I take my 15 year old dog, Bailey, to Moore Vet and we see Dr. D (can't spell her name). She is very caring and thorough in her check of Bailey's health. Bailey gets a shot once a month with the techs and then every 4 to 6 months, blood work and testing of her urine is done. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is so caring about Bailey's pain and limitations. No one tries to sell me more in the way of meds or procedures. Bailey's health comes first. The staff here is a 10/10 with answering questions and helping with paperwork for the city that is required for the dogs during the move. No answer to my message left with reception even though it's noted in my records I requested, no call back to my voicemail, no answers to my email..... Thankful for the animal hospital that is saving my cats life. I had the pleasure of going to my pup's new vet Dr. Susan Burcham today. From the front desk, to the vet techs to Dr. Burcham it could not have went better. I could tell that my pup was so very comfortable at this vet when he is usually very shy. Dr. Burcham was very thorough and had some insight on how to help my pup with his many allergies. I have been going to Moore Vet for over 20 years, since then, Dr. Nurse has retired. The business has gone down hill. Long wait time, phones busy, can't get in soon enough for emergencies. I recently took my dog in because she wasn't limping (it took a week to get in), when she got in, the doctor said there was nothing wrong, gave her pain meds and said reschedule for X-rays. In the mean time, she started vomiting her food, continued limping and her breathing was rapid. They refused to take her in and said call emergency!? Why would I call emergency when they are my vet? Long story short, we lost our baby due to an enlarged heart with a mass growing. She couldn't breathe. Shame on Moore Vet! They need to change the name on the sign, they do not deliver the compassion and empathy that Dr. Nurse did. read more

These people are truly wonderful. We took my 11 yr old dog Wendy to help her cross over the rainbow bridge after her cancer had taken a turn for the worst. Two days ago I had to say goodbye to my beloved 17 year old cat. I've taken both my cat and dog here for two years and sometimes have been on the fence about whether I've been satisfied with their care. It wasn't the quality of care given but my interactions with the staff. That all changed and I can't thank the staff enough. Everybody was so kind and helpful during one of the most painful moments in my life. I really felt that Dr. Nurse and his staff took the time to explain my options and what was going to happen. I have been taking my dog there for years, I let my dog out this morning and he fell over and his head would not stop shaking back and forth. Called vet as soon as they opened and they said that I should take him to emergency vet, I told them could not afford that visit, and they said sorry we have no appointments available. We have been going here for a few years now. Typically, it was always a great experience. Until recently.......We brought one of our dogs in and were misdiagnosed. We ended up having an emergency vet come to the house and then ended up at a neurologist. Moore was getting copies of medical records and not once called to check on our dog. I called Dr. Nurse to get another neurologists name for a second opinion and he was less than compassionate. I am still in shock. We are now 8 weeks deep into a UTI and bladder infection that was missed and diagnosed as hip dysplasia. They should be covering my thousands of dollars in vet bills that I have had over the last 8 weeks. It never should have gotten this far. read more

with everything going on right now i didn't want to go in anywhere public for the next 30 days and this morning my dog woke up with a swollen shut ear. so i called them and heard that i can stay in my car and they will retrieve my pet from my vehicle, and let me know what's going on from my vehicle i was willing to go. they made it so easy and comfortable for me. the vet herself came out to my car to explain my pups ear situation. i cannot thank them enough for going to work and making sure our pets are healthy too. My parents went to Moore for our family dog and when I adopted a dog, I decided to do the same. We used to be frequently visitors when we were treating our rescue dog for mange and the staff always made us feel welcome. Even though there are plenty of closer places I could go to, I still chose to bring my pup to Moore because I trust the care she gets there. read more

I have been taking my dog here for 4 years now and Dr. Nurse yes.... Dr. Nurse is great. The staff is very friendly helpful and accommodating. They are a little bit more on the expensive side but you know you are getting trusted good care for your pet. They also offer microchipping for $40 which is well worth the investment. read more

Horrendous!!!! I was new to Saint Clair Shores so I tried them out, big mistake! My dog had a significant history of severe health issues and came with a very very long file. I brought her there for a health issue right at the beginning of COVID (may 2020)and the vet that saw her told me she was going to die very soon due to three reasons. If she had read my dog's file she would have known that all the reasons she stated were ruled out by her highly competent allergy specialist and previous vet. The vet had no idea what medication she was on. When a dog comes with an over 60 page file and multiple alerts on her file how do you not at the very least skim her file to identify what medications she's on. My dog had very unique health issues that required a very competent vet, Moore Veterinarian Clinic does not have vets that can treat animals with significant health issues. If you are looking for a very basic vet Moore will work. If your dog has any health concerns I would never recommend going there. I spent hundreds of dollars on unnecessary vet visits and recommended treatments (ie braces for my dog's leg and additional supplements). Those comments were regarding my pet's treatment and don't begin to reflect the emotional stress and anxiety I had from going there. I called my pet's specialist and I got referral to a vet that could actually treat my dog, and was certainly not Moore. I will never recommend them to anyone. While I know my dog had very unique health issues there is no excuse for not reading the first page of a 60+ page file. As a vet you should always, at the bare minimum, know what medication the pet your treating is on. Also, a vet should not tell an owner their dog is going to die when they haven't even read the pet's record. It's just irresponsible. So from my experience Moore Veterinary Clinic = Inexperience, incompetence, over charging, incorrect diagnosis, and anxiety provoking experience. I wanted to call and ask for my money back based on my experience, but honestly, my focus was on my dog during her last year of life. My dog that according to their vet was going to die immediately, passed away recently, from cancer, not any of the health issues their vets identified. That all being said, after I was told my dog was going to die immediately and I needed to talk to a specialist, no one from Moore called to check up on my dog. EVER. How can you tell a pet owner their beloved pet is going to die and then NEVER check up on they animals progress?!?!?!? If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

We have been coming here for about 6 years. They have seen 3 of our dogs and our cat. We see Dr. Burkholder and absolutely love her. She listens to everything we say, answers all of our questions and gives us trustworthy advice. The rest of the staff is great too and very accommodating. My animals are cared for as well as I am at my doctor's office. Pet care is very expensive and I never feel pressured to buy more treatments or meds than I can afford. My animals are happy and healthy thanks to this place. I will never go anywhere else. read more

Dr. Nurse has done reconstructive surgery on a completely shattered leg on our yellow lab and she lived for many years with the reconstructed leg. The entire team at Moore Veterinary is amazing. We took our dog to the vet for a routine shoots and they did ex-rays of her hips. My dog died on the way home from the vet. Then this vet will not refound any or part of the money we paid them. This is not right. Further the doctor has no idea what happened and is not taking any responsibility for why she passed. read more

Id give no stars if optional. They are a total rip off. After telling me to take my dog in, they charge me 55 bucks and say we cant treat till Monday, Monday comes they charge me out rages prices for pain medicine and anesthesia to clean out a anal duct. I paid 300 total from this visit. No incisions, no stitches, just cleaning a gland! I read my dogs file before meeting with the doctor, after complaining he stone walled explained they didn't charge me a visit fee since I paid 55 on Saturday, yet they charged me 45 for a partial hospital visit ( that is the same as a visit fee!) they charged me more money to gas my 24lb dog then my dentist does to gas me ! Then after complain and requesting records the doctor went back and added to his chart that he is aggressive and needs a muzzle and that I complained ( passive aggressive much sir? ) Oddly his nurse carried him out to me, so I guess he really is mean! his record states he should have meds and lotion and I had to ask for them 3 separate times and ask two separate times for my dogs complete records. So if you want an ethical practice that will care for your dog, not rip you off and use manipulative if not downright unethical and illegal business practices then please seek a better vet. My regular vet reviewed the record and said it should have been a max 150!. Many other vets in the area who are more ethical and transparent then this one. Please look around before subjecting your loved animal to their money pit. read more
