My daughter was invited to a soap making birthdays party at Soap Des Jour and she was very excited about it. It's located in Desert Ridge Marketplace, right across from Victoria Secret. For the party, they got to make several soaps, all different shapes and smells. There was a whole bar of molds for them to use. Everything is very colorful and pretty. The party was set up so cute and made it very easy for the family to have the kind of party they wanted to have there. The age of the group was 10-11 year olds and they were a great age for the this kind of activity. I wondered around the front of the showroom for a little bit. So many soaps and candles to look at, all different gifts. Just be aware if you are sensitive to smells, it can be a little overwhelming. read more

I don't usually go here when I visit Desert Ridge, but I decided to stop in tonight and I experienced the BEST costumer service I've ever received. The kind lady in the store, Bella, was extremely helpful and offered us demos of different products. She also was very thoughtful and asked me about my day. If every worker at this store is like Bella, then I definitely recommend checking it out. read more

We had such a blast making soap with my daughter and her friends. They accommodated a group of different age children. It kept them busy for two hours, was a great learning experience and we left with three soaps. I would say it was win win win! read more

I have spent hundreds of dollars at this store and also taken one of their soap classes. We loved this store so much my daughter got a job there. She was having lots of fun getting to know the staff and helping at the store. Well imagine my shock as I watched my daughter receive via text a notice that she was fired for not fitting in with the other girls at the store. It was a gut punch watching her emotionally process the fact that others at the store didn't like her. When my daughter tried to get clarification from the owner about why she was fired, the owner never responded. In my mind, if someone has done something worth being fired for, it probably is a good idea to give them feedback about what it was so they can learn from their mistake. Instead my daughter is left with unanswered questions and has no idea what actually happened. It's my personal opinion that good management gives employees feedback before firing them, thus giving them a chance to correct any mistakes. That doesn't happen here. And in fact, I now suspect that this shop plays favorites amongst their employees. My daughter also said that some of the employees at this location talk negatively about customers and past employees as well (see the other Yelp review by Betty that says the same thing, as well as being unfairly fired). I can no longer support a business that treats their employees in such an negative manner, and I hope to help anyone else coming across this business that might interested in working there as well: fair warning - there's a chance you may be treated in a similar manner as well. read more

I am writing this review on the talented owner/ soap designer and her staff who are so welcoming and friendly when coming into their shop. The store is beautiful and is so inviting. All the items in the store are so beautiful and have made so many great gifts that are unique and also have brought so many smiles to my friends faces as they are truly gifts that you can only find at Clodine Burstin shop! She is generous and kind and is always willing to help with outdid organizations and her shop truly will bring joy to all that enter it. So. This business makes soaps, lotions, body scrubs, you name it. Which we all can agree should be clean/safe/sanitary right? Well apparently the owner of this shop doesn't agree. I've seen people open up products, break the seal, and proceed to touch the product, just for the owner Clodine to then sell the product to someone else. This is disgusting frankly. Also, the owner has no concept of familial/work balance. Future employees beware. She talks crap about employees with one another, and refuses to acknowledge personal struggles that people may have. She fired a coworker 2 days before Christmas Day because he had family responsibilities. That's also disgusting. Overall, the overpriced products can be bought on Etsy from a seller that isn't rude or unsanitary. Hope my review helps. Have a great day & be blessed. read more

There is an option to tip during check out. Retail stores should never ask you to tip. Especially when you're spending $80 on bar soap. Because of that I won't be back. Tipping is for people providing a service. Ringing up bars of soap is not worthy of a tip. read more

Stopped by Desert Ridge with my grandmother to finish our Christmas shopping and stumbled upon this hidden gem! The two of us were like kids in a candy store. The scents are amazing (Casablanca being one of my favorites) and their products are all-natural, organic, and unlike anything I've been introduced to before (such as mineral powders and dry oils). Soup Des Jour is also complimented by its wonderful customer service. Alisia and Morgan have sparkling personalities and were always patient, informative, and unobtrusive. I highly recommend dropping by for some last minute stocking stuffers this season and requesting either of these ladies to help you find the perfect fit! read more

I walked in there just to look around and Madi, the kind girl working the lobby was very friendly and welcoming to us. She helped explain everything and was super nice and very good at making this a great experience. The bath bombs we purchased was great and so was the chapstick she recommended. I visited the store last weekend and received amazing service. Karina was so knowledgeable and nice. The Soaps this company makes are not like anything I have ever experienced. We went to the mall to look at jewelry for prom, but we found love instead. We found love at Soap Des Jours. We found it in a tall skinny boy named Jesse, who smiled at us as we walked by and gently asked: "Would you like a sample?" Normally we would just walk past something like that, and forget about it, but we couldn't forget. We walked by again and again, trying to regain the courage to ask for a sample. We probably looked crazy. But he kept his cool. He was kind, and smiled at us. He is a fantastic sales associate. His magnetic appearance and personality encouraged us to sample your soap.
