Situation: I called Snyder Law from the delivery room of Hoag Hospital, with the birth of our second child, I got the haunting feeling that no matter what, we had to protect the welfare of these (2) very young children, with us in the world or out. I wasn't freaking out...but I was definitely freaking out. I called Synder and spoke to Hannah, their legal assistant (who was amazing), and was immediately passed to Carolyn, Kevin's wife. The profound professionalism for which she handled my questions on the call, along with the jest of my environment (no one had ever called from the delivery room), made the conversation fun and credible. I knew this was the right team to help me and my wife navigate. Planning: We had a pre-call with Kevin before our design meeting, in "design meeting" I mean a white boarding session of what exactly the heck all of this is about (let's be real, we had no clue), and he solidified our first impressions of the credibility and professionalism of their office - Kevin was extremely empathetic and wanted to make sure our goals and purpose for his services and our relationship was aligned for mutual benefit, while developing a long term ecosystem of trust and empathy that we can profit from for years to come. My civil attorney gave us a referral to this business. I was given the responsibility to restructure the family trust with my mother as requested by my father before he passed away. This Attorney acted indigent and needy from the beginning 1/3 money up front after very very brief sales pitch where we discussed a logical plan for restructuring our trust. After we payed the 1/3 the attorney went about designing a horrible impractical solution to our families needs and began authoring a educational trust for blue collar family without any future academics, as if he was designing a Trust for his own family. Next we are to split assets in equal portions and sell off the family home. This attorney has perverted sense of family values and fairness to appease the laws in place that control Trusts in California. If anyone challenges the worthless weak paper Trusts he sells everything is in compliance with what the State of California bad laws tell families what to do with there assets. I tried to consult this attorney about asset protection trusts so our family can do what our father had asked us to do with his Estate, not what the State of California's unconstitutional laws tell us to do. Attorney answered he does not know how to do Asset Protection Trusts. Attorney sells worthless trusts with everything split in equal portions, forces the sale of your estate and authors in his forced college plan for your family. If a Contingency Trust Attorney challenges your Snyder Law Trust on behalf of a family member everything is equal therefore the original Trust survives, but the estate is forced to comply with the BAD laws in California. We asked for a refund of the 1/3 payment well over a $1300 and were refused. I called my Civil Attorney and stated that we felt sickened by Mr.Synder and his lack of experience and ignorance of profession. My civil attorney explained that Mr. Synder was a former State of California Criminal Attorney and he is now doing Trusts. My civil attorney was not successful and getting at getting a refund from Mr.Synder. My elderly mother was given a good screwing from this attorney. Mr.Synder is Moonlighting as a Trust Attorney and refused to serve my family by claiming ignorance to the laws that control trusts and refused to Structure any type of asset protection trust to grant my fathers wishes as he has done for other clients. We got your message "Follow the governments plan for your estate, not your own plan! "We cant serve you". Bad people, no valuable legal advice here just a sales pitch and a legal screwing and way way way overpriced. Minorities do not take your business to this guy he will refuse to serve you and take your money and attempt sell you worthless paper, they also look at you like your a criminal. I have to agree with the other bad reviews on yelp that it appears their interest is themselves. Bad Attorney will not share his knowledge with clients and will draft a basic cookie cutter trust. Don't do business with these people, they will change the design of your Trust from the initial paid consultation by adding complexity that don't fit with your families needs. Once you pay the 1/3 to create the trust your trapped and they force a bad estate plan on you. If you don't like the plan no changes are allowed. Don't pay them a dime outside a consultation, until they present the finished Trust. GREED!!! Stealing from the elderly. No Business Ethics. Shameful individual. Should be disbarred from practice. My Civil attorney who recommended this lawyer refunded my mothers money in full out of his pocket. Mr.Synder has not contacted my civil attorney after repeated attempts. This guy reminds of the Barber in High Plains Drifter, collect all the money up front before any services are rendered. No class, No pedigree. Not a Cultivated Individual. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. Genuinely interested in helping you or themselves? I found this law office through my parish bulletin. I called this office to make a consultation appointment for Estate Planning. I spoke to Carolyn, who runs the office and is also the wife of Mr. Snyder. Carolyn stated that the appointment was going to be in Mr. Snyder's office for 90 minutes and also stated the consultation fee. After this call, but before my appointment date, I found out that this law firm was on my legal insurance plan and wanted to give them my member ID # and also know how to proceed. I called the office and spoke to Lola, I gave her my Insurance information, who said Carolyn would call me back. Carolyn called me back and it didn't go well. The original 90 minutes, office consultation turned to now be a phone call with Mr. Snyder. I also felt so crushed to be questioned, how this insurance was acquired and for what purpose and so on. When I first contacted this office and spoke to Carolyn, I had expressed my lack of trust in an attorney firm. Thinking back it was awkward that the bulletin ad stated parishioner and they are not. I also discovered on the email I received that they require full payment for the consultation in advance before your office visit. This was not mentioned to me any time I spoke to Carolyn. This was a really bad experience for me and I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

I am surprised this law firm has so many positive reviews. I have to agree with the other review by Miriam that it appears their interest is themselves. I also spoke with Carolyn. It was a total waste of time, very terrible experience. I called for one thing, she kept trying to sell me another entirely different service that I do not need. I tried to find out how much it would cost for something straight forward that my mom needs. She kept trying to sell me will/trust for myself that I already have done after she learned that I have legal plan which doesn't cover for family members. She wanted me to use my legal plan allowance to schedule a full consultation charging me just to tell me the pricing. She refused to give me an estimate for something simple without charging my legal plan and said maybe my case would be cheaper by hourly (even though their own website states "Everything we do is billed on a flat-fee basis, agreed to in advance. No hourly fees. No hidden costs. No surprises." Not the impression I got on the phone....) I then ask how much they charge hourly, she refuse to tell me that too and continue to insist on me scheduling for an one hour appointment. Because of the high previous reviews and location, the law firm would have likely earned my business had they just provided me with an estimate instead of trying to sell me services that I don't need and try to bill me to just get pricing. They definitely lost a business because of Carolyn's tactic. read more

i was looking for a post trust adminstration attorney regarding disposition of trust real estate. i Yelped a few attorneys and Snyder Law was one of the respondents. Attorney Snyder set up a free phone consultation through his website. The meeting was easy to setup and Atty. Snyder called me right on time. I explained my situation and he made a few recommendations, which i will pursue.
