I'm a sucker for that last one - what can I say? - and Snowl's rendition has always been a big hit with me. But truly, any kind of drink you pick will titillate you, and they even have mango- and strawberry-flavored popping boba if you really want to let your wild side out (but please, this is a family-friendly place, so let's not get too carried away, m'kay?). It was my first time at this place and I got the strawberry snowl to go - the consistency of the snow is very soft and fluffy, similar to meet fresh on Colorado . Was excited about the portion sizing, and the interesting mix of flavors, definitely solid- they ran out of the samanco or the fish shaped ice cream sandwiches... We got ice cream and bubble tea at Snowls because grocery shopping is exhausting, but really I'm just making an excuse to have dessert. I got a fish milk tea ice cream (taiyaki with ice cream) and match green tea w/boba even though we were really trying to get regular green tea. The place was spacious and nicely decorated. What I wish could have been different would be if they have other toppings for their soft serve, such as their shave ice toppings, and a regular green tea. It doesn't seem like tea is their forte, especially since is drink came out warm and they didn't have that many tea flavors, but the boba had a good chew. I would say this is pretty authentic Korean shaved ice whereas Snowlab seems to be more Taiwanese shaved ice. This place is so cool! The atmosphere and decoration was really trendy. I ordered the taiyaki cookies- some with red bean and some with chocolate. PRO TIP: Never use their app to preorder. It's a cute place but order in person if you want subpar boba drinks and food. My cousin is visiting from Virginia. Due to time constraints, I used their app to preorder and save time. When we arrived, no one greets you. I noticed people were using self service kiosks but there are no signage or check ins for preorders. Once I got someone's attention, I told them I preordered online. The ill-mannered troll in the back says our order won't be ready because we just placed it at at 12 (bc that's what the ticket says) and they open at 12 and that it would be 30 min. I was taken aback bc of her rudeness bc 1. I preordered at 09:22. 2. Per the app it said our order would be ready at 1215. 3. What's the point of pre ordering then?? Punky Rudester again says that's not what the ticket says and then changes the ETA to 20 minutes. Our drinks were ready pretty immediately. Once our food was ready, she basically told my cousin we couldn't dine in because it was a take out order. I told her it was for dine in. Well, according to their damn ticket, which is their Bible, it says take out and we were not allowed to dine in. I had to call her out for being rude and I had no patience or understanding for her rude ass at this point. The establishment is empty. It's not like seating is a current issue. I'm explaining that I ordered on their app and went step by step selecting "for here". The ill-mannered troll is still fixated on her ticket and says "that's not what the ticket printed out" and the reason why we couldn't dine in was bc the amount of food is more when it is take out vs dine in. I have no idea why there would be a difference in the amount of food but I offered to pay more for it. She declined and said she will allow us to dine in "just this time." I offered to order something again on the app to prove that I selected dine in. She says she doesn't know how to refund the money. She basically insisted there is no possible way the ticket is incorrect and told us we could dine in "just this time but next time order it correctly". Ohhhh little defective child, how much I wanted to dump our order all over your establishment but 2 wrongs don't make a right. Any outsider would be able to size up 2 Asian females, one being pregnant, and our order being $35, that we're not trying to be riffraff at a dessert spot. What a nut. Love the waffles, can't stand the boba. I don't know what's up with how they're prepping their boba but the texture is completely off. It's late and you're tired so we try to eat quickly. 1101pm and they are telling us we need to leave, but not in a polite way. More in a forceful, get out of here tone of voice. We don't like how they speak to us but we understand and ask for to go containers and start to pack up. I return the first of four bowls we used and she sharply asks me where the other 3 bowls are. Before I can tell her we are still on the process of wrapping up, another employee points at our table and forcefully says, "You can't leave. You need to clean your table." At this point we've had enough of this so we tell them we don't appreciate the way they are speaking to us and pushing us out the door. They dig in saying that they told us they are closing at 11pm and that we should've left already. We finish cleaning and leave the store at 1106pm. I've never been to a service related business and been treated like this for going 6 minutes over. Very unfortunate because their food is good. Snow + Bowl = Snowl... This is my translation of their business name and so far I have been here multiple times with my friends. I have lived most of my life in Korea and honestly, this is the closest dessert place like the ones in Korea or Taiwan. As soon as you walk in, this place has a great atmosphere with cute interior elements, and it is very modern and chic to enjoy your desserts with your friends. Customer base is also very dinamic and diverse...from children to elderlies...they seem very very popular despite any ethnicity. Located on the Havana street and especially an area/block where couple other foreign restaurants are present(Korean Fried Chicken place, Japanese Ramen place, Korean all-you-can-eat bbq restaurant, plus 7eleven), i think this place is more than adequate for a dessert place after dining out. I always go for their Misugaru(blended beans) snow bowl and fish-shaped bread filled with red beans. Try their smoothies too they have a variety of flavors. My personal advice and warning is that they could be a little too crowded and no seats available during dining-out-prime-time. Korean owned, Korean dessert-inspired, such a friendly staff and adorable atmosphere! The only reason i give them 4 stars is because of their price(a little bit pricy) and a long line to get a dessert- but just get that dessert! They won't disappoint you. read more

I think Snowl was designed with social media in mind because it seems like every corner has a staple of the perfect aesthetic restaurant. This was also the first place (and only) I have had Taiyaki, those adorable fish shaped cones. I had it filled with red bean paste, taro and covered in fruity pebbles. The cone was so good because it wasn't overly sweet. That was probably my favorite thing that while I was eating dessert, it wasn't sickly sweet.
