This is the only response I could get from management. They seem to never be in when I called, no matter the time. They must work from home.

Booked a room and had to cancel because the ferry broke down. They still took the full fee out of my account. They said it's not their problem because I could have drIven the six hours around Puget sound to get there. I would recommend that nobody ever book there if there is even the slightest shame you can't make it. Sincerely Dissatisfied

Very basic motel rooms. Staff were very charming and pleasant as we checked in, and they appear to be taking COVID very seriously. I give them high marks for that. Lots of parking - although getting into the lot from the main road can be slightly challenging. The road splits into 3 right there, and there is a tricky intersection just where you need to turn in. We had to go around and try it from another angle. Room was furnished in 1980s-ish style, with clean but slightly worn furniture. Comfy mattress, but not enough pillows. Sheets are clean. Rather stingy number of towels. Flat screen TV with decent choice of channels. No A/C. Tiny fridge (although adequate for a couple of bottles of wine ;-) and tiny microwave. Small coffee maker. Apparently there is a free Continental breakfast in the morning. There is a pool and a hot tub in a separate building overlooking their small, nicely tended lawn. I think it is closed due to the virus. Room had a slightly musty scent when we walked in. We left the window open and sprayed some deodorant around, and the funk cleared. This is a non-smoking property - the smell was not smoke. Just age, I think. The view from 2nd floor rooms is fantastic - out across the main drag and to water, with forested cliffs beyond. At the price, this is an absolutely fine motel. If you would like anything that could be considered "fancy" or "upscale" or "quaint," or if you want extras like A/C, extended channels on the cable, or charming/chic/Victorian decor, pay a few more bucks and stay elsewhere.

Small town Hotel that's very convenient to downtown Port Townsend- sure it's a bit outdated... but if you try to book a room in the summer... rates are very high everywhere- don't expect a modern room and you'll be fine - I'll stay again

A beautiful view from the deck.

So first and foremost.. i read the reviews and almost passed it by but as this was a spur of the moment stay...I decided to go ahead and book.. very impressive, considering the cost.. I was worried it would be a dive since the price was so cheap but much to my surprise, it was quite charming and VERY CLEAN!!! The bed was comfortable and the heater worked great.. they even had a fan, which is something thats a must for me.. a little fridge and HUGE tv.. you are just blocks away from everything.. yes the pool and hot tub were shut down but that's not there fault (its the guy who thinks he runs our state - I didn't vote for him ).. overall it has been a great experience and would probably stay here again, if I stayed in Port Townsend

We came here December 2020 to get away after a tragic loss. When we first came it wasn't much. It was honestly one of the cheapest places we could find to run away to. We came back 12/2021 and they updated their bathroom counter and shower curtain! We also just found out they have a room with a giant tub facing a window that shows the water. That will definitely be our next room! They have a microwave a mini fridge that does make some noise and an adorable mini coffee maker. The heater works super great! Kept us warm! There's a beautiful spot next to the Wells Fargo across the street you can walk to and just sit at the beach or walk around! There's 2 food stores around the corner walking distance as well. (To be honest the whole town is almost walking distance) The staff was super friendly both times we came and saw we had stayed there before which was super nice to be recognized! Cleaning ladies are kind as well! I asked for an extra bag of coffee and cup for the road. There are many hotels closer to downtown port Townsend that we've seen and maybe thought to stay at but this place still has a hold on us. Their pool is still closed but they do have wifi and a lot of close parking. Top floor near the light house side has great views!

This place is such a disappointment. I'm not overly critical or fancy but this place is expensive garbage. I can handle over priced. I can handle out dated. A/C can be expensive and remodels are time consuming. I understand it can cost a lot but the things that can be controlled are grossly ignored. This isn't quaint or homey. This isn't like staying at your grandmas house with the charm dated decoration. It's a trailer park that's filled with garage sale items. This place was not clean. The amenities are completely subpar and cheap. They didn't turnover our room today even though we left the room at 9 am and came back at 3pm. The curtains don't actually cover the windows so lots of very early light. The fan they provide is really dirty. Exposed outlets and power strips everywhere. The towels are like hand-me-downs from a gym. Bed and pillow are garbage and uncomfortable. The shower is inoperable and you will either freeze or burn due to outdated faucet and valves. The only two exterior hallways in the joint are filled with bugs and spiders that could be cleaned very easily but makes this look like an abandoned building. Rusty mirror in the bathroom. Bedside lamp with a shade that won't stay on. Our ice bucket was wet before we got here. They keep the drinking cups above the toilet so that's delicious. We didn't do breakfast today but it looked pretty pitiful. Might check it out tomorrow. We came here with the kid for a weekend getaway to relax and let him play in the pool. They advertise a heated pool but the pool is cold as balls. The building is nice and since the average age of patrons here is 103, we had the pool area to ourselves. The fact they charge $150+ a night is embarrassing. I've never stayed anywhere else here but next trip will either be a day trip or staying somewhere else.

The curtains are barely covering the outsides, and this is the gap in the middle.

We stayed in room 6. It's an old Victorian house with a number of antique artifacts including instruments, guns, books, etc. There is no elevator - you have to climb the stairs to get to your room or downstairs to the billiards table & guest fridge. The innkeeper is extremely sweet. She welcomed us in and explained about the house. At 9am (prompt), she serves breakfast, which was a delight! It was a full 3 course meal - everything home-made (or from a local bakery). Honestly, the breakfast here was better than our dinner at a restaurant the night before! Our room was very cute - it looked like the inside of a doll house. For my husband, who is a tall man (6'2), he felt a bit claustrophobic because the ceiling comes inwards. But for my 5' self, I didn't mind. Everything was clean and had a nice presentation. They even had home-made cookies waiting! We really enjoyed our stay, and it was nice to have a sit down breakfast with the other guests and chat together. There's also a sweet doggo named Ursa who you may see putter around. Loved this place!…read more I'm giving 4 stars, but in reality, it is 4.5. Location: The location is great. You're located downtown and can walk to any shop or eatery in the area. The parking location for hotel guest is odd and in reality, can only fit two cars. So, just find a spot, park it and leave it. Take advantage and walk everywhere. The Digs: There's no attendant, so you need to book in advance with the lovely manager, Marilou. She really cares about the hotels she manages and truly wants your stay to be a memorable one. Upon arrival you will get codes for both the building and your room. Speaking of the room, when you enter, you are greeted by music playing on the radio and a few lights on. A nice, simple touch, especially after a long day of traveling. The old hotel is super clean and cozy, yet modern. It almost feels like you're staying at a friends house. This is definitely a gem in Port Townsend and I would not hesitate to stay here again. The minor "constructive criticisms" that I have are to give a good corner scrubbing along the baseboards in the bathroom and to keep the soap and shampoo fairly full to give the "illusion" that your guests are the first ones to stay there.

[Note: no extra plush blankets provided, but the in-room heater was good]. Reviews of the water front motels in Port Townsend mentioned bed bugs which scared me and led me to book here. You should think about staying at Mansera Castle if you like character and history because the building has a palpable sense of olden times built into the architecture, the creaky stairs, the narrower door frames, and the oldest working elevator in the state (it's a bit like a freight elevator with brocade dressing). However, the lack of accessible entryway (a flight of steep stairs to get inside) and an antique elevator that is only operable by hotel staff should warn off people with limited mobility, injuries etc. I used the wonderful WiFi for a night of iPad entertainment while toasty under the covers. It was a fun experience for a night, but it might have been louder had the hotel been full. Nearing Christmas, the hotel staff had decorated the erstwhile Victorian-era wealthy resident's home parlor. This was rather charming to see and definitely not replicable in a sterile, modern hotel chain. This vast building was subsequently used as a Jesuit boarding house for decades. The hotel amenities are barebones relative to a modern hotel chain where you might expect a writing desk fitted with desk lamps, and numerous outlets, etc. My room came with TV, refrigerator, a coffee machine and insufficient wall outlets.
