Seating is seat yourself. Most of the seating is very tight/narrow and is about as wide as a hallway. The longue area is a bit bigger and more spacious but not great views of the beach or sunset. Bathrooms are by the longue area. Come for the sunset views and stay for the drinks/food. If your plan is to come to see the sunset, then you need to get here early in order to get a good seat. Two bars - one in the back by the elevator and one on the other side that faces the beach. There is a ledge type area that allows for more people to stand to look at the beach/sunset. We were told it's best to order your drink/food at the bar and then go sit down to have it brought out to you. Food menu is limited and pricey. We got a crab cake and samba waves (cowboy caviar type dip with wantons). The food was excellent, fresh and good portion size. Drink wise, we were on our babymoon, so I got a mocktail and it was delicious! Bartender made me a raspberry mojito mocktail. The views of the sunset are beautiful considering how high up you are. After the sunset most people got out of there and it was quiet.

I absolutely cannot believe I am the first one writing a review on this place. This bar has been…read moreopened for a year now, and it is the best thing that has happened to Saint Pete. The ambience in this place is magical, the seating area, the decorations, the drinks the service is amazing. We went a little early because we were on our way to a soccer game, however, this did not stop the magic from occurring. I could definitely see how this place could get jampacked with fun during the late night hours. They have a DJ booth set up in the middle of the bar area, the music is a great choice and a perfect vibe! And the drinks that they serve here are phenomenal. You can definitely tell that they have put their heart and soul into these drinks. If you ask for any recommendations, they tailor it to you and definitely pick the best drink on the menu for your taste buds. Their espresso martini has been rated number two this past year and lost first place by two votes , but I definitely think they deserve number one for years to come. This was the best espresso martini that I've ever tasted. The flavor was so smooth they were no complaints. My fiancé even ordered the smoked old fashion, oh my gosh this came out with the perfect presentation. And the flavor was so unique, you must try this place! The only downside is, they aren't serving food currently due to low staffing. But their food menu does look great! I hope they bring this in soon.

Just a quick update to my review to congratulate the place for getting some nice local press…read moreattention: http://www.tampabay.com/restaurants/bar-review-el-agave-gives-tequila-a-well-deserved-star-turn-20190801/ El Agave Bar is a fantastic addition to St Pete Beach that definitely sets itself apart from the completely uninspired Bud Light or Fireball shots dive bars it's surrounded by. If you're looking for a (mostly) tequila-based craft cocktail, or a break from the norm in walking distance from numerous hotels and beach bars, this is definitely the place to go. They're related to the excellent Agave restaurant two doors down in the same building, so certain Agave food items are available here. In any case, I stopped in for some drinks recently and loved everything. I started with their Oaxaca Old Fashioned, which is an orange-tasting mix of tequila, mezcal and bitters. Moved on to The Don; a great margarita. Finally, feeling the need to step it up, I asked for a recommendation on a reasonably priced smooth tequila to sip; the recommended Padre Azul anejo was exactly what I was looking for. The interior has more of a lounge vibe than a bar; lots of group seating areas, a pool table, chess, etc. Now, my six months later update to my original review; I've since ventured into the world of mezcal, and love coming here to find random new mezcals they get in. Mezcal is also produced from the agave plant, but unlike tequila, generally can't be produced in anywhere near the volume, so you aren't going to find it receiving the same attention tequila does, since no distiller could generate enough to keep up with the demand an advertising campaign would bring. I've found I really enjoy a smoky mezcal, straight up or even for an upgraded margarita, and many of the mezcals they serve here can also be purchased in bottle form at the liquor store next door (a family member of the owner owns that store).

This is a 2 star at best. Bad parking to start with. Few tables and a tourist trap restaurant…read more Over priced for below average food. Staff was just ok nothing special. I would rank it with taco bell food quality for 3 times the money.

Review Title: Negligently broke my 36-year sobriety, then laughed at us on the phone…read more On November 23, 2025, I ordered two plain tonic waters, explicitly asking for NO alcohol. The bartender negligently served us drinks loaded with vodka. Because of his carelessness, I tasted alcohol for the first time in over 36 years of hard-earned sobriety. The bartender apologized and promised the drinks were "on the house."Instead, they charged us $66.04. When we called management to fix it, we were only given a partial refund of $27.82, leaving an unauthorized $38.22 charge.Worse than the theft is the staggering cruelty of management. When Mike called to resolve this in January, the manager/owner on the phone literally laughed at us regarding the situation, alongside a room of his friends who joined in the mockery. To treat a severe, dangerous threat to a person's life and recovery as a joke is deeply unhinged. If you are sober, in recovery, or have a medical condition, stay far away from this venue. They do not care about your safety, and they will mock you for it.

It is great place to spend afternoons and evenings with friends. Now, the reason for taking two of the 5 stars go with the following points: -In a busy day the waiting time could be longer than what you may be willing to wait. Due to shortage of staff. -Do not expect food, the usual food truck os not up to the game - No draft Guinness anymore? They pour the can into the Guinness glass (sorry not cool )

Lots of seating options are spread out throughout the different rooms. A couple of games are available to play, including darts, a digital game (maybe golf?) and their version of The Hook and Ring game. They have a full liquor bar with a few beers on tap. I enjoyed the Freakshow wine (the blend) that I was served. There are a couple of TVs in one of the larger rooms - that coupled with $2 mimosas on Sundays makes this a solid spot for Sunday funday fans. Like the neighboring businesses, the Patio Lounge backs up to the Pinellas Trail, which although is not a new thing, provides a peaceful walk from the bar to the other bars (or the parking garage). I don't make it out to Dunedin very often these days but if I do, I would definitely return to TPL.
