We've had to take our dogs here twice for eating things they aren't supposed to. They are beagles so it's a battle. Once it was chocolate. They induced vomiting, and we went home. It didn't take long. The second appointment was rough. My dog ate a bottle of my medication. He was having very scary symptoms, but they triaged him to a lower level when another dog came in with seizures. We were there around 6-8 hours, and they ended up keeping our pup overnight for observation and to give iv rx. It was really hard to be in the exam room for so long when given no information and worrying if our dog was going to die. I eventually assumed, well I guess he's going to live, if they are letting us sit around in the room this long without seeing the doctor. In the end, they have taken great care of our dogs and have to triage based on the volume and lack of any other hospital nearby. The price they quoted actually ended up being less than expected, and they refunded us money back. It's clear they care about people and pets.

It was almost like they didn't want to "tip" their hand and admit they were busy. I just wanted to estimate how long I'd be out of the house to ensure we had childcare long enough for me to take my dog in. With that said, the doctor said he wanted to examine my dog "in the back" without me." I requested he not do that so I could ask and ask questions as they came up during the exam. He recommended an elective surgery to insert drains into my dog's neck to be able to drain the pus and blood in case it got infected. Please note, it would have been completely elective and was a $1500 suggestion for no medical reason. The doctor had a "used car salesman" aura about him. I asked for antibiotics to fight a potential infection and declined the optional surgery. My dog made a full recover after us giving him the prescribed antibiotics. Beware of them upselling here and preying on your emotional fragility as your dogs is there for an emergency .

Parkway saw my 2yo kitty, Bootsie, in 2025 when she was licking her fur off. After an exam & meds, I found out it was an allergic reaction to what I used to sprinkle on carpet. Parkway was visited in 2018 when we had to make the most difficult decision to put our 11/12yo kitty, Nala, to sleep. She'd been on arthritis meds for about a year, due to hip dysplaysia, & thyroid meds for a few months. We believe she'd had a stroke & gone blind. Her coat was different. She was bumping into walls & furniture & various other symptoms. Recently, in 2026, another visit occured when I had to put my late husband's cat, the most loving cat, our Miggy-boy down. He'd lost weight very quickly, quit eating, was vomiting when he would eat his lickable treat, was listless & hiding a lot. This was most difficult for me because losing him was like losing another piece of my hubby. When my hubby was in the hopital he would video call just to tell Miggy that, "Daddy loves you." For his 11.5yrs with us, Miggy would crawl up on my chest and bump my chin to give him kisses on his head. Oh, how Miggy loved kisses! Parkway was nothing but compassionate in both instances of putting our beloved cats down! The med tech's & Doctor's were empathetic, full of tenderness, & sympathy. They allowed as much time as we needed to say good-bye through tears & sobs. We chose to take our fur babies home afterward and they supplied us with a large box so, we didn't have the discomfort of holding them after they'd passed. There's a special room at Parkway to proceed with the inevitable. They have a jar of chocolate kisses with a sign that says something like, "No dog should not ever taste the joy of chocolate." They offer group cremation, single cremation, urns & clay paw prints. At the last minute, I decided I wanted Miggy's paw print and they explained they'd have to take him to Troy and I'd have to come back the next day to get him. I couldn't mentally handle that so, they gave me inked paw prints I could frame. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic for your pets!! And, if you need to have that fateful appointment, I'd recommend them even more.

The manager did say that because I was unhappy with their protocol (leaving your animal in the cold vestibule) and not allowed to bring her in.; she decided I would not be satisfied with the service they would provide. (My cat has separation anxiety and I just asked if I could bring her into the room, and then leave to go back to my car and wait till she was done with her treatment. We gave her those pills like they told us to. One with every meal. And once we stopped the real problems began. We can't get her to stop licking her privates and she has completely licked the skin off that area. If she DID have a yeast infection then somehow after this visit it got 10x worse. I had tried to keep things cheap because I'm 18 and was doing this so my mom didn't have to. But they kept telling me "you're paying for the check up, but do you want the exam?" "You're paying for the exam, but do you want the results?" "you're paying for the results, but do you want the treatment?" These people are a bunch of scammers. And it's either a coincidence or the pills made her worse and I don't know how to fix it. The only helpful thing they did was hold back some woman's crazy German shepherd from trying to attack my dog.
