There is a non refundable booking fee of 20$. For no reason. You can't find on the website what it's for. I called and it's to prevent ppl from flaking on Their cancellations. Which doesn't make sense as it doesn't go towards your balance, you it all in advance and it isn't credited towards your future stay. They are basically charging you to book a stay with them. We love Snug Harbor! New management is proactive and on the job. They really care about the guests experience and go out of their way to provide a fun family atmosphere. Labor day weekend was fantastic! Games like cornhole for the kids, outdoor movie night, jest ski show all in one weekend! Saturday was Taco night followed by breakfast burritos Sunday morning! I have been coming here for decades. Staff is still friendly when they are there. They seem to be way understaffed and the store is closed a couple days during the week now so stock up on ice! No tent sites anymore, and can't put a tent in your site so not great if you have teens that want their own space. Looks kind of run down now. Weeds and grass around the sites not trimmed like they used to be. Docks are falling apart with screws sticking up and there are several holes to break an ankle in so be careful. Sad for me to see it go down hill. All that said I still love this place and is the best area in the delta I think. read more

As a first time visitor and guest of friends who are frequent visitors. I was disappointed in the service and treatment that we received on November 2, 2024. What started as a birthday event turned into a nightmare due to the attending staff on duty. Not sure who the guy was as he would not give his name. We have never seen this person in all the years we've patronized this campground. He appeared to be in his early 30's, thin build, had a strong southern accent, rode a electric Hoover device, and referred to himself as the maintenance staff early in the day. We spoke to someone at the front desk before we arrived (appr. 7:30 am) who told us that the power has been out at he park since the previous night and was expected to come back on at 12 noon. Having been told this info we decided to bring a generator to the tent site for power. The maintenance guy appeared to have an issue with the generator the moment he laid eyes on it. He immediately informed me that it would need to be turned off by nightfall. This was news to me as other had generators on thought the day and I have never been told this information before having stayed over in my camping trailer. As the website indicates, I have always adhered to the 11:00pm-8:00 am quiet hour so I was a bit confused at his request. After our first encounter with the maintenance guy regarding the generator, while we were packing to leave at (appr. 7pm), he trolled the area, was extremely controversial regarding a generator being used after dark. He continues to be confrontational, aggressively yelling and targeting our group. He call us racial slurs and said that only trash rents the $40 tent sites and that he had a recent encounter with tent guests who were problematic. He said tent guests are always an issue and only trash visitors rents the tent sites. I was alarmed because my RV group frequently visits this campground as do I and have also rented the cabins on numerous occasions. When asked to leave due to his erratic behavior which appeared to be drug induced; He was irrational, got within inches of my face and yelled you need to leave now or I will call the police. On the phone myself I ask how was he sure he wasn't speaking with a police officer? Little, did he know i was. He continues his threatening behavior, shining a flashlight in our faces and was persistent in showcasing his unprofessionalism. I asked had he been using a mind altering substance due to his unrelenting stane which was captured on video! He said that he was close to me to see if I had been drinking. I told him I have never drank or smoked any substance in my life and politely asked that he step away from my personal space. He then chanted that he needed to be close to me and that he could take me down with one hand behind his back as he was trained to do so. We love this place and we have recommended a lot of people in our RV network to visit here due to the tranquility and positive experiences we've had over the years. All has changed since this recent encounter with you new maintenance staff member. I would recommend for good report with future campers that you remove this guy from your facility immediately .I can assure that he will hurt the prospects of future and continuing business relationships. He is not a good representation of Snug Harbor. read more

I was on a road trip through some Wine Country and North Delta sites and all the stays near Sacramento were stupid-expensive. However, off the beaten path between Sacramento and Antioch is the North Delta town of Walnut Grove and, along the guard-rail-less roads that top the levees there, this RV park that was reasonably priced for NorCal. It turned out to be an adorable little RV and mobile home park on a sand bar between forks of Steamboat Slough. The tiny mobile home I rented via booking.com (I think) was chilly but the heat worked and had enough accoutrements to survive the night. The TV's signal was iffy, but enough to watch some local stuff. They even provided companionship as a little mouse buddy scurried past my feet while on the commode! The area is slow-moving and pretty, but be warned: There isn't a restaurant for quite some distance - especially when the ferries are closed for the season - and the shop at the check-in counter doesn't have much and closes pretty early. (I think I got there at 6 pm or so and she was closing up the moment I left!) Bring your own meals. Horrible customer service. We had a reservation and spent a couple hours driving around trying to find a bridge to cross but every single bridge and ferry was closed. I contacted the host who kept saying take 84 I which I replied I cannot even get to 84 because all the bridges are closed. He just kept asking if I wanted to cancel and that if I did it would be non refundable despite not being able to physically drive there. I screen shotted all the access points as you can see in the pictures. Every yellow hazard symbol was a closure. I also told him they should have been proactive in calling anyone with a reservation to let us know so we didn't waste hours driving around. Do not recommend. read more

Manager is weird. Everything is not as it seems. The landscaping is being neglected, the store is a joke, docks in disrepair, bad plumbing and the help keeps quitting because they don't get paid when they are supposed to. I would stay someplace else. IF there was a negative number I would give that. read more

We go here every year for our annual kids out of school summer holiday. We bring our boat, fish, take the kids tubing, jet ski, float around by the docks, swim! The cabins are so cute, I get the kids their own and the adults all get their own right next door to each other. It's amazing good fun. Danny the GM will be greatly missed he was a gem and made sure we always had a great time. read more

We just got back from a family vacation. My husband did a lot of research between Snug Harbor and Ko-Ket. We chose Snug Harbor, honestly because it was about $700 cheaper and because they advertise that they have an arcarde. The pictures on their website are very old and photoshopped. The arcade is permantely closed. The place is run down and in some serious need of TLC. When I went to check in, the older lady in the office, was shocked that I was checking in and slightly rude. She eventually calmed down. The "store" has a lot of spider webs and spiders. It could be real cute. I love camp stores, they always carry unique stuff. This store did not have a lot of character. Hardly had what you forgot at home. Needed to be stocked for sure. We find out duplex and it is like the store, in need of some serious TLC. The lower deck is bowing, the upper deck has some cracks that are sharp if you are walking bare foot, the outside of the cabins are falling apart, the studio comes with keys but you cannot lock it from the outside and it had a weird smell to it, and the spiders and spider webs make it look extra creepy. We go inside and it's the same. Lots of spiders and spider webs. We only got one roll of toilet paper in each unit. It looked like no one really cleaned inbetween families. They just gave us clean linens and towels. The sofa has some serious stains on them and the cushions look like someone took a knife to them. We used extra sheets and blankets to cover it just so we can sit on it. We paid for the WIFI but it didn't work and kept trying to ask me to pay more. We ended up upgrading our cell service so we can use a hotspot, just so the kids can play roblox and watch disney + at night. Our BBQ had a very old kabob in it. Clearly no one looks at them. Overall, we learned that you get what you pay for. Be aware the pics on their website are REALLY old. The entire place needs some love. Some units are clearly owned by people, and those look great. The rentals are all falling apart. The covered berths are falling apart. They want to charge you $38 a foot to rent them out. They are dangerous to walk on let alone park your expensive boat in. The new guy that they hired for the front was very friendly. We will never be back here again. read more

We spent 3 days in a waterfront cabin at Snug Harbor. We had a great time and I was sorry to leave. My thing is kayaking and I couldn't have been happier. You can launch from a dock, boat ramp, or their clean sandy beach (my choice). Good location for exploring the waterways of the delta. My friend is into fishing, and spent many hours fishing from the dock located a few steps from our tidy, tiny, well appointed cabin. This place is under new ownership and is nothing like the old place my sister visited a few years ago. The park is quiet (or it was during our November visit), neat, clean, and the owner and their staff were kind, helpful, attentive, all while also respecting our privacy. They made us feel like they sincerely wanted us to enjoy ourselves, which we did. I will be going back in 2023. read more

What a gem. Unfortunately the ferries were out- which was not in the control of the RV park, otherwise everyone was just wonderful. They had propane for sale on site and even delivered our tanks to us! They moved us to a more level site during a rare rainy day when we checked in. They are doing lots of renovating, the office floor was completely redone during our stay. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. read more

4.75 overall based on expectations...we found this place while looking for a shake-out location close to home for our inaugural camping trip in a "new to us" travel trailer. The location is great, the staff is wonderful. We were excited that each site offered a fire pit and BBQ (which we didn't see online). We rented a riverfront site. We were at the river's edge with our own dock. Hubby caught a fish per day, with the final fish being a nice striper (keeper). There are full hook-ups and nice and clean bathrooms with a shower. There is a fairly large long-timer occupancy but everyone was nice and the site it well-kept. I am sure the summer this place is packed but for New Year's week it was just what we were looking for! read more

Needed to get out & away! Stayed in site #65. Shaded site on the other Steamboat slough, not the main slough. Green, still water. Full hookups by the back gate. A nice resort with plenty of room for boats & trailers. We didn't have a boat, but my brother did. Restrooms are closed, tent sites are closed, and you must be fully self contained. The on-site store is open, but you can not go in. Really enjoyed the weekend here! Rabbits, squirrels, and plenty of birds. Little windy, but the breeze when mild is nice. Quiet & peaceful. If you fish, bring a pole! Getting here from the Bay Area with a trailer is a challenge! There are 2 ferries that are not an option with a 5th wheel or trailer. You will need the take the long way! I would suggest going up 5. In google maps, enter the address and be sure in options to de-select ferries and select highway 5. Without a 5th wheel or trailer, the ferries are great to get around as long as they're running! Check the hotline. We were able to use 1 ferry, but 2 hours later it was closed and we had to use the other ferry. Added 45 minutes to get back to Snug Harbor! Will go back again, but not too often due to the ferries! read more

We accidentally found this place as a stopping point to a further destination. We're stoked to find it! Richard was exceptionally easy to work with getting situated and the spot was amazing. He even helped me figure out some issues I had going on with my toy hauler. There are several docks to go fishing on with a cute little beach to hangout at the end. We're looking forward to intentionally visiting next time and staying for longer. I would recommend to family and friends and will be visiting again. read more

My dad has been up several times and loves this place, so we decided to come up with the whole family for the weekend. When the ferries are down, it's a long drive. We had a great time though. Staff is super friendly. We rented the biggest cabin, so their was plenty of beds and space for us. The docks are pretty worn out, have to be extra careful and watching for tripping hazards when walking out. And the cabin itself could use a deep cleaning. The kids kept complaining of spider webs, the floors are just ancient and no amount of sweeping helped, and the couch covers should probably just be replaced. But everything was in working order. And we went with the mind setting of a camping trip, so kind of expecting dirt. Overall it was totally worth it. Nice quiet little spot. There was a lot of trailers and other boats, etc but it's so quiet you hardly even notice other guests and a lot of the time it felt like we had the whole site to ourselves. We'll be back for sure. read more

This is my third year visiting Snug Harbor and I have always enjoyed my time there, until this year. From what I am gathering, ownership has changed and with it the quality of this place. First, we arrived a 4pm on a Friday night. We were unable to access the resort as the gate required a code. There was no one available at the store and we eventually had to call the corporate call center. They couldn't help us. Luckily we had friends who were staying there that were able to share the gate code so we could get in. Once we entered the park, we attempted to check in but the office was closed, even though it stated it was open until 6pm. There were no after hours check-in paperwork, or key, or code, or anything. We again had to call the call center. They told us someone should be there, were terribly sorry. They suggested we go to our cabin and try the door. No such luck, we were locked out. Finally we decided to all around the complex and try to find someone to help us. A very kind gentleman who seemed to be a maintenance type person told us the manager was out in a boat ride . He was able to suggest a few codes to try on the door and one happened to work. We were able to finally get into our into after an hour and a half. The unit was clean but definitely run down. The bathroom sink would not drain and the second exit door had a gaping hole at the top plugged with a paper towel. The towel bar in the bathroom fell off, but I was able to put it back on. There was trash all over our site when we arrived. To add to the overall disappointment, there were other campers at the this place behaving poorly without anyone to remind them off the campground rules and etiquette as the manger spent most of the weekend not being around. This place was a really great spot .... but it wa has gone way down hill. I would not recommend it until they get their manager situation figured out! read more

I will start by saying it's a weird time to be a first-time visitor anywhere. This RV park is located in a rural spot on one of the many sloughs in the area. It is so quiet and peaceful here. I loved hanging out on the docks and taking it all in. We rented a pontoon boat at a (quite distant!)rental spot one of the days and otherwise floated our inflatables off the side of the docks at Snug all the other days. So it is possible to hang out here and have a good time without a boat but this place is at up for boaters and most people come here for that. The water is clean and good for swimming. We never used the campground restrooms or showers (so I didn't assess what condition they are in), the general store was closed due to COVID, and our contact with Snug employees, while pleasant enough, was minimal. Seems like this place is in decline and you can tell it goes further back than this COVID year. Lots of rickety dock boards, and cobwebs in every surface outside that need to be blown off with a pressure washer or blower. Just lots of little things needing maintenance. read more

I have also been told rents are the same across the board. Favoritism no longer exists. Just visiting the resort allowed me to feel the positive aura - much different than when we left. I can't wait to see what happens next here as far as the new plans go. I'm so happy for our friends there! I'm not sure what's up with all the bad reviews but Snug Harbor is awesome! It was my family first time here. My mom and step dad stayed in snuggle inn 15 and me and hubby and our 3 kids stayed next door in snuggle inn 14. The place was clean & tidy & big enough for my family of 5. Hubby had to drive to rio vista to get food. Our cottage came with cooking pots and pans, dish soap, knives ect. An oven, microwave which was awesome! We were able to cook our meals for our family during our stay. You do have to bring your own sheets and covers, pillows for the bedroom which isn't a problem. Bring your own towels & rags & soap to shower. Everytime I had a question, I called the office and they answered. The staff that works there is nice! They have a tether ball area that my 2 year old & 1 year old enjoyed playing with their grandma. Each cottage has a picnic table in the back and a view of the river! Fire pits in the back as well! We roasted marshmallows and made s'mores! My kids loved it! Hubby took us all on a night walk on the dock, over the beautiful full moon and river! It was fun and truly an adventure! You have to be careful, the dock is a tad wobbly. My 13 year old enjoyed fishing and he caught his first fish ever while camping here. (We threw the fish back in the water, we are vegetarians) We seen some geese in the back of our cottage. My step dad seen a rabbit and on the last day of our stay we seen a seal swimming in the river in the back of our cottage! It was an amazing sight to see! There's beautiful flowers surrounding the camp site! Cons: There are bee's and wasps. A few of them made their way inside of our cottage during our stay (3) to be exact but it wasn't a big deal to us. Hubby & my 13 year old just killed the wasps with their shoe when they seen it. read more

We had a great stay here! We had a group rent out 3 of the units and we all really enjoyed them! We had the 3 bedroom which had sooo much space! With having a crawling baby your quick to notice dirty floors. But while staying there across from the beach I get how hard that task is! But a wet swiffer on hand would go along way! We towed a boat in so had to take the "long" route but ended up getting there the fastest with others in our party not fully checking which ferry's were running. But the drive didn't seem to long at all. And with having littles, the beach would have been all we needed for the weekend stay but would take the boat again for a longer stay. Great property, great staff, great times! We are looking forward to going back. read more

Our family recently stayed here and we loved it. The couple who run this place Anthony and Cici are great. They made us feel welcome they go out of their way to make sure guest are happy and comfortable. Whatever we needed they made it happen. Well folks. It's all we expected and more. This is a true Delta getaway (staycation) for those those of us who can experience local areas without being overly pampered. This is actually an old Fishing Camp that has multiple cozy tiny homes with all the amenities. There are RV sites with full hook up as well. What truly set this place apart for me was the people. I believe we as a society sometimes forget that people make the experience as much as the destination. Friendly staff and neighborly campers. No rowdy loud crowd. The staff truly help ya 'snuggle in'! I brought my boat, daughter and her two cousins. I felt secure, as you enter via private road to a monitored security gate with access code. We had a blast! I would not encourage anyone to stay at Snug Harbor. The cabins are filthy and in terrible condition for the outrageous fees that they charge. We were recent guests during the July 4th holiday and were appalled by the condition of the cabins, poor communication of the management (called multiple times with no response) and the lack of professionalism from the maintenance to the general manager. Our entire stay was terrible, upon arrival we had a terrible gas smell in our cabin. Notified maintenance guy who echoed the gas smell but said the upper management would do anything to fix it. Our friends who were also staying there entered a filthy cabin that was never serviced. Day 2 we came back from a day out to find that there was a fire next to our cabin that we were told was "a controlled burn" that had clearly gotten out of control when 3 fire engines and the fire Marshall showed up to inform all guests that the maintenance guy allowed his grandchildren to play with fireworks. We spent the entire night inhaling smoke. Bottom line, cheaper does not mean better. We would never stay here again. Ko-ket is family owned and a wonderful, clean and safe environment and Yogi Bear (in Tower Park) are by far better choices to stay. read more

This was our second time and our last time staying here. Although the cabins were nice, and access to the delta was great we were treated very poorly. Do not invite any guests as they will not be welcome. We were constantly harassed on both visits by the staff. Be sure to bring your own toilet paper as they would not provide more when we ran out. Beware the Wi-Fi cost extra and when we added our CC to pay for it, we were hacked and someone stole our CC info. Also, just checked my CC statement and they double-billed me. I prepaid this trip 3 months ahead of time and they charged me again upon our departure. read more

A great little hidden gem. we have been going here 1-2 times a year since 2019. love the improvements made over the years. The private beach is perfect for the family and this is where my kids caught their first fish. The people working there are kind and friendly, always willing to make your stay one to remember. Our experience here at Snug Harbour has been amazing. The staff is attentive, kind, and family friendly. Danny has especially been welcoming and is very knowledgeable about the area and the amenities offered. He has been super flexible with the store hours. The area is well taken care of and has a comfortable atmosphere, I have kids. I especially enjoy the fun stuff on Saturday (karaoke, Cornhole tournament coming up. We had such a great trip. Each rv site is by the water. We also reserved the dock so we could leave the boat and jet skis in the water. By doing this the launch fees are waived. Having coffee watching the sun come up on "the dock of the bay" was just great! Walking around we were able to check out some of the cabins for rent. They were okay and I think pretty reasonably priced. They were picky about doggy papers and shots, but I was ready, so no biggie. We will return next year. read more

We just got back from our first visit to the Delta and had an amazing family vacation. Our stay at Snug Harbor was very comfortable. The staff is all very friendly, and do everything they can to accommodate. We rented a Snuggle Inn and were pleasantly surprised. The units are clean, well-maintained and offered plenty of room for our family of four and our dog. The grounds are well-kept and clean. They offer a nice size dog area for having your dog off-leash. Our Snuggle Inn had a built-in BBQ, which we used twice, as well as a nice little deck and picnic bench. There was plenty of dock space for us to have our boat right out in front of our unit, and we never had to wait at the gas dock. We had lots of fun fishing right off the dock, also. As far as watersports, it is unbelievable. The sloughs offer dead-flat water at all times of the day, seemingly regardless of wind. The rare occasions that we saw other boats, the wakes would disappear into the brush and sloped banks, leaving more flat water in front of us. We all skied and wakeboarded so much that our legs were about to fall off by the end of each day. It was so nice being able to sleep in each day and enjoy our morning routine, knowing there was great water just waiting for us. Water is a little green, but clean and generally clear. I never felt dirty getting out of the water. We are SoCal residents, so we generally go to Lake Havasu or the Colorado River. After this trip, though, we may be Delta converts. Highly recommend Snug Harbor and the Delta. read more

One of the best camping experiences thus far. Staff is super accommodating and kind. Grounds are small but perfect for boating, fishing, bringing dogs (dog park) and for kids to play. They have Cornhole and an arcade and they do karaoke activities on Saturday night. We originally were tent camping but the weather was supposed to be quite cold and windy so the managers/owners allowed us to stay in one of the cottages that weren't being used, at no additional cost. Will definitely be spreading the word and will be back soon! read more
