I was in Ptown for the weekend and had recently gotten a haircut at home that I wasn't really all that happy with. It's was really starting to get to me so when I walked by and saw the "walk in's welcome" sign I thought maybe I should just bite the bullet and go for it. Looked on yelp and saw the good reviews and went for it. It was Sunday afternoon but the lady at the desk said she had some time and could fit me in right then (I didn't catch her name, but she had really awesome hair so I was feeling optimistic). She listened to what I didn't like about the current cut and looked at some pictures of what I had in mind. And then did a really excellent job. And to top it off when I went to pay it was only $45! I was totally excepting a lot more... Would definitely go back here if I'm ever in the area again!! read more

My daughter Kat has very long curly hair and wanted a soft up-do with no frizz. Definitely not an easy task...lots of hair & lots of wedding jitters. Billy Jean worked her magic. Last year, I got my hair cut at a different salon in P-town. They gave me a fashion mullet, and I spent the next 6 months growing it out and getting it reshaped to no small cost to myself. I lived in Provincetown this past summer and had 3 haircuts with Lawrence. 4-5 months later, not having touched the top of my hair, I am still very pleased with how everything has grown in. I had been with the same hair dresser for twenty years, and always got a great, but predictable cut. On a whim and on a friends recommendation I made an appt. with Lawrence. He knew exactly what I was trying to describe, and took it up a notch. The cut was flawless. Even days later- out of the shower, no product or blow dryer, and it still looks great. I was never able to duplicate the look right out of the salon, but Lawrence gave me a tutorial as he worked, and the next day- I could reproduce the look. A first for me. The sign of a great cut. So I have gone to Provincetown plenty of times because my uncles own a place down here but I have never gotten my hair cut in town. I just moved to Boston from California last year and the one haircut I've had was when I went home during Christmastime to visit my family. I figured it was about time I found a hairdresser here and so I decided to stop into Snip. I had passed it plenty of times and when researching it online, found good reviews like the one I'm about to give it:) Lawrence listened to what I wanted and before even going to wash my hair, he actually had me stand and examine the length and go through all the details of what I wanted from hair texture to my maintenance of it. Usually, hairdressers wash your hair then ask what you want once you're seated. He did a wonderful job and the price was great. So much cheaper than doing it in the city. And now I have a new salon I can go to instead of one 3000 miles away in California! read more

While vacationing in Truro, I decided that I really needed a haircut. After reading such outstanding reviews about Snip on Yelp, I called and due to a cancellation was able to get a haircut appointment for that day with Lawrence. I really wanted a change and something more flattering. Lawrence was extremely professional, listened to my hair needs and was very creative in suggesting a haircut during our consultation. I trusted him completely and the final result was the probably one of the best, most flattering haircuts I have ever gotten, including from some NY Salons. My husband loved it and it is so easy to care for. The shop is small, friendly and inviting. The banter among the stylists was fun and the shop was immaculate. I can't say enough good things about this salon. The biggest problem is that the shop is 6 hours from home so will not be convenient for more haircuts. read more

I arrived at Snip sans appointment with hair that looked like discolored hay that had been sitting in the rain too long. Then I met Gerald. He SAVED my hair. He did corrective coloring that left my hair shining, soft, and gorgeous with a cut that completely complimented me. The treatments he did made it so that 2 months later the color is still vibrant and beautiful. Though I live in Boston, I was on the Cape and drove an extra 45 minutes just to get my hair done here again. Lawrence said he would choose the hair stylist for me and that they are all professional masters with hair. He took a photo of my hair to use to consult with Justine...(Who else does that?) Before my appointment, Justine came outside where I waited, and sat next to me to look at my hair and figure out low lights. (Who knew I should try pastels?) Justine suggested pastels, explained how they worked, showed me her selected palate to choose from. Then she chose the hair style and cut, perfect for my hair and me. Snip is the place that reflects the warmth and culture of Neighborhood Provincetown, as they offer you a mighty experience with your current hair style options. I thought I wouldn't be hip and current enough for this "in" kind of establishment. But everybody is comfortable at Snip. Get an appointment with Snip and see what happens. read more

Best men's haircut in years! I needed to get my hair cut and decided to do it spur of the moment while on vacation here. I called over in the morning and they were able to schedule me with Gerald very quickly. He gave me a much better haircut than my normal stylist back in NYC. OK, I think it's hard to go wrong with any of the stylists. I've had my hair cut by Lawrence (the owner), Danny, and Billie Jean, and they've all done a great job, but what's even better is the camaraderie of the people who work there. There's no jealously when you want to try someone else, and they're all supportive of each other. I've been to other salons before and have felt like I didn't want to leave because I knew I'd be torn apart after I walked out the door, but Snip is a very professional place with a great vibe. Lawrence has magic hands and scissors when it comes to cutting hair in my opinion! He also has a great eye and mind for what will look good on a person! I have struggled to find a fitting hair style for my thin difficult hair - but 3 hours after sitting in Lawrence's chair - I found my best hairstyle yet! I have never gotten so MANY compliments on my hair as I did since I left his salon! It can be pretty scary to just walk into a place and say - do whatever you want....and feel at ease with the person you leave in control of your hair! Just saw Lawrence today and he gave me a sweet haircut! I love it. I had long thick hair and wanted it to look layered and kind of edgy. I told him I wanted a rock n' roll haircut and NOT a "Friends" haircut. He gave me exactly what I wanted! Kept my length and shagged it out on top. I was a total mess. Growing out after a short cut, it was a big block of hair in back, and "wings" of hair below my ears on teh sides. All i could do was pput my hair up in a "messy" ponytail. After crying one afternoon, i made an appt with Billy-Jean. She gave me a fabulous cut, not removing much length so I can grow it longer, but styling it perfectly. She also gave me copper highlights that look so cool! Then she "changed my life" by shaping my eyebrows - they were hideous having been done by a salon in Centerville (by the post office) two weeks earlier. I popped it and mistakenly booked a massage at this salon while on vacay here thinking the salon and massage place were one in the same. I returned the next day to go to the massage appointment, but no one was there. The gentlemen let me sit in the salon and all the staff were very accommodating. While waiting I was listening to the owner, Lawerence with this client. Not only did the client get a stunning haircut and style, but Lawrence also was giving his client a tutorial on how to style his hair and how to use what products to get a desired effect as well as what products not to use on his type of hair. I wished I had not had my haircut before I left home as I would have loved to have sat in his chair. I was super hair chair jealous. The massage place never opened and Lawerence jumped into action and got me schedule within the hour with Micheal Perry just up the street. It was THE BEST massage I've had in my life. If you want the best hair cut and style EVER, Lawrence Moran at Snip is the one you want! I have long, very thick hair and many stylists have struggled to give it style over the years. Lawerence was able to expertly update the look, thin it out without losing the body and recommend a great product so I could replicate the look at home. Plus, he is funny, genuine and an interesting man. I live in Florida, but when I fly to New England every 6 weeks to visit my girlfriend, we now schedule an appointment to get my hair cut in P-Town at Snip! I wish Snip was close to home b/c I would be a regular. I cannot say enough great things about Snip and the wonderful team they have there. I recently had my wedding on the Cape, and the team did an amazing job with my bridesmaids hair, my mother, flower girl, and myself. Ron created such an amazing hair style for my wedding, he really listened and was able to incorporate bits of looks to create a real masterpiece, there is not one thing I would have changed. The team at Snip did a wonderful job working w/ each other to pull the whole wedding party together, and handled the last min. addition of my 2yr old to the list. I really appreciate how much Lawrence and the team worked together to create such a beautiful look for her hair. The team is extremely welcoming, charming, and they maintain that special Provincetown vibe within the salon. you guys, this place is a gem! aside from the cozy, neighborhood-ish vibe which i loved, the stylists really know their sh*t. justine chopped my hair from long-ish to short-short and i'm loving the outcome. she's also super smart about hair and did a great job responding to my questions. and her scissor/razor skills, ohmygod! as a native cape codder, it's kind of amazing to have such city-caliber haircare here. if you haven't been to this place, take a chance on it. read more
