We recently bought a house and had it rekeyed today. Kevin is awesome and is a genuinely good person. He was willing to drive all the way down to Kirkland to do the job. He does excellent work and went above and beyond. In addition to replacing all the locks and making us new keys, he made a key for the shed in the backyard, he fixed a couple of the locks so they would work better, and he replaced one of the knobs with some extra hardware I had. The price is super reasonable, and Kevin is not the type to "nickel and dime" each little thing he does. He is also very responsive over text and is a pleasure to work with. Review this guy's BBB ratings and complaints prior to contacting him. I wish that I would have done so prior to calling him. This guy is unprofessional from beginning to end. I scheduled a time and place to have a key I ordered delivered he proceeded to arrive an hour after Dicks Towing closes. He then arrived with the key that he ordered that he could not program so he started he had to drive home to drop off his wife and get another programming board. While waiting I found one of the original spare keys that came with the vehicle. One hour and a half later he returns but does not return with the key I ordered. He just reprogrammed the original spare key. Despite numerous attempts to meet up and have the key I ordered given to me, he has been evasive or non-responsive to calls and texts. Unlicensed, Unprofessional, Unaccountable & Unskilled To begin with, the Kevin Dykstra is unlicensed to work in WA. He has had two locksmith businesses, Snohomish County Mobile Locksmith and prior to that, Shirley's Lock & Key. Both of which have been administratively dissolved by the Washington State SOS due to lack of reporting and payment. No problem, can't get to everyone when your busy unlocking cars and houses. It's understood that's the main business. I texted photos of the doors I needed hardware replaced on. Never showed, rescheduled to Saturday after I sent pictures again. Texted that was on the way, never showed. Week later I texted and asked if knew a reputable locksmith, said they could do. Never heard from them again. Its ok it happens, people just need to know that this company, as well as most of the competitors, are dispatch driven lock out experts and key makers. This past March Jeff Dykstra was unable to fix my mother's key fob for her car. She prepaid him $250 which he said he would refund. It is now August he still has not paid her back. She is 78 years old and on a fixed income. I wouldn't trust this business and I am pretty upset. read more

When we moved to our new home in Snohomish off SR 9, I was super anxious to get everything in order. We just moved back from the East Coast after 2 years being there and we were hopeful to be purchasing a home. Unfortunately financing failed and we quickly swept up a duplex, a great little spot and were so thankful. However, the old tenants left us with no mailbox key. Well they did..but it didnt work or they just could not remember which slot was ours? :/ So after 3 weeks of trying every box in the 12 slot mailbox and calling them over and over to help us with no luck I called around for a locksmith. I was recommended to so many but everywhere I called surprisingly turned me away to try Snohomish Mobile Locksmith. They said "Hey he is closer and going to save you money...Ill do it but I feel bad charging you more money". That is an actual quote from 3 different locksmiths in the area! I decided OK! You want to save me a few bucks and are honest about it, then yes please! I immediately called the Snohomish Locksmith. No answer. I texted per the VM and got a response within 30 mins. Kevin is who I worked with and he said he would try to come that night and I was so excited because I had 3 weeks of mail sitting there..but he didn't make it. The next day he texted me for my address. But he still couldn't make it. Why 5 stars then, right? Well he showed up with whistles blowing the 3rd day! He texted and called me first thing in the morning saying he was on the way. My son had a Dr. Appt so I was rushing out the door, and Kevin showed up right when I was leaving. He worked so fast as if to get it done before I left and I was so impressed with him. He promised to text me a picture of the job done and the receipt so I could get my money back from my landlord. Not only did he do that, he sent me 3 pictures and a video. A VIDEO! I was smiling the whole time. Who goes out of their way on the job to show they did the job right!?
