I have been looking for a shaved ice place here in Mass, ever since i had it out in Los Angeles. My gf saw some of her friends posts about this new place so we decided to take a drive up to Lowell to try this place out. I tried watermelon. It was good but now as flavorful as the one i had in cali. My gf got coconut which we both thought was very good. Her daughter got the honey dew which i think was the best flavor that we tried. This place is about a 40 min-1 hr drive away from Boston. It's pretty clean and open. They have a lot of options on their menu ranging from egg puffs, waffles, and even Hawaiian ice. I opted for mango snow with various toppings. Giving this 4 stars instead of 5 stars because it was decent. It's not something I'd drive an hour back for, but if I was in town I'd stop by. We drove by this place on our way to get dim sum in Lowell. While we were eating delicious dim sum, my husband and I looked this place up. I asked him, what in the world is shaved ice/snow? Shaved snow is a block of frozen cream, milk, sugar, and fruit flavor that is then shaved to give it an awesome texture. Shaved ice is similar but it is just shaved ice and then you put syrups on top, similar to a snocone. Anyways, I went with a taro and thai iced tea shaved ice with coconut strips, green tea mochi, and condensed milk. This was like heaven in my mouth. The shaved ice is the best! Not a fan of the shaved snow so I usually stick with the Hawaiian Ice. Atmosphere is great mix for young teenagers and families. They have a few tables and trendy seating but in a lounge arrangement which is great for playing games. The ice has strong flavoring and the prices are great for on the budget eating. Just wanted to add that ive since been back a million times. The strawberry cheesecake icecream is to die for. The owners seem like great people!!! Very friendly, warm and appreciative. You can usually tell a good owner by how they truley appreciate you coming in. Their coconut smoothies both fresh and powdered are delicious. I also want to point out that this stuff lasts in your freezer. If you want icecream for the week, maybe not today, but tomorrow and today is the only day you can get it, you can still pick it up and stick it in your freezer. If you get toppings like strawberries, they will freeze, but thats not always a bad thing. The icecream still stays smooth and perfect days later!!! I really like this place, but I live like an hour away so Ive only been a couple of times. Its generally not busy when I go. They really should have opened in Boston or around there. Business would have been crazy on Newbury Street. Sometimes certain things on the menu can be a little too sweet but that's about it for any critique. A unique shaved ice experience! The shaved ice is fluffy, soft yet flavorful. We asked the staff for recommendations and were glad we went with them. We noticed people ordering waffles as much as saved ice and boba tea. If snowdaes was closer or opened up another location, I would love to frequent their shop more often. They don't offer their specialty items online, but when you call the store to try to place a phone order online, they tell you to use the online ordering system. I explained that it's not online, and they wouldn't make an exception. So the option was order items online, then have to go in an wait for the specialty items even though the other items were already ordered. Makes an online system completely useless if all items can't be ordered online, and they won't take a phone order to have all items ready for pick up at the same time. I asked to speak to a manager to have an item added to the online order via phone since I couldn't order Shortie's Special online, and was told they don't make exceptions. Too bad we won't be giving this business money anymore, hopefully they revise their absurd ordering policies to either allow all items to be ordered in their online system, or to accept phone orders. The kicker was when the manager told me they didn't care if they lost us as customers; mission accomplished! read more

Came and had the mango shaved snow with shaved coconut and sprinkles on top (because if I can put sprinkles on something, you better believe I'm going to). The texture of the shaved snow was really interesting, and the shaved coconut enhanced it. It's a cute little spot that's perfect to come to for dessert or to just hang out for a bit. read more

Snowdaes is a bright, clean place with friendly staff. The shaved ice cream is great. My favorites are the strawberry cheesecake and the almond joy specialties, but you can customize what you want. You can also get something like a snow cone, but in my opinion the shaved ice cream is the way to go. read more

I visit this place almost every week, and it is the best bubble tea place in the area. They have various drinks and dessert options. Although, I have noticed over time that the drinks are never the same every time. For example, sometimes they are a bit sweeter or the tea isn't as strong, or the boba is softer than usual. They also often run out of normal sized boba. Despite all this, I will continue to visit since it is a cute little shop and they also have many games for their customers to use. read more
