate for my feet. She brought me to a 3D foot-scanning machine that showed the shape of my arches. Based upon that information she had me sample several different insoles that would address my needs. Once I made my choice she custom cut the appropriate pair of insoles and inserted them into the new sneakers I was buying. I got to also retain the insoles originally provided by the manufacturer. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Ten days have now passed and I'm quite satisfied with the feel and fit of my new sneakers.

Somehow, the store doesn't think it necessary to distinguish between mens and womens apparel. Many womens athletic clothes don't use numeric sizes anymore, using S, M, L. It can be difficult to recognize that one rack has mens and the next one womens This morning I went there to get some shirts and a fall jacket. My shopping was interrupted by a saleswoman who asked me if I was looking for mens clothes. This after I had been in the store for a good ten minutes, mistaking some racks for mens and vice versa. I said I was. She then proceeded to try to explain where the mens clothes were. I didn't quite understand her and needed clarification, what racks are for men? For some reason, she took umbrage at my confusion and replied dismissively about one side of the store being for men. I asked if it included the wall racks. She said the right side of the store was for men, giving me the impression that helping me was low on her priority list. When I said, of course, all stores are men on the right and women on the left, another saleswoman chimed in with an "I beg your pardon." So I repeated myself. I had two shirts worth $200 in my hands and had come in prepared to spend at leadt that much, but after the attitude and treatment I received, I decided to buy what I had and leave. At the counter the saleswoman folded my shirts and then just stuffed them in the bag. I've been shopping here for nearly twenty years. Never again and I will tell everyone who will listen to me about this experience. Shabbiest treatment I've gotten from retail in decades.

The only…read morereason I am rating it a mediocre two start rating is because they did have some awesome sales going on in there, so I did pick up a few cool items for a great price, and the employees/sales representatives in here were cool/helpful as well. But, I wouldn't really recommend going to the this particular Dick's location if you are expecting to see a massive sporting goods store - it truly is the smallest Dick's store with the most limited inventory I have ever seen (which may work for this specific smaller town geographic area), so if you are looking for your basic/standard sporting good items they will probably have them here... but if you want something specific/somewhat rare you will need to go to one of the larger Dick's locations.
