This is a decent laundry mat. I am glad that I read some reviews ahead of time that pointed out the shredded clothes. I made sure to use the dryers that had very smooth drums and my clothes were perfect. This place is very clean. Well, sickening clean. I hate excess use of cleaning supplies. Can't stand the smell, to it was like I fell into a tub of pine-sol. Whatever, I'd rather they be clean than the opposite like some of the places I typically use. My boyfriend likes that they have coffee and snacks and free wifi. The cost to do a load varies and you have to wait a bit to use the smaller machines (being single means smaller loads). We didn't mind. We just chilled, people watched, caught some Pokemon and got clean clothes. It works. read more

staff is horrible. there were two members behind the counter. one was taking care of the person in front of me & the other was sitting down. instead of helping me next , the staff member walked to the back and sat down. the ONLY reason the other member got up to "help" me was because she saw me looking at her co-worker before locking eyes with her. I asked for the key to the bathroom and she insisted someone was already in there then just walked off. I know that no one was in there because I was watching the door & I knocked before trying to enter. now , did this happen because I'm black ? probably so. Got a broken washing machine. My clothes came out soaking wet. I notified the desk. The woman working the desk refused to let me change machines and blamed me (my other two loads from separate machines came out fine). Made me wait another 40 minutes for it to happen again. some of the machines are not working properly. The machine (16) does not mark the right number of coins put in, even thought the coins are put in slowly. I told the staff and she told me that I have to be careful when I put the coins when I told her the machine didnt read the right correct among of coins. I have a laundromat across the street but it closes very early. I love this place for when I have to wash stuff late. There are plenty of machines available always. There is a free parking lot as well. Overall the place is clean especially for how busy it gets. Machines are very clean as well. What a HORRIBLE place!!! The washers do not count all of your quarters so you end up putting more for them to start. The dryer's are even worst. You have to put 5 quarters in one dryer and your clothes are still damp. Do not get me started on customer service. That SUCKS. It's also very dirty. The staff doesn't clean during their shift. I would give it zero stars, but I'm unable to.... the machines break down and no one puts a sign on them, to find out 32 minutes LATER that the machine does not spin!!! Then the attending lady tells me that I have to wait another full cycle in order for the clothes to spin... She said we'll pay for it... Love this place. I use their drop off laundry service, costs $0.90 a pound. Cash only pay when you drop off. Got me my stuff back same day, dropped off before work ready for me on the way home. They are open 24hrs. Gave them a random assortment of stuff including towels, bras, underwear, sweaters, a lot of single socks and a few pairs etc. everything came back, washed and folded nicely, they even matched the socks that had pairs (considering most all them were single socks), hung the bras out to dry and put my nice sweaters on metal hangers with a plastic covering rather than just folding them. read more

This the best laundromat I've ever been to. - Tons of machines in a variety of sizes. - Tons of double-stacked dryers covering the walls. - 99.9% of the machines and dryers are working. - 99.9% of The Soap Box staff are working too, surprise! - Folding tables a-plenty. - Change machines that don't short change you. - Snacks/drinks available at reasonable prices - Soap/bags/fabric softener sold on premises. - Benches and chairs everywhere for relaxing. - TVs not all tuned to Spanish soap operas/volume not jacked up to 1000. - Laundry carts are abundant and not being used by children as makeshift Go-Karts. - Two entrances/exits with power doors - Private (spacious) parking lot - Crazy-good greasy spoon next door to get your fastfood eat on. The only drawback is that families tend to let their children run wild in here, so you have to be careful not to run over little ones laying all over the floor while transferring your laundry from washer to dryer. What can I say about this place expect there always busy. I've tried to go in the evening, early day time, and mid afternoon. For the most part it's clean. I always end up finding fabric softer stains and I don't use it!!. I stared only washing linens and my boyfriends work clothes because of this. A lot of my review will be similar to others, but these highlights are worth noting a second, even third time. If you're like me, you absolutely hate the laundromat. You may even fear it like I once did. But all previous conceptions about the laundromat will be thrown to the wind when you visit Soap Box. No matter what the holiday (or season, for that matter) Soap Box will be dressed to the nines with decorations and festive wonders. I mean, they REALLY like to decorate. They have a variety of machine sizes so it doesn't matter if you're a single person doing a load or a family of six, they will have a washer that accommodates you. I do often go off hours (very late 10-11pm or very early 5-6am) to avoid crowds, but even at noon on a Sunday you will see plenty of washers/dryers open. The staff is very friendly and helpful and am always interested in using their "drop off service" because I get lazier by the minute. The free coffee is a nice touch and they play a variety of programs on their televisions. Bonus: Taco Bell/Burger King/Dunkin Donuts & Baskin Robins are all 2-blocks away, Subway is 1-block away, and McDonald's is right around the corner. I'm very upset I went here to wash clothes like I have been for years each time spending at Least $40. This last time I was there was this past Thursday using 7 driers total . One of them my clothes were still damp I put two more quarters in the end that's for 24 minutes I was right by the machines folding not even 8 minutes go by the drier stops I tell one of the workers she said her name was Maria , she called me a liar and said if I don't like it I could leave. I was shocked I've been a loyal customer for years I just spent $40 why would I lie about 25 cents! She didn't even look at the machine called me a liar and walked away: I am never going there again. Nice machines, clean, large. However, there aren't nearly enough folding tables, considering the amount of machines they have. The price of washes are inconsistent. The small machines are overpriced, the large ones are almost underpriced (a definite plus). So, bring lots of clothes and make good use of those big washers! None of the employees/owner (at least at 4am) speak English. I'm not bilingual, so this is a problem for me. Also, a little petty issue: Because there is snow on the ground, parking spaces are impossible to identify; ground signage is obstructed. So, I parked next to the building in, apparently, a NO PARKING space (again, it's 4am). The manager or owner (whomever) insisted I move my car RIGHT AWAY in 2° weather for.... what reason? They barley come in and they start put there baskets and crap on tables and don't allow other to use folding tables & not to mention the carts !?!? Well, the place is nice and plenty of machines. The only problem is that their dryers are jacked up, so they ruin good clothes. My boyfriend came with me to wash and his clothes got kinda shredded. He uses expensive running shorts that are thin to keep him cool and the dryer pulled the treads. To make it even worse, he mentioned it to the person in charge just as a heads up and the older man just said "it's not my problem" and walked away. So rude! I wouldn't recommend this place for nice clothes, maybe rugs and heavy duty stuff. read more

I like to call this place the carnival. Many times, more often than not actually, when visiting Soap Box for my clean attire desires, I find myself lost in a sea of decorations which on any given holiday would probably out-do the decorations on my entire block. They have 55 lb washers which I absolutely love because I really do loathe sitting at the laundromat, much less loading and unloading small piles of clothes in and out of multiple washers. Cons of this place have to be that they keep the AC on arctic blast at all times, and the parking is cramped - sometimes impossible because there seems to be a 2 spot to 1 car ratio there on most nights. But they are open 24 hours, and incredibly convenient since they are also located next to the gym, so getting a quick run in between loads is a great alternative to arctic boredom. read more

Excellent service! It is fully serviced by very helpful staff who walk around and help you. Cheap prices, and the best part, no quarters! You simply get a card, and put money on it, then insert the card in the machines. Great for all washing needs and also has dry cleaning and normal washing services. Also free wifi! read more

Dropped off my laundry...Brought my own soap and fabric softener...the proceeded to use a 12 load bottle of Tide for two loads and added thier own fabric softner!!! My clothes reeked of perfumes and soap! They said the amount of soap used was normal...And entire bottle...I use two capfulls!!! Never again! read more

I wanted to take some time and share with everyone my experience at this laundromat. I visited this place for the first time a few days ago and I have to say it was not my best experience. When I do laundry I want to get in and get out as soon as I can without being bothered. My first problem was with the constant disturbance of vendors. Although this location has signs posted that vendors are not allowed on premise. This does not stop the constant flow of people trying to sell their items which range from cooked food to socks and everything in between! Secondly, their change machines are a rip off! I inserted a $20 bill into the change machine and I was dispensed $10 in quarters, when i finally tracked down the one attendant she was rude and spoke very little english. She made me fill out a claim for and showed me an entire cork board full of claim forms! Apparently the owner of this establishment has decided that he will do nothing about his short changing coin machines! Several dozen people on a daily basis are ripped off by these machines. I was instructed by the spanish-speaking attendant that the owner would be in the following day to review the security cameras and issue all the refunds. I came over again the following day and the new equally rude, non-english speaking attendant now changes the story and advised that the owner only reviews the cameras for refunds every 15 DAYS! I was sooo frustrated! I asked her for a name and a phone number where I can reach the owner or the manager. I was advised by the attendant that she did not know the name of the owner! REALLY LADY? You dont know the name of the person who signs your paycheck??? She furthermore stated that they did not have a number for me to call either and if I wanted a refund I would have to come to the laundromat first thing in the morning - because that is when the owner shows up for his daily rounds. GUESS WHAT LADY? Most people have to work! And do not have the time to miss a morning to track down the crook owner of the establishment that employs you! IF YOU DONT KNOW WHO HE IS... HOW WILL I KNOW? She stated, all she knew was that his name is Jesse. Well Jesse, if you are reading this - It doesnt matter how clean or presentable your business is, how many wonderful washers or dryers you have, how wonderful decorated your facility is or that you are open 24 hours with free coffee and WIFI, if you choose to employ people who cannot relate to others or have absolutely no problem resolution skills or ability to access someone who can then you are in the wrong business! I for one will never let you have another quarter of my hard earned money and I will make sure that noone I know will do so either! read more
