I had a very tricky double lock on the tack room door of my horse trailer which I want to sell. I lost the keys. Other locksmiths either failed to pick the lock or told me it would run hundreds of dollars. The trailer manufacturer thought I'd probably have to cut the whole lock panel out of the door with a torch! I spoke to Scott at Lock N Roll by phone and sent pictures, and he felt he could at least pick it open. He said he'd charge $75 if he could get it open, and no charge if he could not. Keep in mind, I am at the very far edge of his service area, so a gas fee or service call would have been entirely reasonable. Scott came out exactly on time the very next morning and not only picked the lock open, but then managed to find a key that worked for both locks!! Scott still only charged me $75 when he'd just increased the resale value of my trailer by several hundreds of dollars. Scott was fantastic to deal with as I juggled various companies to help me out. Scott Monroe, A-1 Mobile Locksmith, programmed a spare keyfob for my Nissan Rogue, 2009. My father always told us to have a backup key for everything, and I always have. When I bought this car, there was only one fob. That is okay until you lose or misplace it. Months ago, Lock N Roll came out on short notice to replace various locks on our new house for which we had no keys, including a few fence gate locks and a mailbox. They were able to come out quickly and their price was very competitive. Once out here, they even volunteered that the fence locks were universal and just gave us new keys instead of charging for "replacing" the locks, which was super honest of them. Fast forward several months and we need a copy of the mailbox key, but three copies at various places don't work. So I call Lock N Roll again. They come out next day, confirm something is weird with the lock for the copies to not work, and replace the lock for me (with one that had all the keys I needed) free of charge. I had been calling around to try to find a lock smith to open my mailbox as I had broken my key. I called around to several locksmith and Lock N Roll (Scott) had the BEST prices (called a few other locksmiths) and was very efficient. We emailed back and forth for a couple of days and could fit me in a very short amount of time afterwards and worked with my work schedule. First off, i have to admit I called these guys because i liked the name. But being a person that watches too much exposé' TV, I was rather nervous when I realized I needed a locksmith. I had heard all the horror stories of the way locksmiths quote you one price then jack it up hundreds of dollars after the work is done. My boyfriend contracted Lock & Roll to do a simple re-keying of the locks on our new home in January. The owner, Scott, I believe, had to come out three times to re-key the five locks and claimed that two of the five could not be re-keyed and had to be special ordered and replaced. He had so much trouble figuring out the french door locks that he had to bring a second locksmith out with him the third time, saying that he'd never seen locks like ours. This was interesting to me, as I work for a large construction company and these locks are commonplace and basically all that architects will spec these days. He damaged our garage man door with a tool, gouging out the wood next to the lock, and when he was finally done, I noticed the following: one of the locks was extremely difficult to turn with the key (he told me that's the way it was supposed to be, but I've since talked to two other locksmiths that completely deny that claim; one of the locks turns several times before engaging (again, he tells me this is the way it's supposed to be); and the locks he installed were actually the wrong color (which he installed without telling me and I only noticed AFTER they'd already taken numerous hours to install). Once I noticed the color issue, he told me that he tried to order the right color, but couldn't find it. I believed him, but have since found that the correct color was quite easy for another locksmith to locate -- Scott from Lock & Roll simply ordered the wrong color and probably hoped I wouldn't notice. Since this was the third time he'd been there, and each time he was there for hours, I just wanted him out of our house. Fast forward a couple of months and we've never been able to unlock our front door with the key as it simply doesn't turn. Secondarily, the garage man door lock has broken and now will not engage at all. Last, but not least, I had Lee from Fast Locksmith (who did a great job - check my review!) changing the locks on another property and asked him to look for the right color french door locks and he was able to locate them in less than a day. When I called Scott to see if he would address these issues, he was initially fine, but when I pointed out that someone else found the correct color locks very easily, he got angry and combative, essentially telling me it was my fault as I should have reported the problems right away. I told him, calmly, that I work 60 hours a week and that this issue was quite literally the least of my worries. I asked him to at least pay for the locks he'd incorrectly ordered and he refused, lying to me by saying that he told my boyfriend beforehand and that he had approved (my boyfriend disagrees with this assertion. Scott didn't have the opportunity to talk to anyone but me from the initial appointment onward). He continued to get more and more combative and finally hung up on me. I now have to hire another locksmith (Lee from Fast Locksmith!) to fix all of Lock & Roll's mistakes. I only hope that this review saves someone else from the same trouble. read more

Maybe this is strange since I didn't actually end up using this service, but I'm giving this company 5 stars because of an extra-mile moment. I called because I'd locked myself out of my car, and someone picked up. I explained what my need was, and he let me know that he wasn't available, but then proceeded to give me advice about checking with my insurance company (to see if I had a few "free lockouts" that I might not know I had), and then gave me the phone number to another nearby locksmith I could try if that didn't work. Most businesses just won't answer if they know they can't take your job, but I really appreciated the customer service and care shown by this one. I'm sorry that I have to write this review. I have a customer who was upset enough to inform me that this company was dispatched to one of his commercial buildings to reset a knob back onto the door that had not been quite "clicked" into place. The technician badmouthed the locksmith who did the rekey and did not even reset the knob. Instead, he ruined the existing knob beyond repair, replaced it with a substandard lock, and did not rekey the new one to my customer's master key (a fire and life safety violation). My customer's locksmith has 38 years experience and his simple oversight caused much more harm than good. The professional locksmith replaced the lock and rekeyed it to the master key at no charge. THAT'S A TRUE PROFESSIONAL. The Lock N Roll locksmith could have reset the lock for around $85.00 including the service charge. Instead, my customer paid $180.00... Be careful who you use as a security professional in Monroe. read more

Okay, so we bought a house in Monroe and needed the locks re-keyed. I call Lock N Roll and talk to Scott, and set up a time to come out the day we took possession. Right on time he shows up and proceeds to re-key 5 locks/deadbolts in what I would say is record time (I'm not a locksmith but it sure seemed quick to me!). I had him make 6 keys as well, and we both verified that all the locks worked fine. Fast forward a couple of days, I go to open the door from the garage into the house, the key goes in, turns a bit, then freezes and we can't get in. The key won't even pull out of the lock - it is just stuck! Luckily i had one of the other spare keys with me, went in through the front door, but in trying to get into the garage from inside the lock would NOT budge, and i couldn't enter the garage from the house! So I call Scott, explain the situation, and without hesitation he says he'll come out right away. Within 15-20 minutes he is there, and the bottom line is that this lock is messed up. None of the re-keyed locks were new and had come with the house, so undoubtedly it needed to be replaced. I told him to just put a new on in and he did - AT NO CHARGE! The end result was HE MADE IT RIGHT! Lock N Roll took a little hit in doing so, but they sure made a life-long customer out of me! having been in retail for over 10 years and in the customer service industry for 30+ years - THIS IS THE WAY YOU DO BUSINESS - PERIOD! if you're looking for honesty and integrity, these are your guys!
