The Port Townsend Inn is a budget motel and it has been around a while. However, we had an enjoyable stay and were comfortable in our room and the area. The room was clean, and the air conditioning worked well, which was nice because it was a couple of hot days. There was ample parking, and the motel was within half a mile of the charming downtown area. This is well within walking distance for us, but if you choose to drive there are lots of parking options closer, and you can catch a ferry downtown. There were many dining options, including pizza, Thai, homestyle, breakfast, coffee shops, ice cream, etc. Lots of shopping and art shops, also. The check-in process was easy, and the staff were nice. Although the carpet on the walkway outside the doors was worn, housekeepers were cleaning the lighting fixtures and dusting under the walkway roof, which tells me they care about keeping the environment clean. The carpet and fixtures in our room were in good shape and worked well. The pool and spa are out of commission because they are doing renovations, but there is a nice green area downstairs from the pool building, which was good for our dog to stretch his legs and relieve himself. read more

Stayed here for one night in May 2004. The room was a bit rundown. The carpet was obviously old. Once I pulled back the bed, there was hair and dirt on the bed and pillowcases. I quickly went to the front desk let them know what was going on and they had given me new sheets to put on the bed which I did myself. They told me that housekeeping was not there which I thought is weird. The next day I communicated to the front desk that I wanted to email the manager detailing my experience, including pictures to hopefully receive a discount. I emailed twice and never heard back. The customer service and quality experience is absolutely in need of repair. I would not recommend staying here. read more

They said it's not their problem because I could have drIven the six hours around Puget sound to get there. Very basic motel rooms. Staff were very charming and pleasant as we checked in, and they appear to be taking COVID very seriously. I give them high marks for that. Lots of parking - although getting into the lot from the main road can be slightly challenging. The road splits into 3 right there, and there is a tricky intersection just where you need to turn in. We had to go around and try it from another angle. Room was furnished in 1980s-ish style, with clean but slightly worn furniture. Comfy mattress, but not enough pillows. Sheets are clean. Rather stingy number of towels. Flat screen TV with decent choice of channels. No A/C. Tiny fridge (although adequate for a couple of bottles of wine ;-) and tiny microwave. Small coffee maker. Apparently there is a free Continental breakfast in the morning. There is a pool and a hot tub in a separate building overlooking their small, nicely tended lawn. I think it is closed due to the virus. Room had a slightly musty scent when we walked in. We left the window open and sprayed some deodorant around, and the funk cleared. This is a non-smoking property - the smell was not smoke. Just age, I think. The view from 2nd floor rooms is fantastic - out across the main drag and to water, with forested cliffs beyond. At the price, this is an absolutely fine motel. If you would like anything that could be considered "fancy" or "upscale" or "quaint," or if you want extras like A/C, extended channels on the cable, or charming/chic/Victorian decor, pay a few more bucks and stay elsewhere. read more

This inn is falling apart. I think the only thing holding up this building is the amount of paint they've used on it to cover up its flaws and cracks. The top floor is caving as if it's about to fall. The walls are paper thin so you can actually hear what's going on in the next room so if you want to get some sleep don't go there. They had some very friendly staff that worked there and no longer work there. I'm just wondering what's really going on with that inn? It's a terrible place to stay it might be cheap but that's exactly what it is cheap. Port townsend Inn has bedbugs. They don't care one iota.. tge manager said well he's had the floors cleaned and hasn't has problems in q4 years... well that's utter BS. I had to stay here for almost 2 weeks spent over 2k.. I started getting bites 4 days ago? But last night was the worst way more I woke with 2 more near my eye and left eye completely swollen. Most people here that work here are very kind but keyena one of the front desk staff as well as the hotel manager were horrible they don't care don't want to do a damn thing. They don't care but especially the hotel manager owner he could care less. Socks to be treated this way. Socks to have so many bedbug bites. People do better. Stayed one night. We were on the first floor and could hear every step taken by the folks above us. The bathroom sink stopper was stuck in the closed position and we had to rig it to keep it open. I was worried it would be a dive since the price was so cheap but much to my surprise, it was quite charming and VERY CLEAN!!! The room was as advertised. Basic. Upon check out I was sure to leave a tip for housekeeping but had I known that my belongings would disappear I might have thought otherwise. I left a kimono style dressing gown on the bed but as soon as I got home and unpacked I called Crystal to tell her I forgot it. She claims no one found it but I find that odd. Not at all what I expected. It was just ok. Port Townsend is still stuck in 2020 & scared to death of Covid!!! The pool is shut down for Covid. Jacuzzi shut down for Covid. No breakfast... you guessed it... Covid! So ya basically get a crappy run down room- with 3 mini pillows on an old mattress! Don't expect much. I wish I had read the reviews before booking! Also they're incredibly worried about Covid here! But won't give you soap to wash your hands or shampoo either! Makes no sense. read more

I have stayed at Grand Hyatts, Air BNB, dives, Best Westerns, Disney Grand California and places close to the Bates Motel. I have done it all. I am not overly picky but I need CLEAN. This place was clean. It is run down and old but it is CLEAN. Don't expect luxury accomodations, you wont find them anywhere in Port Townsend actually, and you won't be disappointed. What you will find is ridiculously overpriced summer peak prices. I paid 144 for this room and anywhere else it wouldn't rent for more than 79. Way overdone price wise but not a lot of choices for PT. Easy self parking, easy check in, and easy access to your room. Bed was comfortable, pillows were lumpy (bring your own if you can). Super friendly service from Mary - very nice. It loses a few stars because there was no air conditioning and we were not offered a fan. It felt like we were sleeping in a sauna. Difficult to do, at best. They should have fans in the office and offer them during summer months or at least let you know when booking to bring one of your own. The pool was nice (albeit cold but kiddo didn't mind). The hottub was perfect temperature and nice to soak in after a day of hiking and exploring, but they both close at 930pm which seems silly since it is detached from the motel rooms and noise from the pool wouldn't be likely to be heard from the rooms across the parking lot. They lose a star for housekeeping being super loud vacuuming in the hallways early in the morning. I am not a late sleeper but I got woke up to vacuuming in the hallway outside our room at 0830. We are on vacation, come on. We cant speak for the continental breakfast as we didn't partake. So, my verdict? I might stay here again off peak but I wouldnt pay 144 again. read more

They deserve zero stars. Old MOTEL. The rooms stink of old cigarettes and cheap air freshener. If you try to get your money back because of the terrible smell, you'll be out of luck. The management doesn't care how disgusting their rooms are. Total waste of money! There's a pool but it's closed. They list breakfast service but they don't actually serve breakfast. Nothing fancy but perfectly clean and comfortable. My room had a good-size refrigerator and a microwave as well as the usual coffee maker. The towels are skimpy but they will give you extra. I have stayed here several times in the past and will do so in the future. read more

We came here December 2020 to get away after a tragic loss. When we first came it wasn't much. It was honestly one of the cheapest places we could find to run away to. We came back 12/2021 and they updated their bathroom counter and shower curtain! We also just found out they have a room with a giant tub facing a window that shows the water. That will definitely be our next room! They have a microwave a mini fridge that does make some noise and an adorable mini coffee maker. The heater works super great! Kept us warm! There's a beautiful spot next to the Wells Fargo across the street you can walk to and just sit at the beach or walk around! There's 2 food stores around the corner walking distance as well. (To be honest the whole town is almost walking distance) The staff was super friendly both times we came and saw we had stayed there before which was super nice to be recognized! Cleaning ladies are kind as well! I asked for an extra bag of coffee and cup for the road. There are many hotels closer to downtown port Townsend that we've seen and maybe thought to stay at but this place still has a hold on us. Their pool is still closed but they do have wifi and a lot of close parking. Top floor near the light house side has great views! read more

This place is such a disappointment. I'm not overly critical or fancy but this place is expensive garbage. I can handle over priced. I can handle out dated. A/C can be expensive and remodels are time consuming. I understand it can cost a lot but the things that can be controlled are grossly ignored. This isn't quaint or homey. This isn't like staying at your grandmas house with the charm dated decoration. It's a trailer park that's filled with garage sale items. This place was not clean. The amenities are completely subpar and cheap. They didn't turnover our room today even though we left the room at 9 am and came back at 3pm. The curtains don't actually cover the windows so lots of very early light. The fan they provide is really dirty. Exposed outlets and power strips everywhere. The towels are like hand-me-downs from a gym. Bed and pillow are garbage and uncomfortable. The shower is inoperable and you will either freeze or burn due to outdated faucet and valves. The only two exterior hallways in the joint are filled with bugs and spiders that could be cleaned very easily but makes this look like an abandoned building. Rusty mirror in the bathroom. Bedside lamp with a shade that won't stay on. Our ice bucket was wet before we got here. They keep the drinking cups above the toilet so that's delicious. We didn't do breakfast today but it looked pretty pitiful. Might check it out tomorrow. We came here with the kid for a weekend getaway to relax and let him play in the pool. They advertise a heated pool but the pool is cold as balls. The building is nice and since the average age of patrons here is 103, we had the pool area to ourselves. The fact they charge $150+ a night is embarrassing. I've never stayed anywhere else here but next trip will either be a day trip or staying somewhere else. read more

If you don't love this hotel, Port Townsend isn't for you anyways. It's fairly basic. It's quaint. It's affordable. But the hospitality, the experience, the guidance and excitement for those who want to experience the town... that is what the peninsula and the northwest is all about. We were accommodated with every request, and with a smile and a genuine sense of making us feel at home. Our room was spotless. Our dog was accommodated at a last minute request. Our kids wanted a morning swim and it was a quiet day so a late check out was granted to us (which obviously won't always be able to happen depending on the bookings for the day)... all in all... this hotel is the picture of Port Townsend, the northwest, and hospitality in general. Privacy. No matter how cheap a room is, you at least want that. You won't get it here. When we arrived late, and the office was closed, they left our room unlocked so we could get in. The first thing we discovered is that the curtain isn't big enough to cover the whole window. We slept next to a window everyone could look in as they walked by. You can hear everything the neighbors say, and they can hear every word you say. At times it sounded like they were in our bathroom. Be careful in the shower! It can go from scalding to freezing. If you care about who you're here with don't use the sink or toilet while someone is in the shower and pray that no one else next door is. OOOOOOUCH! Look, I don't expect much from a cheap room, but this place is so low end that no room should be above $80. During the busy season. $135 is unbelievable. I had a wonderful time here. The front desk staff were warm, courteous, and knowledgeable. My room was well-appointed and the water pressure was great, which is always a plus. My favorite is the indoor pool, hot tub, and deck with a view. I would have spent even more time there, but there are many fun things to do in PT. (Go check out the Food Co-Op right down the street!) Good value for your money here, and they provide a continental breakfast as well. Parking was easy. I highly recommend this friendly establishment, and PT is awesome read more

The floors are creaky and the walls are thin. We could even hear their alarm clock go off! The pictures were crooked and there was mold on the window sill, just to name a few examples of what makes this place so dingy. I would only stay here again if there was literally nowhere else. I was charged 25% more than you would pay if I had just walked in and got a room, don't get through booking.com rip you off I paid $255.29 and the price at the desk $179.00 They don't have air conditioning in any of the rooms and today it's 82 degrees very hot in the room. The pool is ice cold and the hot tub is too hot for more than a couple minutes. I had the only room with a hot tub but not worth the extra $100 the sofa in my room is so dirty that we had to cover it with pool towels. When you say something to receptionist they say oh I'll tell the owner, in 1 ear and out the other I stayed in many hotels and motels and this was my worst stay ever. This is the worst place ever. My niece was gonna stay there and her baby was crawling on the floor and pulled out this box from under the bed. They wouldn't give her a refund and even said that spiders are normal and get over it. he even called the cops and the cops told her there is nothing they can do. Yes spiders are normal but not like this. If this trap is killing spiders then what's killing them is poisonous and if the baby can get to the that easy then that's not save. Hell at the very least clean trap once in a while. I wouldn't even give this a one star. Definitely don't stay here. read more

We could literally hear the person in one room eating chips. Being woke up numerous times by the people on both sides of us having sex was so loud that I'm assuming that "oh god mike" had a good night. 2.) sleeping on the floor would have probably been more comfortable. These "new beds" were a waste of hotel money. 3.)The picture of the pool is deceiving. Nothing at this hotel correlates to the look of the pool picture. 4.)The only thing nice about this hotel is the lady that checked us in. Fortunately we were able to get our money back for the next night because there was no way my husband and I would have had another back breaking, porno hearing night. Don't stay here Worst excuse for a motel in town They had an extremely young and unprofessional girl checking me in, multiple credit card swipes required, blaming me for their issues. Finally got a room, dirty, smells like a dog and burning paper, asked for a different room, sassy response. Too much light coming through window with blinds that don't shut, noisy street traffic, aaaand it butts up against a neighborhood with a barking dog, and the water from the tap tastes brackish. To top it off, I went down to book another night and the new receptionist wouldn't let me stay because of some unknown reason (likely because I asked to switch rooms), and I ended up staying at the second cheapest place in PT, the Aladdin and it was actually waaaaaaay better. Beautiful view, quiet, free tea, water was good, etc. I am just passing on the bad vibes from Port Townsend in to earn anyone interested in the cheapest place in Port Townsend. The rooms may be "clean" but their definition of clean is not mine - they have a foul oder, are ancient and actually creepy. 2. There was no shower head in the shower. You couldn't have paid me to take a shower in the stall that was there. 3. Beds are extremely uncomfortable. I contemplated moving to my car around 3AM after tossing and turning all night. 4. Back to the cleanliness of the rooms -- two spiders and one large moth. 5. Wifi? Really? Barely reached room 21 that I was in ... I had to be close to the door (which was filthy) in order to receive any coverage. 6. Not what I'm used to staying at when I am on business or actually personal travel. I stayed here because my customer was close by and all the major chain hotels are well over an hour away. I needed a place to sleep and work from and this was fairly sufficient. The room was clean, FYI if you stay there during a heat wave there is no AC!!!! Don't even know if they have a way to heat the rooms during the cold months. It's basic and functional for the traveler that isn't into the major hotels. My biggest complaint during my stay was the lack of food delivery to me, I work all day at the customer location and then need to work from my hotel at night so this is not a good area for business travelers to use. read more

Just checked in with my girlfriend for our anniversary. This place seems to get a bad rep, we just thoroughly checked out the room and pool and amenities. Everything in our room is really clean given that it's an inn, it's even quite spacious for two. The bed is pristine and the bathroom is spotless. Even the pool is super duper clean. I appreciate the care they have given the room especially. We brought our own bedding not knowing what to expect but are only using the pillows to make it more homey. The only reason this isn't a 5 is because I feel it doesn't leave room for debate. As far as I'm concerned and what I've seen it's perfectly acceptable and the staff is really nice. read more

I stayed here 10 years ago and for some reason remember it better before. The rooms are larger then normal but the look has a lot to be desired and the security was cheap. The door locks were the cheap ones you bought 10 years ago for your home. Basic door handle and dead bolt (which worked only from the inside). The bathroom was out dated and needs work bad. Had old medicine slide shelf under mirror, shower curtain that was too thin for the shower so the outside curtain got all wet along with the floor. Then the towel rack within reach of the shower was broken (pieces still in wall but not enough to reassemble), so you have to get out of the shower onto a wet towel on the ground and reach over the toilet (which is the only place to keep your clothes) to reach a towel. The breakfast was nothing special. Basic muffins, toast (white bread only), bagels, and danishes from Costco style store. It is the cheapest place in town at over $120 a night. The view is over the parking lot and a block away (assuming you have no fog). Stay somewhere else, the prices are worth it!! read more

I don't know how this place got any decent reviews. I thought it would be dated, but fine for the one night we needed. We let the kids go to the bathroom after the long drive and decided this was not the place for us. It was not cleaned well at all. Cobwebs everywhere, we even found THC garbage under the mattress. It is old, run down, and dingy. There was also a giant puddle of water in the bathroom. The smoke detector was also missing. It wasn't even worth getting another room, I just wanted to be as far away as possible. The drive had already been hectic--I didn't need more stress. Seems like an "hourly" motel, if you catch my drift. The only good thing I have to say about the place is the check in was easy and the lady there was nice. Didn't get to check out the breakfast or the pool as we immediately booked a much nicer room down the street for the same price. TLDR: wouldn't recommend.
