I absolutely love this place! I've had awful experiences at almost every other nail shop in Alexandria, including Sunflower Nails across the street from here. This place is great. There is hardly anyone in there, which is good but makes me sad that more people don't come here. I've been here 3 times and every time my nails look amazing and better than any other place. I've had three different nail technicians so far - Kathy, Rose and someone I don't remember and there was no quality difference between the three which is extremely rare! This is a meh kinda of salon. Nothing special. Everything is mediocre. The service is nothing out of the ordinary. The signage in the salon "we reserve the right" "notice" are somewhat threatening. Cleanliness is fine, they could have paid closer attention to the floors. The shocker for me was the prices...yikes. They are about ten percent higher than the other salons in the area. If the pedicure was really special, I would have been okay. It was a regular pedicure-there was no fancy buzzers or bells. It was just adequate. Next time, I will do my homework. Omg these ladies no how to give you a spa service! They have all the regulations in place for covid (so clean!!!)!!! Have you ever been getting your nails done and your technician is more worried about their next walkin rather than finishing you up with quality... yea that does not happen here. I TRIED y'all I really tried to like this place and potentially establish my new nail place in VA since moving... I'll let this pix speak for themselves. I called and made an appointment for a pedi and full set. Came in and sat for maybe 20/25 minutes before being acknowledged after initially walking in saying "hi I had the 2:30 appointment." Waiting. Waiting. Finally someone came up and said sorry we're super busy. At that point I grew impatient and said "okay, I can come back later but what time is best for YALL so I don't have to wait longer?" We settle on coming back in an hour and a half later. I came back and chose my color, showed the design and they said "oh that's easy", I said great I just want it done with this particular color instead of the one in the pic. They didn't understand I guess and just tried to talk me into doing tips and dip powder instead. So I did. And then said okay, I'll just do this simple design instead, but in THIS color... Full set looked nice, still had to get a pedi. While there was a great massage chair, and they had many steps involved,my cuticle that grows a little extra on my left toe didn't get much attention. (I hadn't realized til after the actual pedi or I would've said "make me bleed" sooner.) Also, this is the first time I've been to a salon where the prices weren't published and I didn't have a choice in my pedi. I was one of the last ones out and grateful but man, this was an ordeal. Priced kind of high but after not getting my nails done in 6/7 months I knew it wasn't gonna be less than $100. Well, 4 days after my appointment 3 tips snapped off while I was at work. Both embarrassing and frustrating. I ended up having to trim and file my ends til I could get home and remove them. As much as I wanted to like this place, while their staff was nice... I'm still continuing my search for a new nail shop. Hopefully there are better experiences for others, this just wasn't it for me. read more

I'm so disappointed. First of all this nail salon is a complete rip off. They are lucky I didn't call the board while I was in there to make sure the tech who did my nails, is even licensed !! I'm so fucking tired of going to nail salons and you mf's overcharging people ! I went in there with nothing on my nails or toes-Blank canvas. I asked for an ACRYLIC FULL SET & GEL PEDI. (Please remember I said this.) My toes literally look like my daughter did them. She's 5 and she can paint better than this. Absolutely terrible for $60 !!!!!!!! My nails look like the lady is still in training. I paid nearly $46 for my nails & they have no polish on them ! She was trying to charge me $56 !! And all I got was an acrylic full set !! NO POLISH. Mind you I asked for short, sharp square, nails....SUPER EASY. No designs This is why they are a joke: They told me that they charge $41 for an acrylic full set with "no tip" ----pretty much their menu should say "OVERLAYS cost $41" (NOT AN ACRYLIC FULL SET WITH NO TIPS) As a nail salon, y'all should know that service is called a fucking OVERLAY. Shit made no sense at all so I was extremely confused. The acrylic full set, "with tips" or I should say "some lengthstart at $46 - with no polish lmao What nail salon starts a full set at $46 ???? For this quality of work ? Are you fucking kidding me right now ! I'm absolutely disputing the purchase TODAY ! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME. PLEASE !!!!! this is unacceptable. Hello, Do not go to this salon, read all. This evening I had an appt at SNS Spa & Salon on RIchmond HWY in Alex., VA... I received a very good mani & pani ($87 plus tip); thank you Tina (the only reason why I kept going back to that salon) but no more). My experience ended badly. I'm starting this review at the end of the event. I was asked by the owner to take down a previous post today which I don't see now. She came to my car after my appointment in the rain and said "take down your post you hurting my business." I think it's on her FB page. Now if she had talked to me with some respect, politeness and not with disdain and a nasty tone I may have been a little more receptive to the conversation but noooo, she didn't and didn't even greet me just said her "business" and left. Not only will I not take it down I will add to it. When I came into the shop for my appointment I was greeted with "you got an appointment, go wash you hands, in a very nasty, rude disrespectful tone." I am an African American women and thought, wow how rude to myself. I should have left then but tomorrow is my birthday and I have birthday celebrations all day. Now get this, when a white woman came in to get her one nail repaired, not one person told her to go wash her hands. She sat right beside me (a chair in between us) and at no time did she wash her hands. We were the only two customers in the salon. I also asked if they gave massages after the white lady asked could she get her legs massaged. I was told no, we don't give massages. So who do I see sitting in a massage chair, that's right the white lady getting ready for her leg massage. I decided at that point never to go back to that place of business. I see why they are losing customers. I will not give this salon any more of my hard earned money and I didn't have to patronize them. Salons on Richmond Hwy in Alex., VA are like churches on Franconia Road; one on every corner. I will find a salon that appreciates me and treats me with respect. Any suggestions? read more

I thought I found a great new spot. Everyone is very nice and I don't feel as pressured as I sometimes do in nail salons for extra services. However, I went for a full set twice. The first time was acrylic and the second the dipping powder set. Within 2 days a nail broke. It was fixed using a different color tip so it looked different underneath. Then over the next three days I had 6 broken nails two of which broke Below my nail line and are painful. I will not be back because I don't know why that many nails would break off so soon. She did fix the first one no charge but I ended up getting a pedicure too which I think made her want to repair the nail at no charge. Smh my hunt continues for a nail tech read more

While I had a pedicure and a gel manicure by Rose, Karen brought me a snack and a glass of champagne! They also offer dipping powder manicures. Been going to this shop before it was bought over by a new owner. It was then Color Nails. A few months ago, I received appt reminder along with a text saying "if you are late $20 fee" I normally come 20mins early so I can chose my nail color wasn't sure need for text. One day I decided to stay on my car for 15 mins prior to appt and nail tech comes knocking on my window asking if I could come in early. Very strange since I told her twice I was on a call. The day of my appt I was in traffic made a courtesy call that I would be late (3mins exactly) Tina told me she couldn't do the pedicure I wanted bc I was late (3mins!) She rushed through my pedicure and manicure while saying she had another client. I waited several mins after she finished me and there was no other client. Days when I was early I sat because she was late getting to me - was I offered a discount of $20? absolutely not. I will never return. Mentioned this to other nail techs in different locations and they were appalled about the $20 late fee and other shenanigans. I would rather spend my money where I'm appreciated! If I were you I wouldn't bother stepping foot in this establishment. read more

I give two stars because the pedicure was lovely. I walked into the shop, only a small amount (less than 5) of other customers, and asked if anyone was available to do a pedicure and a full set of SNS with ombré dip nail, pink to white. I was told yes, and first up was the pedicure. Basic pedicure, lovely service. Well done, great cuticle cleanup. The issue came with my SNS set. I sat down with a woman, glasses and brown hair, did not catch her name, and she proceeded to prep my nails. The first issue was with the nail shape and length. I asked for a short coffin, however, she proceeded to oscillate between rectangular and coffin, with differing lengths. My nails have no consistency. When I mentioned the shape to the tech, she nodded politely as if she was going to fix it, but continued. Although I was unsatisfied we were already at one full hour, so I decided to let it go. The second issue came with SNS ombre, terrible. It took this nail tech over two hours, and ultimately, she could not get the color correct. She added several, 3-4, layers in SNS on my nails to try and color correct, and STILL could not. I ended up with two color blocks on my nails, very very thick SNS layers. The tech and who I can only assume was the manager, knew the color was still an issue because halfway through, the manager came to the tech's side and gave her a new brush and instructed her in another method of applying the SNS. Ma'am, why did you step up to paint my nails if you could not do the job?? I found it very inconsiderate that with a near-empty shop, I was handed off to someone who did not have the skill set to complete my request. Ultimately, after spending THREE HOURS in the salon, I asked the tech to apply a top coat so that I could leave. I paid the people a full $70 (OVERPRICED FOR POOR SERVICE), as I was in a rush and it's a pandemic and everyone needs their coin. Will not be returning, do not recommend their services to anyone else. Clearly they prioritize profits at any cost, even adequate service. Wish I never paid them and had more time to argue with the manager directly. read more
