Kevin is back!!!! Been with Snip & Clip for a very long time. All of my furry kids have been coming through these doors since the 90's! So grateful that Kevin will be slowly opening back up after taking time off. At this time Kevin is only able to groom small dogs 10lbs and under at the moment. That is subject to change. Not sure if the shop will be open on Saturday's. My boys are so used to Kevin, I refuse to try anywhere else. Kevin takes his time, and it took my orange Pomeranian 10 years to behave at the groomers. Now he's 15 with no teeth, except for his back teeth, can't bite at the groomer or Vet any more. Based on the reviews and over the phone discussion with the owner, It seemed promising to take my dog there for grooming. But upon picking him up I realized that was not the case. My dog has anxiety and I made that clear to the owner. before dropping him off. to prepare, I gave my dog his anxiety pills and he yes he was slightly nervous. I was surprised that a grooming that usually takes three hours for other groomers this time only took an hour and a half. I arrived at the time i was told to arrive, and when I opened the door, my dogs eyes were incredibly red and as I was paying to leave the groomer -- not kevin -- decided to take the clippers and start shaving underneath his chin while I was holding him which should've been my first indication that something went wrong. When I got home I inspected my dog as I usually do and found that he had razor burns on his inner thighs, cuts to his face, a matted tail and a coat that is completely uneven. Needless to say I am completely disappointed with this place. I can deal with a bad haircut, but as a pet parent, the neglect and carelessness in which my dog was treated, is not something that I can get over, hence why I write this review. All i can say is if you even have a shadow of a doubt, DONT! My youngest dog is very neurotic and barely allows me to give him a thorough bath let alone trim his hair. I called Kevin and he assured me that I would not have to give my dog any calming pills just bring him in and he would take his time and take care of him. And he did just that! he was so honest about the whole process and when I got there to pick up the dog he was perfectly groomed along with my other dog. He groomed the youngest one just enough to make it neat and have the dog feel comfortable. Both of their nails were filed perfectly. The Owner, Kevin is a wonderful person on top of being one of THE BEST Dog Groomers I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I have worked at 3 different groomers myself and I have never seen dogs come out of a groomer so stress free and absolutely beautiful! I have 2 Huskies with an undercoat that seems to come in every 2 weeks! I have a cockapoo with more poodly hair I have been bringing my dog here for 3 years and my sister has been binging hers for 6 years. I get super creative. I even ask him to do some fun cuts as well. Such as: lion haircuts, poodle haircuts, and just a regular haircut. Kevin nails it 100% everytime. So if you have a schnauzer or a poodle Kevin can deffinitley take care of you. He even does color dye The best part is when I brought my dog to the pets smart in Secaucus they charged us an extra $10 because they said my dog was challenging. Ever since then I brought him to Kevin and I ask him every time if he was difficult in anyway and he says "absolutely not" People often just bring their dog and ask for a summer cut or a trim and aren't specific and may get it too short. Our neighbor recommended Snip 'N Clip after our dog got sprayed by a skunk this past winter and they were great! They took her in that day and almost completely got rid of the smell! The last time she was sprayed, we brought her to Walmart about three times and they could not get rid of the smell, so this was great! ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! First time we brought our dog here, it was a great experience, he looked so fresh and clean, they were efficient, loving to our big guy and so reasonably priced. However for about 2 weeks our dog was was scratching like CRAZY!!! It must of been their shampoo, which is odd because they use Hypoallergenic but maybe it just reacted badly with him! We out sourced our own shampoo to give it a try, they were totally accommodating and BAM a beautifully shiny dog with no scratching! I googled "dog grooming for difficult dogs ni" and Snip and Clip was one of the first few to come up. My Bichon-Poodle had been to a groomer 2 times before and the groomer was not able to cut her and suggested I sedate her. I called snip and clip and Kevin was totally against me sedating my dog and told me it wasn't necessary. Let me say this man is the dog whisperer! My dog was done in an hour and a half (she'd been kept 6 hours at the previous groomer!) and she looked adorable. There were no behavior complaints, my dog was fine. She was not stressed at all after either. Prices are very reasonable and he doesn't crate the dogs!! read more

I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews! Snip'n Clip was our go-to groomer for over 3 years, but now that we're on the West coast it's hard to find such a good replacement. I had lost all hope of having my dog groomed. My little guy is very anxious and absolutely hates grooming. With a previous groomer I was called to pick him after about 10 minutes. They said they could not even get him on the table. I am so thankful to have found Kevin! He did such a great job and he was so good to my dog. The last (and final time) I was ther Kevin cut my dog in 2 separate places. He never told me & I found out the following day when my dog refused to walk. Kevin has been grooming my dogs for almost 30 years!! He takes his time even with the most difficult "clients". My puppy was not a fan of having her face trimmed AT ALL (another groomer I used while he was out actually had me come back to hold her down!), but on her first visit to Kevin, she sat there almost falling asleep while he trimmed around her eyes. read more

Today was the first time I used Kevin to groom my dog. My dog's past groomer would not take my dog unless he was sedated because they couldn't handle him. I was recommended to Kevin by one of my friends who has a dog who is hard to groom as well. My dog was stress free and had his haircut without any issues! Love this place!!!! My dog was " very bad" at other groomers supposedly... Walked in on one and she had a muzzle on my dog and was very traumatized.
