Robin is a staff member at this business and was amazingly helpful and kind! I absolutely loathe going to laundromat, but I never place my comforters and/or bedspreads in my own machine, therefore, the need to visit this establishment. Robin made my visit very pleasant! This establishment does quite a bit of drop off laundry service, three staff members were busy folding and ironing laundry for customers. For individuals who opt for self-serve washing and drying, they have a variety of different sized washing machines, and an entire wall of new dryers. All the machines are wiped down after each load and appear super clean. The cost is reasonable for the self-serve washing/drying. I did not inquire about the drop-off service so I am unable to provide insight on that service. They offer two coin machines, as well as vending machines and an ATM. The staff informed me that they are completely remodeling the business, they are adding six new big washing machines (60 lb and 80 lb load capacity), they are putting in new flooring, painting, closing off the back right section (which is where they will be performing the drop-off service tasks of folding, ironing, and bagging laundry. They are also going to add a patio table outside of the entrance and changing the name to "The Laundry Room". The remodel should be completed by the end of June 2025. When I need external laundry services I will definitely return to this business. read more

Easiest and friendliest drop off laundry in town. Every spring, I take my thicker winter linen and jackets. Price is always decent ($1.25lb) Recently got a upgrade outside and name change (The Laundry Room) so it's pretty modern outside but looks the same inside. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do, like today when I had to use a laundromat. You can't wash towels by hand. This was close enough and reviews were positive. The machines are coin operated. I didn't have enough quarters ($3.50), but I had a few singles to use the change machine. There's an ATM, but usage is with a fee. Had two bedspreads that needed to be cleaned, I dropped them off and was told they would be ready in about two hours, got a text right on time telling me they were ready for pick-up. I am VERY pleased with how they look, better than I could have hoped as they are not very new. The staff were lovely to work with, will always use them when a need arises in the future. The place is always clean and if you come at the right time, fairly empty. The staff is usually kind and if there's someone there who isn't kind to the customers, they're let go. Here is the negative part: I've outlasted several employees. I've been coming in on Friday Afternoons or Saturday mornings for 2-3 years at this point. And I won't be back after today. I've felt this way for a while now, at least several months. I know it seems silly but Fox News is always on. Employees discuss their political views openly. It has verged on hateful/hate speech. At first I didn't mind the news- I could tune it out. But then election time rolled around. And the feeling of this laundromat being a heavily politicized space became overwhelming. As a gay woman- I don't feel safe there anymore. So I'll be looking to go somewhere else. It's really sad that people can't leave politics out of their business and I wanted the lovely older gentleman who runs the place to know why the place may be a little more empty than usual. The most helpful staff I have ever encountered at a laundromat. I'm a new customer and they treat me like I've been there for years. Not every machine is great, so laundry takes longer the busier it is. That being said, the staff does what they can to get you out of there with clean and dry laundry as fast as possible. read more

After a fire at my Apts laundry room I needed to use a Laundrymat and chose soaps and suds. From beginning to end the gentleman (I'm assuming it was the owner) was TOP NOTCH! He greeted me as I was getting out of my car and offered to help me get my things inside and then helped me locate the washers my laundry required. The whole time I was there they were constantly cleaning, mopping, sweeping, deep cleaning the washers, and of course keeping the dryers vent trays empty after every use!! I had lost track of time and realized that I was the only one left and they were closing in 10 mins about the time that my dryers were to end. Usually people that work there rush you to get you to fold at home so they can leave but not this Gentleman. He was courteous and considerate and allowed me to fold every bit of the 8 dryers I had and didn't say a word!!!! I thanked him repetitively as he was there almost 20 mins past closing time. Come to find out that man lives an hr away and still had to drive home!! Soap and suds went over and above for me to get my laundry done when they didn't have to. The people are friendly, the place is spotless and the Bathrooms are clean too! Thanks for being so self-less, and kind. You really showed you care about the customer and I can't thank you enough!! If I could give less then 1 star I would, older lady with short hair was very rude upon entry of the facility. She approached asking if I was going to do laundry here or just here to steal quarters, and if I was to "get the hell out". I've been here a couple times to wash my comforters since they have 4 really large washers that can do multiple loads. You choose to put in your detergent for pre wash, wash, or final rinse. They have 4 very large dryers as well. It's a bit confusing since for the dryers you pay 25 cents per 15 minutes, not a whole cycle. I've never found it to be super busy on weekends or weekdays, which is nice. There is a TV, a table, and chairs. They also have a machine where you can get quarters and sell detergent. Facility seems clean, I even saw the employees cleaning while I was there. You can wash yourself or have them wash for you. One employee seemed pretty upset when talking with her coworkers, but everyone has a bad deal. My only complaint was the most recent time, my comforter still was a bit crusty, perhaps not all the detergent had washed out. read more

Wow! I love this place. The laundromat is very clean and the people who work here are all very friendly and helpful. When I recently moved to Lexington, I was living in a hotel with my husband, Stephen and our dog while we looked for our next home. The hotel had a small laundromat, but it was always busy because there were only a couple of washing machines and a couple of dryers. Thankfully, I found Soap & Suds. I chose to get the wash and fold service and it was perfect every time. The staff asked what type of soap I preferred, if I had any special requests, and they always exceeded my expectations. Washers and dryers are available in different sizes. Cost is 25 cents for every 5 minutes to dry; I haven't used the washers. I have never personally had an issue with the facilities or services offered at Soap and Suds. I have used both their coin washer services, and their drop off laundry services. I have always found the owner and staff to be friendly and helpful. They have always done everything in their ability to accommodate the different laundry requests I have had. Everything is always clean, the staff is always working, and they keep it as cool as they can fighting the heat and humidity of running all the washers and dryers. I would like to make one point in regards to the negative comment posted on 4/4/16. There is a large difference between using drop off laundry services and a dry cleaner. It seems that the customer who felt they were treated poorly would have been happier if they had taken their clothes to a dry cleaners instead of a wash and fold service. I have never expected a drop off service to read every tag on my clothing, however I would expect that of a dry cleaner. Just a thought ;-) read more

Paid $4.50 to do a single run in a washer. When the cycle was finished clothes were soaking wet, the spin cycle did not work, which is fine. My main reason for giving a one star review was when I told the staff about the problem, they were rude and very unhelpful. read more

I loved this place. The staff was easy going and very friendly. My work partner and I travel a lot and need a wash and fold from time to time. We've seen a lot. This place was by far the nicest,cleanest, most organized. They were also honest. A friend left his travel detergent in his dirty laundry bag causing it to weigh 3 pounds extra. When they weighed the bag the package was in there. When we arrived back they told us what was left in the bag and deducted from the total.
